    It is a happy quilt. I have some animal panels which are about 6,5 inch square. They would realy combine well with this fabric combination. Especially the greens would be nice with it. My first quilt, a table runner was made from log cabins. A realy lovely pattern.

    I love it. Mrs. Quilty boxes look good. I made log cabin cushions with piping around them a couple of years ago when I went to our Sewing Guild's annual sewing retreat. They are fun to do. Love Tommy's new lounging quilt. I made a puff quilt for my daughter's dog.....not a good idea. The little minx ripped some of the puffs but luckily I was able to repair it. Log cabin is a much better choice.

      Yes, Tommy would totally do it if left unsupervised... The smaller the naughtier... Dobby, my Portuguese podengo is twice his size and has never ruined anything in his 12 years of age

    I’ve said it before I like Mrs Quilty who I found through you Sandy . There are negative reviews from some , but this company has made huge progress in the quality of their fabrics. I haven’t gotten this box but I wish I was lol.

      I agree, they've upped their game considerably. Well, if you have the service, you'll get it soon enough, they roll out the boxes in order.

    Fabrics and quilt were beautiful. I find that every time I try a log Cabin block, it goes all wonky and never straight lines. I try to be so careful with my cutting the strips and my 1/4” seams but alas, still wonky😢.

      I find that my 1/4 foot with the guide helps in keeping things straight..do you use one of those?

    • @andreamaclachlan980
      @andreamaclachlan980 10 дней назад +2

      I stopped using a quarter inch foot years ago. I move the needle over instead and get much better results. I also use the walking foot for even sewing. The reason for moving the needle and ditching the quarter inch, as revealed by another sewer, is that only a part of the feed dogs get used, which skews the fabric as it goes through (yup!!!!) My seams/ joins would also snag causing more bad seams. Now I sew over the entire feed dog unit which keeps everything uniform, and with the walking foot I get great results ❤ Just have to remember to move the needle❤❤

      @@andreamaclachlan980 for me it's not about the seam size, it's the guide I can use to make sure the fabrics are where they are supposed to

    Another great video. Log Cabin is a great block. Very versatile. You can mix and match light and dark or do your rounds in same light or dark. I did one top in jelly rolls I used blacks and grays. It is special. I also find the variation in the pattern to be pleasing and I had trouble deciding which to use😊.

      Bonjour. Where I live, in Portugal, we also use the metric system but because most of my audience is in the US and inches are just so much easier to measure, I chose to do it in inches. But if you happen to have a ruler with both you should be able to convert it easily. Or you can do a quick Google conversion. I hope that helps. Merci.
