I played a Silver Jubilee in a practice room once in 2007. It was incredible, instant Slash tone.
Was it an old one or a reissue?
The reissue wasnt made in 2007..
@@francescoarzenton9845
@@francescoarzenton9845 Not Slash's tone. It is the Marshall Jubilee tone!!!!!!!! Which is Use your Illusion tone onwards..
Technically the Jubilee is the touring amp, the studio amp is a modded Tim Caswell "SIR 36" modded JCM800 which are typographically different circuits
Gibson Les Paul + Marshall Amp = Rock N Roll Heaven.
You need to bring back the JCM Slash into production! That should be a forever available model in your lineup!!! 🙏🏽😊
Bought a MINT AFD100 a few months ago and it is one of the best Marshall Amps i have played to date. It can do more than just the Slash tone.
I own it, worst amp Marshall has made, thin ice box!
@@Lymanization thats right, the WORST AMP Marshall has made
@@Shenier_HT why is it the worst amp?
@@just.for.the.downshifts the AFD 100 is the worst amp because it has thin sound, broke too easy, mid honky digital pedalboard like, i mean, they went to Slash's house and got the real #34 for Christ saint! cheap components, nothing like even the handwire series (plexi/800) that Marshall do today, oh and i almost forgot, they never called Frank Levi, the man who made the real #36
You can never get a real sound out of it, just compare it to a JVM, or some 2203x, not to mention a Friedman or Bogner amp
And if you want more, not even Slash uses it anymore
@@Shenier_HT I did notice it too that Slash isn't using it anymore. Can't beat Slash's JCM signature model, what a beast. I love your mods sir, good to see you here
Two of the best Marshall ever made... Wish I had the money!
Wish I had the Randy rhoads head.. and zakk Wylde’s jcm 800.
Silver Jubilee is like 1000 euro, Slash uses the new ones on tour as well as far as I know.
How does this dude capture all those signature styles from every single signature amp? That's crazy
Reissue the AFD100! I have my Sweetwater Card on standby, just gotta wait for you blokes to make the amps :)
Got myself an AFD100 in 2012, even without a clean channel I find myself able to achieve just about any tone. Top amp and well worth it.
If you listen to the isolated Welcome To The Jungle track on RUclips, Slash's AFD sound was more thin than it seems in the mix. So the AFD 100 sound seems about right. I use the AFD for my every day amp using the attenuator.
We need another AFD run please!
I'd even settle for another SL5 run.
or an afd20 studio edition
@@jamesbattersby9454 hell yeah! That would be sick!
No we don’t. I’ve got one and it’s appreciating nicely ;) seriously though if you can find me second hand you probably won’t lose money on it.
@@chriscantplay...2933 HAHA I don't blame you
Did sound for a GnR tribute last night, 'Slash' had the AFD100 and signature LP, best guitar sound I've had at the venue 🔥
This guy can play , and we have the same tastes in guitars. Great videos .
I have an '87 Silver Jubilee signed by Jim Marshall and and AFD 100 that I got in 2020 as NOS (the box was never opened!) They are totally different amps, but both are excellent! They totally nail the Marshall tones I have in my head. If you're thinking about getting one, do it!
I've got a YJM100 and AFD100. One of the best pairs of amps you can own IMO.
Same here! Best pair ever! 🤘
@@rongabay I actually sold the AFD a few months ago to buy a Friedman BE-100 Deluxe and hugely regret it. I hated the BE and sent it back. WAY too much bottom end. I tried a Twin Sister and that was better, but still too bassy and not what I wanted. Not sure whether to get another AFD or get a mid-late 70's JMP 2203 or 2204. I had a 1982 JCM800 2204 years ago, but didn't have an attenuator to make the most of it.
@@BionicSammich I just doesn’t worth the sell. Those heads are limited, and worth more than the 4000$. the search is never ending lol
They just have to stay part of your stock
@@BionicSammichi have the Twin Sister too. Try the Buxom Boost pedal to control the EQ and give it extra control.
@@antonego8356 I sent back the Twin Sister. I just can't understand why the 0 isn't 0 when it comes to the bass. 0 on the Twin sister is like 7-8 on my Marshalls. I ended up going for a 1977 JMP 2203 with a Legendary Tones Mr Scary. Much more my flavour of sound. I still think the 1959 circuit is the ideal one for me though.
