I very much appreciate your take on the two. I just found out about the wool lined and I'm considering it over the flannel lined. I'm on the top end of their sizing and I live in MN so for both extra room and warmth/longer wearing season it seems the wool is the better choice. I also appreciate your cleaning suggestions about airing it out, as I'm sure I'll have to do that.
Thanks for the comparison, hopefully they will come out with some extra colors in the wool. Have the flannel and been wearing it a lot. Like the vibe of it with all the creasing.
I have two flannel lined and just picked up the wool lined on sale! I wear XL in the flannel and the wool in XL fits perfect with just a bit of extra room for layering. The wool Trucker is warmer than I expected. Very pleased.
I live in Osaka, Japan where the winters rarely get below freezing. I bought the flannel lined in coal two years ago and live in from late November to late-March. I wish it stayed colder longer
Very helpful review contrasting wool versus flannel. At 0:50 into the video you showed yourself in two jackets side-by-side. What color was the jacket on the left side (if it was a different color). Forest green? Thanks!
I love the jacket but wish I had sized up it is a littler tight in the back and under the arms. I got mine a few years back before the show made them even more popular. They did not have a relaxed fit then. I wear a L and I'd probably take a L in relaxed fit or XL Next. I don't wear it often because it is too causal for work. SO it is more of a weekend only jacket but I feel it is either not warm enough in winter and too tight to wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath, or most often it is too warm when I want to wear it. There is a a sort period time in late fall or early spring where I can wear it over a T. If it was loser I'd wear with a thicker layer underneath
They have this one on sale for $220 now, but only have a size small. I’m typically a medium (40” chest), but do you think the extra space in the wool-lined version one would make a size small do-able for me?
@@StrayReviews Thanks. After watching a few more reviews, it seems it might be best to watch for the medium to come back. I live in northern Illinois, so I don’t think the flannel version would be good for all winter here. I’ll keep an eye out as I imagine with summer on the way, there will be more wool version sales.
@@StrayReviewsI lucked out. I’ve been randomly checking the site and just now they had one medium in chocolate for wool-lined at $250. Now I’ll just have to wait 6 months to wear it. 😂
Nope, this is the wool-lined waxed trucker. I wear a medium in both the flannel-lined and the wool-lined and found the wool-lined to be just a bit more roomy on me.
I'm kind of a smallish medium, so that's normal for me. The one that I bought a few years ago shrunk up just a bit at the bend of the elbow and the sleeves fit me better with that one.
I have a couple flannel-lined on the way to try for sizing. I didn't realize there were wool-lined. Now I don't know which I should go with. I'm in the midwest as well.
Update: I bought a flannel-lined version and shortly after the wool-lined was back in stock. I picked the wool-lined version in the end. It's beefier, the canvas feels nice and tough, it's warm but not too warm, and with the thicker wool and lining in the sleeves I feel like it holds it's shape and drapes nicer over my frame. Totally love this jacket!

Excellent! I'm glad that was helpful!

The wool in the Havana color would be pretty cool.

Great! I honestly don't know why I waited so long to get one of these.

Some jackets have that effect. 😂

That color is olive drab. I don't currently see it on the Huckberry sales page so it may be out of stock or discontinued.

Definitely. If I wasn’t able to layer underneath, it would get less wear from me.
If you had to pick one, which one would you go with?
The wool lined. However, if I lived somewhere where it wasn’t freezing all winter long, I’d go for the flannel lined.

Good question, and great price! I guess you could always send it back if it didn’t fit.

@@jamesn7156 Good idea. $220 is a great deal. But if it doesn't fit great, the deal isn't as sweet.

Cool man. Don’t see any relaxed truckers online at flint n tinder , is it a special request ?

Looks cool but a little long in the sleeve

So how do you get funk out of it if you can't wash it?
My plan is to do my best to keep the funk from ever getting in. If that fails, I’ll hang it on the clothes line to air out.
so basically its the same jacket and one is warmer than the other
Slightly different fit and weight as well.
@@StrayReviews yep bascially the same

Get both
I got my flannel lined, it's a keeper for sure!
