      I have one, and you are correct. It's my first full size pickup. I wouldn't trade it for any other truck on the road except for maybe a newer version of the same truck. However I really like this style a lot

      Good choice. I got mine 3 months ago. It is my favorite truck. I see other nice trucks on the road and still would not trade mine for the other ones. Actually I think nissan was ahead of it's time when they made this truck because they had the same body style for 11 years and it still looks really cool. Mine is my first full size truck and I am so satisfied I think I'm going to stick with nissan in the future.

    Proud owner of a 2010 model. Recently had to pull my buddy out of the snow who owns a f250. The truck is always a beast and gets the job done. Mainly used my truck for fire fighting and first responding. Insane terrain out where I work. Titan.

    I love my 2015 Titan, The best part about it is that it is so simple. It is used for working, commuting, hunting, fishing etc. It is an awesome allarounder.

      is milage really bad??? iam looking into one, trow a 2 inch lift and use it as a camping rig. let me know thanks

    • @stevenlloyd7839
      @stevenlloyd7839 4 года назад

      To me the mileage is worth it. I knew before I got it I was going to spend more money on gas. Honestly I would rather pay more to drive something I really like. It's not good fuel economy but if you do a lot of highway driving it is manageable. Also the other features cannot be denied. I only had it a few months and already hooked a flatbed trailer to it and used it to move with. It's a towing machine and a snow machine.

      +Maxk99 My 2014 Titan was my first V8 ever, and I'm enamored with the sound. And it can hall a$$ too! I had to use mine for long-distance commuting at one point (gas mileage nightmare!), and I could punch this thing and race past cars when safety required that I do so.

    I have to admit, that baby sounds amazing for a stock exhaust! My Tundra sounds good but the Titan is almost NASCAR Truck comparatively sound wise.

  • @quadrunner2124
    @quadrunner2124 9 лет назад +7

    He made a good point when he mentioned towing. If you are using it for a truck most of the time, all of the new turbo, and cylinder deactivation features that are designed to squeak out mpg no longer help towards mpg. They just raise the price and complexity of the vehicle. That's what makes these guys special. They do more than just compares specs and obvious features. Nice Job. Looked fun too.

    I bought my 2008.5 ProX4 brand new up here in Alaska. I work on the North slope (oil fields) so it sits for 2 weeks at a time. I have 37K miles on it LOL! I have done a lot to it, rims, audio, lighting, engine, etc.. It has been by far the most reliable truck I have ever owned. Someday I will have to say goodbye to it, maybe pickup an older Dodge 3/4 or 1 ton. nah... I love my Titan too much! I will say it was a hard decision to make when I was doing my research, it was SO close between the Tundra, Dodge 1/2 ton, and the Titan. I have no regrets!

    I own a 2011 SV crew cab, and I love it! Tows my 5000 lb travel trailer with ease, and sounds and performs like a muscle car, especially with the aftermarket cold air intake (Airaid MXP) I installed. LOTS of mods available for these trucks, and while they have some issues (manifolds, axle seals), name me a brand of truck that is problem free...

    I have an 06 titan. Right now sitting around 460000 km. Just replaced its first broken trans mount. And that's actually it's first real issue... I'm off-road regularly and I love pushing this truck to the limit! It's climbed hills steep enough that u can barely walk up. I've had it so deep in a mud hole that I had to take the sub out from under the seat to clean the muddy silt water out. (FYI it's got a 6" fabteck lift) so ya, it was deep.. and made er thru!I've got a heavy foot. So ya fuel Eco is not good... but it is fairly consistent even when pulling my 4000+ work trailer about 3 times a week.
    I love my T TAN. (The i fell off a long long time ago. So that's its name)
    I've been truck shopping a little bit and nothing out there feels right to me..

    I had a 2012 Titan SV with a pro comp 6" lift and loved it. I now currently own a 15 Pro 4X and Im very happy with it. I have had it almost a year now with almost 10k miles on it and i cant complain. The guy talks about how simple things are on the interior and I have agree with him. I personally don't like how a lot of trucks have so much going on with instruments, lights, bells and whistles. But as I said, that is my opinion. I plan on keeping this truck until it dies.

    Great vid! I bought my 2008 titan brand new and won't sell or trade it in. I'll keep it forever. This truck has been through so much and Is still one of our every day drivers. Over 200k miles and runs strong. Pulled out a stuck f250, dodge ram, and tundra in the dunes of pismo beach. This truck never got stuck. So easy to drive, park, and get out of sticky situations.

    I have a 2011 Pro4X, and it is definitely my favorite truck I have ever driven. It has tons of power, and great acceleration. It feels really maneuverable compared to other trucks in its class, and is nice for city driving. My only issue with it, is the fuel economy, which isn't ideal for city driving. The highway fuel economy isn't too bad. The truck does sound amazing, like everyone has said. I have a set of Cooper Discoverer ATW tires on it, and I don't think I'll ever get it stuck. Great truck.

