    TFL continues to be the only journalists doing real off-road testing, rather than just splashing through a puddle or two like others. Thumbs up.

    Nathan, you need to do all of the off-road reviews you understand the dynamics of off-road driving much better than Roman.

      Nathanael Sardakowski I agree Roman doesn't know a thing about off road in and everything that spews from his mouth is about the damned Raptor.

    I think the Nissan is one of the few trucks that has enough clearance on the front wheels for tire chains. If so, it should beat all others in a deep snow competition. Keep up the good work I love your videos.

    I have had numerous 4x4s, one of which is a Lexus LX570 and we do deicing for stores which requires lots of 4x4 action. So I’ve seen a lot, and I’m telling you the Nissan Titan 4x4 system is the best in a truck by a mile. At least full size. Frame is insanely stiff. And the thing is just smart. Made my 250 look caveman by comparison.

    This is a good looking truck. The red is even growing on me. Great review. I wish manufacturers would have level kits from factory. It's tough enough spending 40 50 60k then spending more on a level kit. Plus also Nissan needs to dump the general grabbers. I did. Replaced with open country at/2

    I found Gold Mine Hill, but I have not idea where the Cliffhanger 2 is. It appears to be slightly higher elevation with bigger rocks. The Nissan Titan Pro 4X did a good job, I thought it was more capable than the Tacoma TRD. I liked the video a lot it had some great camera angles, it looks like a challenging trail.

    U really can't say that the titan is too wide for the dare side because u took the raptor there too, plus I think it's unfair because u guys tested the Tacoma with stock pressure tires but with the titan u aired down, seems unfair but good video

    • @joshtavenner3073
      @joshtavenner3073 8 лет назад +6

      Manveer Singh I think the difference is they own the Raptor. They probably don't want to completely scratch up a press vehicle.

    • @jeffk464
      @jeffk464 8 лет назад +1

      Really they should run them all on the same tires that way you are testing the truck and not the tires, but I guess that would be expensive.

    Probably the best truck on the market, nothing even close to it. sure probably better trucks for towing, or offroad. but when compared for reliability, nothing will come close. have owned two Nissan's, have had a Ford and GMC. Ford was a nightmare with wiring issues.

    Well done, Nathan (and Andre!). How would say this truck compares to the Ram Rebel you tested earlier? I'd LOVE to see a Mashup with the Rebel, Titan Pro 4X and the Tundra TRD! All direct competitors! Bring all 3 out here on the same day and let's see it. :) Please?!

    • @TFLtruck
      @TFLtruck  8 лет назад +2

      +jedironin380 yes, that would be a great comparison! We never tested a Rebel on this Cliffhanger 2.0, but it is closely matched against the Pro-4x and the Trd Pro.

  • @DoRC
    @DoRC 8 лет назад

    I'm confused. You said you aired down because 2.0 is the toughest blah blah. But you took the poor little renegade through the same route and didn't air it down, or any other vehicle that's run the same route. Is this something you will be doing from now on or was there another reason you aired down (maybe Nissan made you?) I kind of think it's unfair to air down the Nissan when all the other trucks had to do it without that advantage .

      Brandon Murphy what would be your reasons

    • @brandonm6117
      @brandonm6117 7 лет назад +1

      Dustin Mittel. Reliability of course would be number one. With decent all terrain tires they are extremley capable. Gas mileage isnt the worst ive seen. Suspension is good enough for light/medium off-roading. They are also pretty easy to work on. Also have good warrantys if you buy new. Ive seen many issues with all the other brands, tramsmissions going out before 150k. Engines blowing. Engines getting high oil pressure Etc. I know many Toyotas with over 300K including mine that run like new.

    • @brandonm6117
      @brandonm6117 7 лет назад +1

      Dustin Mittel. Also they have incredible resale value. I saw one at an auction a couple weeks ago sell for over 15k. It was a 2000 tacoma. What other trucks from 2000 can sell for that?? I dont know of any

    • @dustinmittel348

      Base 2WD is about 35k, 4WD is 38k. The pro 4x starts at 45k and gets higher depending on package. Some dealerships are offering 10k off msrp at the moment but probably after taxes you will probably still be around 30k for the base model.

    • @joshtavenner3073
      @joshtavenner3073 8 лет назад

      John Sotomayor I would say no. Unless you need a smaller truck. Outside of the size limitation depending where you may be wheeling it's hard to beat the Power Wagon for a truck. Something like the powers Wagon or raptor are purpose built off roaders. Whereas this truck would be more of a competitor to say an F150 with the FX4 package.

      John Sotomayor First 4x4? You do not need a power wagon. Where the hell are you going that you think you need a PW? You should get something with open differentials, and have an experienced off road driver teach you the art of driving on trails. Motorcyclists have a saying that "it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow". Same applies to off road. Much more fun to drive a less capable machine to its limit, than to be bored never even challenging the capabilities of a purpose built monster like the PW.
      PW's are bad ass. Big, rough riding, gas hogs...but bad ass! The 1/2ton category will be much easier to live with for 99% of your miles though. ;)

      My first truck was a 2001 Silverado and learned as fun as customizing a truck is, the reliability suffers. So the more I look at a new truck, I want to keep it stock. Power wagon has it already done. I may never need all of the features but it won't be something where I will get the itch to change every small detail. Plus I'm really tall so it has to be a full size truck that I can fit in.

    If you would have aired down the Taco it would have walked right up without any issues.

    Only a minor complaint. I dont like the chrome plastic Nissan name plates on the doors, tail gate, etc. Black graphics would look cool. Thats me.

    You notoriously stop in the middle of the most difficult spots of the course when you’re driving Nissan. It’s widely know that TRD and certain trims of F150 are equipped with better tires. You continue to test them head to head though. Grabbers are not off-road tires in any way shape or form.

    Not a Nissan fan but, no diesel, I feel it would've been great with all the torque .