Please reissue the afd100…. Freaking amazing beast!
OK, so are we gonna reissue the AFD100?
That would be pretty killer as the examples on the used market go for a mint.
I love the look of the AFD 100. That black face plate is way cool!
Those are rare and represent a limited signed run. The majority (like mine) have a silver faceplate. Yeah, both are great looking and sounding amps! 👍
I used to have the baby brother, the SL-5. I’d probably still have it if it had an fx loop. Great sound from it though.
The AFD100 is a killer amp! I used to play a Korean PRS with Antiquities through my buddy's AFD100 and it sounded great. His Les Paul sounded even better through it.
Used to have the SL5. Would love to get one again but with an effect loop
it would be great that marshall releases a new slash amp 😀
Great playing there.
Reissue them!!!!!
oh my god, priceless amps !! do you guys will do the YJM again maybe ?
Like most people here, I grabbed a Silver Jubilee Studio but would absolutely love to own a Slash JCM one day
Damn that JCM sounds good! Need that
The amplifier from marshall, have a tone what remember a slap in face and this is awesome!!
Nothing beats a Marshall 🤘!!
Nothing beats a good Marshall, but hat's like finding a needle in a haystack.
I have an original 1987 Narshall Silver Jubilee 2555, along with the matching 4X12 speaker cabinet.
why isn't the marshall logo centered vertically
Gibson wised up and made Slash's signature stuff standard product lines. When are you guys going to wise up too!?!? p.s. love Marshall!
The AFD 100... the power comes from the volume, i heard the amp at a slash concert in 2012 and it sounded fantastic. the amp does not feel comfortable at the volume in the rehearsal room, it needs more volume than it is cool👍👍
siento decirte que muy probablemente escucharas un silver jubilee original de 1987 y no el afd100
@@adrianosanchez4355 okay... how do you know that? Compared to the Apocalyptic Love CD, the sound was rather warm... which fits the jubilee👍
@@adrianosanchez4355 de hecho en esa época específica '2012' si uso los Afd100 también Jcm800, hay un vídeo en yt dónde los muestra su técnico
For a lot of people saying the afd100 kind of sucks, you have to play it through some v30s or greenbacks, and it really only likes hum buckers.
JCM SLASH IS JUST NASTY! 🔥
Need to do another run of these amps.
A 20W combo version of either one of these amps would be a dream come true
you could also get the same tones from a dsl40cr. it comes with a downswitch to 20w and has more gain than you'll ever need. i use it with a les paul studio and an sd-1 for boost sometimes
That's what the Silver Jubilee 20w is
@@mrcowlick7537 dude thanks for this answer, really. I've been thinking about buying a Marshall, and I've struggled with the choice between the Origin 50 and the DSL40CR. Did you keep the stock celestion speaker?
@@elbik95 yep. i found the speaker sounds great provided you drive the tubes
I feel lucky to own 2555SL. Got it 7 years ago when the price was acceptable.
Nice, sure would be nice to see some new amps from Marshall tho.
No Doubt, agreed, as well everything has increased 300-500 US dollars in one season. The Cabs I am talking about. What is that about. Demos are now selling more for more than new models a few months ago. Prices are out of sight rocket queen land. I suppose the JCM 800 will be 4 grand soon.
So when you going to reissue those?????
Great video and tone again. Always love your playing as well, mate!
Can't touch superleads. My all time fav.
Marshall 2205 50w head into a 4x12 is My favorite.
Killer demo. Any chance of making these as 20Watt smaller heads in the future?
2525H
I still reckon I can get those sounds out of my JVM410 with a couple of tweeks through the FX loop.
I have no issue copping these tones with my JCM2K DSL with the right cabs/mics/EQ. JVM should be just as easy.
Keep dreaming and stop being jealous of those who have these amps.
@@M81_WOODLAND Stop lying.
Yeah! Heaps jelly. You can replicate these sounds with a cheap ir setup on a laptop
Does the jcm Slash have 3 filter capacitors?
