Love it, black makes yellow pop, but for a more beehive effect, I would have used a brown fabric from mid to dark tones. I have dies of hexagons and also the ruler so this is a definite go to block. 😊 thanks for sharing 😊

Very cute! Hexagon quilts are one of the things that draws me to quilting but I've been too intimidated to actually try it out, haha. Plus I've been so facinated by designing my own fabric lines that I've been spending a lot of time doing that and less time sewing. This project looks approachable for me!

I use a lead pencil normal 2HB if I’m worried it’ll show I use chalk pencils white or blue. I’ve tried friction pens find they drag on fabric plus expensive and dry out when you least expect. Pencils are great just need a sharpener and last for ever🌼💙

I use te “Frixon”pen … the are just lie a normal pen but disappear if you put any heat on the … ironing is one example .. if you are marking fabric with a paper piece idea in mind … never iron the item until you have finished the block or your pattern marking will no longer be there… or if you are using it for embroidery … it will fade somewhat it you the type who loves to sit in front of a fire and sew …. And I know that will not be a happy occasion … .. never iron after drawing on your fabric … tried over the years
I have used the water soluble pens but don’t like them much .. the couple that I have over the year have dried up in what I would consider to be a very short time. Like a couple of months … 2 or 3 months and like everything Quilty the are not cheap …and I don’t like throwing money away … if I did I’d go to a casino instead of a quilt shop … an hour in either would see me less too much money and facing a very ‘pissed’ husband again … who will expect me to cook a couple of evening meals … hang the washing when I actually do it … and empty the dishwasher for a couple weeks… Oh man… it’s like I am grounded … hmm could be worse he could have taken my phone as well …. 😮 … but his grumpy mood won’t in end in the divorce court … well not the first couple of times … oh now I need to hush up and let someone else talk …😊❤❤
