As a half Irish half french Canadian it's not worth what people think of you but what's important is what you think of yourself. I live in french part of Canada and they don't appreciate the English but not the English from England they don't appreciate the English who are the English speaking people of Canada. I see myself as a Canadian citizens. So don't worry about what others think of you just remember who you are and be proud of you have done with your own life and how you helped those around you and those are the people who you should care about how they feel about you.
I've seen a lot of comments like this but the truth is the reverse. I have witnessed some frustration from Irish living in England, as we often include the Irish in our definition of British. To understand why, take the British flag which includes the cross of St Patrick to represent Ireland. We call this collection of islands off the northwest coast of Europe the 'British' Isles. Irish and British is not necessarily a contradiction to most Brits. Some Irish take offence, others enjoy not being treated like a foreigner - or at least no more foreign than Scots and Welsh.

The NI only identity figure fell from the last census. The big news is a fall of about 5% in the Protestant population every 10 years with the Catholic population edging up around a percent. In 10 years time the Catholic population will see a considerable gap with the older Protestants dying off. Slow demographic change will facilitate the change.
While it's not definitively going to lead to anything only a liar or someone in deep denial would claim this is not significant because you need to understand Northern Ireland was created to be a Protestant country for a Protestant people at the time the North was created protestants outnumbered catholics 2-1 now we have seen a massive shift while it doesn't guarantee anything this is yet another sign the trends are leaning towards a united Ireland one day

And people have a choice between British Irish both... some people (very small percentage) identify as northern irish only, so neither British nor Irish I would guess. Parents will always want to send their children to a school in their own community. Would you want your children having to go to a school in the Shankill if you lived on the Falls road or vice verse for the sake of integration. You would need shared housing before inter grated schools could reach it's full potential