What a great sound. I’m in love 😍 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
it would be great to have this vid with a les paul with seymour duncan humbuckers.. great vid..
That AFD100 is a pretty cool sounding Marshall! Was there any clean setting or no?
I never vibed with my AFD 100. I need to sell it actually. It’s been sitting there since I bought it new. I love my 2555 though
Great sound from both amp...like it
Will they get back in production….?
I owned a 100wts silver jubalee and i always wondered how different as far as tones does the jcm800 slash is from the silver 2555x?
soon a reissue ?
I played on an afd100 back when it was brand new, honestly I wasn't very impressed with it. I think it's better to get a jcm 800 or jmp master volume and modify it with the Frank Levi super kill mod.
I agree. I bought it then traded it in. Too thin sounding. Not enough bass
It has to be played with celestion v30s otherwise it sounds terrible. I tried it with my '78 cab with black back Hs in and it just sounded so bad, same settings through the v30 cab and it's so much better. Only likes humbuckers also. The thing is only really set up for Slashes tone and there for you need to keep his rig. As I said, sold my eventually, all about the Jmp 2203 now (original obviously)
@@notsosure7757 interesting, I didn't know that. Maybe if I did, I could have had a better impression.
Reminds me alot of the JCM900. Both great amps but an 800 beats it any day
I kept the Slash JCM 2555. I had the AFD100 it;s trash and got rid of it after 2 hours playing it. Total junk
Come on Marshall...you left Slash move on to Manatone? When you think of Slash you instantly think of Gibson into a Marshall. You made all of these studio version amps. Maybe you should have made a Slash studio version amp. I mean for real guys...we all know he saved Gibson. Well he didnt do to bad for you also. A studio version of this amp would be sweet...just saying.
Seen slash / GNR play a million times live since the get in the ring tour back in the 90's.
Saw him in Bangkok back in march and he was using the magnatones. His tone really was nothing particularly special. Sounds much better through a marshall.
With that said is the 2555 SL back into production or is this a teaser and still only the 1996 made are around? Both amps are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
sorta but its known as the 2555x Silver Jubilee.
I can't see them doing that if they're just black Silver Jubilee's.
Killer demo
The AFD has alot more twang to it and is extremely woody sounding . Sounds more like charged up 1959 super lead which is what the amp used on Appetitte was. A higher gain version of the 1959 super ĺead .
I would have loved to hear those amps with a les paul loaded with the Duncan slash signature pickups .
The slash pickups are amazing. I use a pair in my d Angelico and even with the covers off they have a lot of low end. I have a les Paul with covered Seymour Duncan antiquities and it is a little too bright for me tbh
They need to reissue the afd100
@4:07 YES MATE. Great sounding amp. Just whack a SD-1 boss pedal infront of it for moooore D stortion!!!
please do a jcm slash reissue (or a silver jubilee in black and gold
Tengo el del 96, en magníficas condiciones, fundas originales documentación, footswitch….😊
I've got an AFD100, before that I had a JMP-1 and 9200 rig. Now I'm GAS'ing for a Plexi and a JVM410h, it never ends! Come to think of it, I've never played a valve amp that wasn't a Marshall in my life! 🤣
Cant go wrong with a 410
I had 410 for a few months and then had AFD for 7 years. So dynamic amp and also unforgivable, you know what I mean? The best Marshall I've ever had (many).
@@azlakki Yeah, Marshall's don't hide your mistakes, that's for sure haha.
I just want a small solid state slash amp, kind of like the old lead 12 combo
Yeah🤘🤘
I have afd100 sce ! Serial No.99 ❗️
I gotta say it.
I dont like the logo. It literally looks like she is shi**ing on the Marshall name...
As for sound...
Sounds like a typically AWESOME Marshall to me!
Love you guys - thankyou for being such a reliable creative partner over these last 30+ years
Afd-100 has knob behind where you can choose how hot you using it. Lot of these youtube videos sounds cold.
Does anyone know the model of the cabinet ? It was sold at some point ??
Is Marshall remaking the AFD100 signature amplifier in 2021 or what?
