    Very cool series. Thanks Erik for calling out the trolls! As someone who can shoot a mid-80s on a good day, or a 110 on a bad day, I find Ben's round relatable. The nerves of playing with better players, playing a TOUGH course and with a bunch of cameras in your face would pull apart anybody with a shaky game. Kudos to Ben for toughing it out, and even pulling off some terrific shots.
    I also agree that it is fun to watch Joe pick the course apart. The man has a game that I think anyone not on tour would envy!
    Tom, you've played some solid golf, and really only had a couple of meltdowns. Keep your head in it and play smart and you'll hit your number!

    From one Ben to another, I feel his pain. Never had the blessing of playing a course this great/difficult, nor have I had to play on camera. It’s nerve wracking enough just to play a new course w/people you don’t know. Add in that it’s Sawgrass & EAL’s channel, most of us would be closer to Ben’s score than Joe’s, most likely. Very cool he was willing to do this!

    Golf is hard!
    I’m a massive Tom Coyne fan! Everything he does speaks to me in golf.
    Ben.... keep it going. We all have bad days.... bad days at Sawgrass are exponentially worse!!
    But that’s why we love golf.
    Joe..... bloody Nora that’s some impressive shooting at a course like that! And a brilliantly used ‘tactical chunder’
    Go well gents.

    Ben's playing bad for sure, I'm sure he's better than that, but still think he's being generous saying he's a 14 cap

    • @AnarkyXIII

      on courses he's used to from tees he's used to MAYBE, but on this course with these tees he's a 25+

    • @reganworld
      @reganworld 3 года назад +3

      From the PLAYERS tees TPC Sawgrass has a Course rating of 76.4 and a slope of 155. So someone with a 14 index has a playing handicap of 24! (Playing handicap = handicap index x slope number of the tee marker being played ÷ 113 (which is the average slope number) + course rating - par of the relevant tee marker.) So he'd have to play extremely well to break 100. Statistically he's only going to beat his handicap 1 round in 5, and that's playing your home track without any of this added pressure.

    • @Not3xactly
      @Not3xactly 3 года назад

      @@reganworld yea agreed. A 14 cap would have to play pretty well to break 100, no argument for me. But dude is on pace to shoot 140 which is why I am saying I think he's bein generous sayin he's a 14.

    I think what perhaps many people don't realize is that a 14 index doesn't mean a 14 handicap on the course. At Sawgrass it means a 24 handicap. Add the cameras and the pressure and it's HARD. Another thing people don't realize is that an index is measured from the 8 best rounds of your last 20. It's supposed to be a measure of your skill when you're "on", not an average!

      For sure. Im just a small channel but ive put good golfers on film and watched them crumble, plus im sure they are playing a longer yardage than normal. Hell i normaly play between 6-6500 yards. If i moved back to where they are it would cost me atleast 8 strokes.
