I've lived in an extended stay for four years now. I am glad I do. Lost my house after my husband left me. So I've been doing that and saving as well as working on my credit. No grass to cut. No bills but the rent. It's hard sometimes but it's better than being homeless. Best of luck to all who watch this video

I stay at an ESA in Scottsdale Az. for a month each year to see MLB Spring Training. The hotels down the street (2-3 blocks) are $200-$350 per night. I pay about $50-$60. I love this ESA because it's very clean and in a safe neighborhood. I make my reservation at least 10 months ahead and use my money for other things than an expensive place to sleep. I use my kitchen if I don't want to go out and they have security 24-7. Close to everything you want to see. Once you try ESA I think you'll agree that you get more than your money's worth.

1.) Don't want to pay the deposit & first month's rent.
2.) Pay for an animal deposit + telling what breeds I can have.
3.) Waiting for a credit check

I went to renew a couple of weeks ago and they jacked it up to $678! I just couldn't do it. My hand would not allow me to insert my debit card into the machine! I ended up finding a suite a few miles away at InTown Suites and they charged me $1365 for a whole month. That's actually pretty cheap considering that it includes internet, cable TV, and electricity. The room is a little bit smaller but other than that it's pretty much the same and it's only half the price. Oh, and InTown has a pool and ESA doesn't.

Being a former student. A hotel is going to cost you a lot more money. I did make the decision to live off campus my final semester as an undergraduate student. But the few times I needed extra tutoring assistance, I needed to come on campus. And yes, I liked staying at the local hotel for the week. But per night that's like 80 dollars before tax. So after tax, it's like a 100 dollars and for 5 days it becomes $500 dollars. Then of course if I got a discount even if it was for 10 or 15% which adds up, then I wouldn't qualify to receive the hotel points or to receive nights counting towards hotel status which sucked. When I was interning, I wanted to stay at an extended stay. But many extended stays start out at least a $100 a night in major cities. You will find after a month, that 'rent' is like $3,000 dollars. If you find someone instead to sublease you a room, which is a pain when you have to sometimes haul your own furniture, you could get it under a $1,000 a month. Otherwise, your other option is to stay in the dorms. They do give you dorm room by the semester. Then at least that's like $2,000 for a semester which then indirectly is like $500 a month including utilities. Though in many cases unless you can get a single, you would have a roommate. But I feel ya, it is annoying having to move around furniture etc. That's one convenience, I'd always like is if a bed and everything else was included and all I'd have to do is bring my clothes.

Extended Stays are by no means cheap but they are a good avenue to break free from the system and escape the matrix. An Extended Stay may be cheaper in this type of situation:
      You've found a 1 bedroom "luxury apt" costing $ 1,950
Besides rent, you are also to pay for the following:
      pool, gym, etc $200
      parking for $150
      utilities $150,
      mandatory renters insurance $50
      Pet fees $300
      TOTAL MONTHLY RENT = $2,800
Just to move in requires $8,400 (security deposit, first months rent, and last months rent)
Instead of trying so hard to come up with $8,400 why not just pay 350 per week at an ESA.

  • @Determination212
    @Determination212 4 года назад +35

I've thought about Extended Stay's when I had a few internships. I love earning hotel points and getting status and the ease. I can start my stay and end it whenever I want without a contract. Many apartments you have to get the lease for a full year. So if you leave early, you still have to pay for the remaining months. It's nice when a hotel too offers a bed and everything included. Apartments you always have to haul your stuff. It's rather annoying when living in the dorms. But then comes the price. An extended stay, especially in a major city costs at least a 100 dollars a night. So if I stayed for a full month, it would cost me $3,000 dollars. An apartment, often with rent is at least half or a third of its price. If I had the unlimited cash or resources, I would love traveling the world and going from hotel to hotel. As long as it's a nice hotel as I've watched enough youtube videos showing peoples horrors how the bed or bathroom wasn't cleaned etc.

These are an option and it's not a bad option but don't be fooled this is an infomercial and you have to be real careful about which one you stay at and you have to be real clear about a lot of things with extended stay I've stay there I'll stay there again but they're not all the same and the cost can be very exorbitant depending on where you stay and how the contract is written again this is an infomercial...the other thing to be real careful about is some of these are in sketchy areas and there are real sketchy people that sometimes live at these extended stay hotels blast when I stayed out was in a nice area but the floor I lived on there was probably two or three people that have been there long term and then the course they had five or six other people living there also and the day that I was there and they had a complete meltdown and with the cops were called it was a big drama drawer and sometimes you get real nasty people because of all the things that he mentioned now crowded blah blah blah that can happen anywhere but you just have to be careful