I've owned both. The first Slash JCM 2555 is really nice and I still own it. The AFD100 sounded horrible to me and got rid of it ( I don't even like the sound of it in this video )
Yea the first one sounded WAY better to my ears. Like I feel compelled to emulate that sound immediately. The second one sounded kind of thin.
Any clean sounds?
The 2555sl is the better amp 👍
Mamma santissima!!!🤟🏽
❤
I’d love someone to make a faithful plug in sim of these
Mercurial has an AFD plugin in their Marshall suite
sounds good, but highs rolled off like using alnico 2 magnet pickup. Too smooth gain and not enough bite or highs for most rock. Where's the Marshall in your face highs? sounds like presence on zero?
I’ll have to make do with my dsl 40cr. Outta my price range.
Reissue the AFD 100 damnit!
Wyatt a beast
I want you to build us SLASH cabinet !!
Basically the silver jubilee
Kerry King, where are you?!!!!
Isn't it a silver anniversary head ?
It’s time to make an afd50 Marshall
Marshall AFD100 Reissue Coming Soon
The Marshall logo is offcentered and it’s bugging me 🐛
Owned an Afd 100 for a while. Fantastic amp, totally nails Slashes tone. Unfortunately that's all it done so I sold it and settled for my jmp 2203 which to be honest isn't too far away from the Afd
Your post sounds like you made a big mistake, my sympathies.
@@Joshcheyka not in the slightest, it's a great amp but it just wasn't what I needed anymore. I owned it for nearly ten years and doubled my money on it when I sold it. All my gear is from the '70s including some rare pieces (all Marshall of course) and the Jmp is 1980 which is what the original Jcm 800 is based on. The day I sold the Afd I had that moment of should I sell it? I set up both rigs and there wasn't a massive difference, not enough to justify making a grand profit lol. So no, I made the right decision. Plus I'm in the UK, 2nd hand market is way better than the rest of the world. Oh and I have the added bonus Marshall is half hour up the road to me 😎
@@notsosure7757 That is very cool that you live so close to Marshall HQ, its a dream of mine to go there!
You are so right about the second hand market there, heck even the new market! before buying my Jubilee full stack in May of 2020, I contemplated buying from Andertons via proxy, because the head alone was $900 US cheaper than the UK sold Marshalls, I would have still been much cheaper despite the shipping charges, but ultimately I decided against getting a UK intended Jubilee due to the voltage adaptor needed to go from 230v to 110v, I figured that would eventually irritate me having to jerk around with that. I ended up going to Sweetwater and was treated very well with their financing.
As for the AFD100, #34 mode definitely doesn't sound like a stock JCM 800 or any stock Marshall, maybe AFD mode does since it is a 2203 based amplifier, I really don't care about the AFD mode, just #34 for its harmonics and cocked wah esque tone. You have owned the real amps I have not, I only own the 100 watt Marshall Silver Jubilee and 100 watt Marshall Vintage Modern 2466. I did try the AFD100 and JCM800 out in Amplitube and I was very pleased with both, people may laugh at Amplitube but it did very well on the nuances of Greenback vs Vintage 30 cabs as well as the simulated Jubilee vs my real Jubilee, generally if it sounds good in Amplitiube it'll be amazing on the real rig. I got some really great Jubilee tones out of Amplitube, some that I would have been more than proud to use live, but then I dialed my actual Jubilee in and its was heaven on earth, nothing beats a real amp despite the massive software advancements in recent years.
@@Joshcheyka I'm fighting the temptation of getting a jube, one sold on ebay last week for £600 🤦🏻♂️. Think I may go down the sv route, give my ears a bit of a break lol.
It’s funny, because I can recognize "paradise city" and "sweet child o mine"' parts on the video when he's playing, but maybe they can't play the original ones because of the songs's rights.
Might potentially help your video if you played anything gun's n roses related

Um sonho longe de ser real para os brasileiros.
If i had the money I would get one
Thanks your demo convinced me not to buy the one on FB marketplace
No reissues of these amps needed for me, but a 2204 would be greatly appreciated
2555 for the rest of my life😊
*face starts to melt* at 4:06
Not sure why Marshall listened to isolated GnR tracks to reverse-engineer the AFD; it was a modded amp and I'm pretty sure the schematic is online.
Gimmick amps.
Silver better
