good info I bought one for my 3 year old grandson and grandaughter they are 6 now and an AWESOME shots I'm going to build me one now. They are FUN and cheap to shoot. Never thought I would like shooting 22
I had a friend that tried to get a Ruger to compete with our rifles. He finally got it shooting nice but the only thing Ruger on the rifle was the trigger guard.
The Timney trigger would be a great improvement over the factory trigger. Timney is ajustable two stage. Both stages are ajustable from 8oz.-2LB. I know its 95 percent shooter and you have that covered! Nice Whitetail! I saw your hunt last season and that was a nice Kansas Buck with a bow!
Nice looking RPR, I'm thinking about finally doing something with mine (got it in 2018) I need to push it's range out further for a start, I have 1.25" MDT rings & a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x44 FFP EBR 2C Reticle but can only get to around 180/5 meters fully dialed & around 210/15 meters using drops on scope. Any suggestions on the best way to getting it shooting further would be great for a start and any upgrades you think I could look at? Cheers from Australia, p.s, I'm limited with budget.
Your rear bag rider, is it a solid piece of aluminium or hollow pipe, love what you’ve done with your rifle and makes a good solid foundation platform 😋👍
Just purchased Ruger 10/22 LR Percision myself. Really have not shot it much. Think i put about about 40 rounds through it so far. Wanting to make it better. Needing some suggestions please. I do know I do want to upgrade the magazine release, thinking of the trigger too.
Thanks for that I have an RPR in Oz and have just upgraded the barrel as well my option was a 22" barrel do you have the option of barrel length if why did you stick with the 18" thanks again
20 inch is the sweet spot with standard velocity ammo. Any shorter or longer and you lose velocity. I sacrifice velocity for better harmonics with a 24" heavy barrel. For me I found that this make the barrel except a wider variety of ammunition. This works for me and find the 24" heavy barrel isn't picky with ammunition. I believe harmonics plays more of a role in rimfire when choosing ammunition then chambering. Both are important but for me it's nice to shot any match ammunition with all great results. Of course you still get what you pay for in ammo. One example is lapua center x and SK standard plus group the same at 50 yards and no noticeable difference tell you go over 80 yards. After 80 yards center x is tighter .SK STANDARD is 1/3 the price. Very little difference between any match ammo in 50-70 degree temperature. Cold weather or hot weather Also will separate the different match ammo. HAPPY PLINKING!
Wow...lots of mods... Where did you get that JKL chamber flag ? Nice set up. Does the barrel mod put you in open class ? Can you show some targets against aome ammos. My RPRR is pretty much bone stock but is a keeper. Do some more vids.... 😁👍
The chamber flag/mag block came from JKL Precision. Its listed under the 10/22 accessories. The barrel (and other mods) does put it in the Open class. I'll try to track down some target pictures but the winner of the 10 or so brands I tested at 100 yards was SK Rifle Match.

Just purchased a RPR 22lr and the bolt requires a surprising amount of force to push down and into place. It actually clicks each time. Is that normal for everyone or does my rifle have an issue? I was hoping for a much smoother action.
@@darrondb Thank you sir! The forward to back motion is like butter, but actually pushing the handle down into the lock position is incredibly stiff and there is a loud audible 'click' every time its pressed into place. it feels like I'm snapping a spring or getting caught on something each time. There is zero hope of holding a zero through a scope while pushing down that hard to get the next round into battery. I guess I'll just work at it and see if it smooths out.
The stiffness is normal, the click is unusual. Have you disassembled your bolt to make sure everything is where it should be? Sounds like maybe the extractor or ejector is hanging up on something
@@darrondb I'll be doing that this weekend. I would be surprised if ruger intended it to work this way. Just looked up a video on the disassembly of the bolt. Looks very straight forward.
@@darrondb Cool Mr.Darron D b. My Mate and I went to our first ever shooting competition with my new RPR 22 expecting to win. We returned very dis-heartened. Man the real competitors were so good. It is the kind of sport that must be started early in life)) Nice vid. Respect.. J.
FYI, those magazine style "chamber flags" are not legal, so watch out for an observant RSO who will ask you to use a "real" chamber flag. With your magazine well chamber flag, you can still have a round in the chamber as there is nothing sticking into the chamber to show that the chamber is empty ...
Thanks for watching! It all depends on the match. Many will accept the magazine blocks if you demonstrate an empty chamber first. But agree, you can still have a round hidden in there if you're not careful

Hollow piece of 1 inch aluminum tubing. Thanks for watching
Might have to get this.. but does bolt action plinking get boring after a few minutes?
If you are able to shoot steel targets, its an absolute blast. I'm not into paper targets too much but steel is awesome
@@darrondb thanks for the reply.
Basically you've swapped everything except for the receiver and magazine.
Does the MPA EVG grip need to be modified to fit I am about to order one for mine
I made a very tiny notch with a razor to accommodate the safety stop on the right side. 5 seconds of work and then it bolts right up.
The stock pad, was it just the rpr option or did you contact them to make it smaller for the rimfire?
Greetings! If I recall, I just got the one for the regular RPR and it worked fine
regarding ER Shaw barrel..did you verify headspace? Some have reported a shim in need, I suspect due to variations in receiver manufacture.
Mine could use a very thin shim as the bolt is very difficult to close since the barrel swap
What was your group size with the factory barrel

Trigger is probably the best option
I have made pretty much exactly the same bag rider as you. It works really well. What made you change from the RPR to the Bergara?
I wanted to move to something in the Remington 700 platform
what is the ring height for the Burris cantilever? im looking for a cantilever but everything is 1.5" AR height...I want lower height 1" maybe
I used ar height since that is what I had on hand. Lower would be nicer

Yes, could have gone longer. From my research, there wasn't much go gain going longer and shooting standard velocity ammo.
