100%, it felt like one last taste of the good old times.
Between this and You've Seen The Butcher, Steph got a hell of a lot of mileage out of the 6-0 fret pull-off. Some of the heaviest riffs ever committed to record. Love to hear it.

I’ve always loved that brutal yet elegant clean cut distortion. Never could’ve guessed it that it was a signature guitar that made that robust and clean sound.

Well, thats your list. Your choices are mostly newer though.
There are several songs that should be on a top 5 list, there simply is no top 5 with this one band.
Bloody Cape has to be on there. And so do at least 9 others, probably 20+, and each of their earlier 4 albums can, or almost can, fill a top 5.
But this is just some listing bollocks. This band can be taken holistically for what they are. Which is almost certainly the best band ever signed to major record label.
They opened with this song in San Antonio a few years back. Awesome way to start the show🤘

I am still really sad about what happened with Sergio but I've got to admit, I am super psyched about who becomes their new bass player after this. Ohms was absolute fire so I imagine they're in a pretty good position to invite whoever they think will fit best and it's not like Sergio will be living under a bridge. He's got a guaranteed career as a session musician if nothing else, it's amazing how well he managed to step into some very big (and very sad) shoes

They had the absolute perfect dude with Sergio. And honestly, Quicksand is a much better band than Deftones. Almost like they didn’t deserve him. But they were too fucking cheap to cut him in so he walked. Don’t blame him. I love Deftones but fuck that whole deal. Played like a bunch of chumps

@@batmaneatspizza Well yes but the actual song only requires a 7 string (You can look at the tab for proof), he just prefers to have an 8 string. He has stated in an interview that:
6 string: Does not play them anymore
7 string: Bare minimum, can do with it
8 string: Most comfortable for him
9 String: Fun and new, but not better than an 8 string.
The album was made on an 8 string so he just wants consistency throughout the videos :). He is also just most comfortable playing an 8 string, so when he can, he does. He even plays songs written on a 6 string on a 7 string for the playthrough videos. :D
(Lol he hates 6 strings so much tho, he played the adrenaline songs on a 7 string which is crazy, id how his strings did not snap lol.)
Imo, this song is the best metal song ever. It's an absolute banger. The riffs, the wierd singing, the even wierder lyrics, the raw energy. And It's not even my fav deftones song 🪽
