I’ve got this jacket coming in Coyote in a large. When I discovered the Columbia jacket I’ve been wearing was a medium , I was worried this would be too baggy. Then I stumbled on your video and I’m the same height and weight as you! I think the large will be perfect.
Looks good. Thanks for getting the first look out so fast. I like that one side of the pocket is lined unlike my Flint and Tinder but can't figure out why they didn't just fully line it. I kind of wish the buttons on the Thursday were silver or darker instead of what looks gold (brass). The corduroy is a nice touch. Pocket on the right is strange and the same style as the Flint and Tinder which I dislike. I wish they would offer a zip or button pocket there and one that's larger. Also would prefer it on the left. The few times I've tried to use that pocket on my Flint jacket whatever I put in there eventually falls out (phone, sunglasses), usually when I take the jacket off or lean forward too far. It's a very shallow pocket with no closure and the Thursday one looks to be the same. Overall it looks like a solid jacket for the price. I also like the more neutral 100% cotton lining instead of the colors on the flint. I'm curious to see what you think is the better value once you do a full review.
Had to come back and watch again. I think this just solidified my Christmas wish over the F&T. I prefer the poly satin sleeve to cotton. Stuck and bunched shirt sleeves because of my jacket is the most annoying feeling. The sleeve lining on this should solve. And the Olive color looks amazing. Pics on the Thursday site make it look “greasy”.
I think you're making the right choice if you don't like bunchy sleeves! I will say, though, that the "wool-lined" F&T version does have the poly sleeves. So if you wanted to go heavier and like that aesthetic, the wool-lined option is there. BUT - the Thursday isn't greasy at all in person. It's actually quite nice feeling. Great review! I have a waxed jacket fetish! I did not realize that Thursday had waxed trucker.. it seems pretty sweet. I just purchased the Billy Reid waxed and its awesome. A lighter weight for sure tho. My favorite of the 7 i own is the Cold Smoke Saltire waxed trucker. Simply a great jacket that is no longer produced. Tx again

@rockymtnstyle the iron resin scout is on my list! The Billy Reid is really, really nice but definitely a little light. The Todd Snyder Wool lined waxed Dylan is a beautiful jacket. It worked well in its first NH winter. There is a company called Woodroad Gear has a waxed trucker currently $100 off..for $75 it looks like a steal ... probably not a top end jacket but seems solid!
I think I'm going to get this jacket. I have the F&T waxed trucker in XS, and it fits but it doesn't have much room, (actually wearing it in my pic lol). The Thursday looks like it might give me a little more room.
Dickies cam out with a waxed canvas jacket, chore (199) and Eisenhower (189) jackets. I was looking at the charcoal gray Eisenhower. It looks like waxed canvas is picking up steam. 👍
Good video and a nice jacket but idk if you mistakenly stated that the flint and tinder pockets aren’t lined but they are lined with flannel. The same interior lining . At least the one I have is . Don’t know if there was a different version of the jacket and updated . But anyways good video thanks for the information 👍🏼

Hey, Damion! Just did some measurements for you...from the seam that connects the collar to the jacket on the back to the bottom of the jacket the F&T in medium is 25.5 inches and the Thursday in large is 26.25 inches. My guess is the same size in both would be spot on for length.

Hey, Thursday’s website says this is made with 10oz canvas, which sounds much better than the 7oz from F&T. Can you feel the difference in heft by comparison?
Good question. The F&T quotes pre-wax. Post-wax it's 9.45 Oz, so almost indistinguishable. And I think the lining is a bit thicker so they feel pretty much the same.
Have you done an official review on this jacket yet? I’ve seen the comparison but you don’t show much of the jacket in that vid. Would love a more thorough look at the details of this piece as well as your impression after some real use. Also super curious about the tan colorway on these. Nobody has any videos of that one yet. 😢

I really wanted to like the flint and tinder jacket. I am usually a medium in everything, but I tried both the medium and large and the shoulders just didn't fit me at all. I felt like I had no mobility. Would you say this jacket has more room in the shoulders than the flint and tinder? Thanks!
I had to get my F&T Large tailored and it still didn't fit as I'd like; I'm very built, wide shoulders and a v-taper, shoulders barley fit in the large FT and the midsection was basically barrel...so I need a large shoulder, medium mid-section...hoping this one works out...plus I got the grey and it doesn't really look that waxed.
Easier to slide a long sleeved shirt into Thursdays polyester sleeves versus FT. Too bad about the partially lined hand pockets and the interior pocket being on the right side- makes me wonder if they ever tried using their jacket before selling it? On the plus side, I guess the hand pockets won’t wear out at the bottom
That new moniker on the button makes me think that maybe they're considering getting into the "heritage" clothing scene kind of like what Huckberry does?
Crazy, right? I also have one of their leather jackets, the Keanu. It's great. Having the sleeves tailored right now and we I'll do an in depth review when I get it back. Actually my first YT video was that jacket... It's got more views than any other, believe it or not.
Good question. I think it depends on how naturally hot and cold you are. I wore it out today and it was around 56 degrees and sunny and I ended up taking the jacket off and sticking with my flannel. So if you like being warm or if you run cold, I'd say it would be perfectly fine in most spring scenarios.
If the sizes were the same id say the F&T is slightly slimmer. Hard to get an exact read since the Thursday large is sort of in between the F&T large and medium. But cut-wise, F&T a little slimmer.

I have a long torso for my height and an athletic build so usually jackets that fit me well in thr shoulders are a bit too wide on the waist on me. Im 5’7, 155lbs. Would you recommend a Small or Medium for the f&t?

The price point is too high to compete with a made in USA Flint and Tinder. If it was half that, around $150, then maybe. But I'll always pay a premium for a product made in America.
They are actually remarkably similar in weight/thickness. So close id say the difference doesn't matter. Of course, Huckberry has a wool version that is heavier than both.

I think you're making the right choice if you don't like bunchy sleeves! I will say, though, that the "wool-lined" F&T version does have the poly sleeves. It's hard to choose even owning both for a long time. With a tshirt, I prefer the F&T. With long sleeves I prefer the Thursday.

Hi, Mal. Yes, it does have more room in the shoulder. The overall fit is slightly more relaxed than the F&T for sure.

Athletic! I'll be honest, I didn't even notice the different fits. Glad I randomly ordered this one.
Looking more closely, I don't actually see an option on the website for different fits. Although, the tag on the jacket does say Athletic Fit.