    I actually like that it has enough creature comforts to make me happy but not loaded down with luxury crap. I'll be looking into one of these. If I wanted luxury, I'd buy a Luxo car, it's a truck, and also I can add all of my audiophile stereo equipment without having to spend a grand on adapters! Very dependable trucks. Just drove a new Canyon and got a big dose of sticker shock!

    • @OverYunder
      @OverYunder 8 лет назад +2

      +James Trapp I couldn't agree more. We basically bought our 2014 model new as an almost-work truck: no power mirrors, no frills in the cab (not even the option to use the armrest as a storage area). We just got cruise control, the tow package, and mud guards. The console is so simple that it looks like something from the 1990s: just AC/heat, AM/FM stereo and CD player. It's old school, and I love it. I fear that American's have loved trucks to death, and we've ruined the wonderful feel of a manly work truck we knew in our youth. I'm not sure the 2016 Titan will have that same old-school feel, and I would encourage anyone who can do so to grab one of these 2015 models before they're all gone.

    I love my 2010 pro4x. Ill never get rid of my beast.. What people fail to see is that the Titan was so ahead of his time when it came out that it was hard to improve something that already looked so sharp and beefy and the truck was so good that they didn't have to change a thing except MPG but then again what true V8 gets good MPG. Exactly!!

    I had a 2006 Titan, and it was the best truck I ever had. It even had factory navigation and a damped tailgate!!! Sure, the new trucks are like luxury vehicles inside, but do we really need all that crap that drives up the price? 2015 Titans are about $15,000 cheaper than most other trucks, and I'd rather have that money in my pocket. Titans get only 1-2 MPG worse than other V8 trucks, (this is my real world testing), and here in Canada with our cold winters, all trucks get terrible gas mileage. I think the smart thing to do would be to wait until the new one comes out, and then buy a left over 2014-15. The new one will no doubt have a lot of bugs to work out, since it their first redesign in 11 years.

    Best truck ive ever owned for many reasons including reliability. Put a Borla dual in single out on it, and a set of good AT tires and shes a beast. Very easy to drive and feels like a truck. Light feeling for its size around town. Passes on the merge ramp on the hwy very well. Big plus. You can get great deals on new pro 4x models compared to other brands.I may buy a Ford again one day as still like them but till then... I love my Titan Pro 4X!!

    I daily drive my 2010, still going strong. Added long tube headers, full exhaust and tuned…..it puts out as much or more power as the “modern” trucks. Upgraded the suspension (shocks, springs, control arms). It’s very capable. Very cheap in the used market now. Good, reliable trucks once you sort it out.

      +Dmgolfer22 Nissan created the Titan back in 2003. They have changed virtually nothing between then and 2015. So, in fact, the 2015 Titan is like a time machine to an earlier era when trucks were becoming more useful to families but weren't meant to cost more than a Mercedes. That V8 has barely changed in 12 years, and it's a great engine with plenty of power.

    I’ve owned 26 vehicles and by far my favorite was my 2011 Titan Off Road with 35” tires and a 2” lift. That thing towed like a beast and handled anything I threw at it.
    Only weak spot was it was 16mpg on a good day but most time it was about 13mpg.
    My fondest memory was pulling out a F150, GMC 1500 Sierra, and a 3500 DMax all stuck in the same spot. The DMax had a hole the size of a grapefruit through the Allison and would not move. The other two trucks tried to rescue it and both got stuck. The F150 had a plow and had slidden off the road and had a tree between the pow and the bumper requiring me to pull it sideways at first.
    They originally wanted me to bring my tractor down but I was not willing to drive it 7 miles in a blizzard. I showed up in the Titan and they all laughed at first calling it a “Ching Chong Chang Truck” but they all shut up quickly when I started yanking them out one by one!

    Wow, the truck market has really changed over the last 10-15 years. This truck is more equipped than anything that was available during that time period and it's not even close. While it's nice that automakers are always innovating and pushing the envelope with new drivetrains and interiors, I think the truck market needs to push the pause button for a little while. All of these electronic doodads, power this, automatic that, air powered this, are cool but are they really necessary? I mean REALLY necessary? All I need my truck to do is haul, tow, or run over anything I specifically need it to and preferably look and sound good while doing it. My ONLY complaint about the Titan would be the MPG, if it averaged 18 instead of 14 it would be damn near perfect in my opinion.

    • @dchawk81
      @dchawk81 9 лет назад

      Is a truck at all really necessary? I mean REALLY necessary? Do you REALLY need to tow? I mean, REALLY? Or run over things? REALLY?
      I find these arguments tiresome. Refinements are a good thing. Features are a good thing. If you don't want them, opt out of them. If you can't opt out of them, don't press the buttons that make them do what they do.

    • @PhillipMicah
      @PhillipMicah 9 лет назад

      dchawk81 Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. I'm glad my arguments were tiresome enough to justify you responding. I never said features or refinements weren't a good thing, just that in my opinion, it's getting out of hand with every manufacturer trying to one up the other. A 10 speed transmission? power tailgates? twin turbos? 360 cameras? Why not use drone technology to make them remote control and we can operate them from our couches? In the video Nathan calls navigation, XM radio, adjustable pedals, and leather seats BASICS. My point is, there seems to be a lot of people who turn there nose up at anything that seems "outdated" or "basic" when in reality it's a perfectly, functional, reliable, do it all vehicle. But to each their own. "If you can't opt out don't push the buttons that make them do what they do." Yea okay, so I won't enter the vehicle, start the vehicle, select a gear in the transmission, use the 4WD system, or anything else that requires button pushing in new trucks. Riiiiiiight.

    • @dchawk81
      @dchawk81 9 лет назад

      PhillipMicah I drive old crap so I'm not exactly "spoiled" in the luxury sense by today's standards but with prices being as high as they are today, I would NOT be happy if what I currently have is what I'd get for that money.
      If you could still get a car for $12,000 and wasn't a tin can, you might have a valid argument. But no. Prices are way too high to be happy with 10 year old features.
      Besides, people need reasons to buy new. Very few folks actually wear their cars out with that alone being justification. And when they do, they want better than they had.
      Is it wasteful on the part of some people? Sure. But that provides a healthy used market for us less financially endowed folks.

    • @dchawk81
      @dchawk81 9 лет назад

      PhillipMicah As far as my button pushing comment, you obviously didn't comprehend that.
      What I meant was you can ignore any and all buttons and switches that do things or provide features you don't want.

    • @PhillipMicah
      @PhillipMicah 9 лет назад

      dchawk81 The price of a tin can 10 years ago was less than now correct? So base price goes up so does every other option group as well, your spending more money no matter what options you get. So a car with 10 year old features will cost more now than a car with the same options 10 years ago correct? So you see how you can pay more for a car with 10 year old features today than you would have 10 years ago right?
      I don't think everyone is looking for better than they had. Most people would be happy with the same or less, maybe a slight upgrade. The only reason you need to buy new is that its new.
      I agree with this and am glad some people upgrade every year and eat all of the losses themselves.

    He is right about the good visibility in this truck. I drive the newer Chevy and Dodge trucks on a regular basis, and visibility sucks on all their new stuff. The sad part is that the only reason they make it that way is to give the trucks the "look" they want. Stupid. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the new titan will also have that big square front end that you can't see around.

    Have a 2004 LE CC and bought new. It is the worst year made and far from perfect BUT it still drives better than the F150 I tested. Why? It is much more manoeuvrable and feels smaller than the others. It also has a more compliant suspension. The downside is the payload and fuel economy.
    There are serious flaws as well. The pre 06 models have brakes that are too small and they warp. Easy fix though with a cheap power Stop brake kit for ~$325. The Pre 06 door locks freeze. Can be fixed but 400+ in parts not including labor. I use silicone as an annual bandaid. Early front diffs had a problem where the circlips holding the axles in pop off. $2k replacement. Rear axle seals leak and off-road package + tow package = bad rear diff. Headers are known to crack. Heat controls in dash can brake requiring a big disassembly for what equates to a servo gear.
    New models 08+ are better but still have some of these problems. Even so, all can be fixed/upgraded and you are still spending far less than a new truck. Get one a few years old for half price or less.

      Over a period of 10 plus years Nissan never addressed the drivetrain issues and fluid leaks. I used to have one and drove it extensively, so I know -- Titans have questionable reliability as the miles climb.

      I disagree. I think you had a fluke of a bad experience with yours. Most of the titan owners I have talked to and read their responses say this is a really reliable truck. One guy said he had almost 300k on his and only put a transmission mount on it. I have yet to find a whole lot of people complaining about these vehicles. I consider a nissan a very reliable vehicle.

    I have an '04, and it is a beast. Had it loaded down with 1,000# of gravel in the bed and pulling close to 8,000# on the trailer a couple weeks ago. Accelerated great, braked well, overall handled it well. But it is an older truck. The mileage sucked, the interior is definitely dated and the styling, although I still feel it looks current, isn't as edgy as it was when it was released. I do however like the size of it as it hasn't ballooned like all the other vehicles have recently. With all that said, when it comes time to replace mine, it probably wouldn't be with the '15 titan. Fuel economy being the number one reason why not. The 2.7 ecoboost would probably be my choice as I believe the Cummins powered Titan will be very expensive, oversized, and probably not get very impressive mpg #'s. I'll bet it'll pull anything though. The new truck market is heating up though with the ecodiesel, Cummins, the diesel Colorado/canyon right around the corner and the '15 F150 with its engine and body configurations. Looks like there will be something for everyone.
