    For your next video. Buy a Freenote cloth riders waxed jacket. Maybe an iron and resin cruiser !! 🔥🔥. If ya have the patience … order a ship John wills and wait 2 years and you will find the pinnacle of all waxed jackets ! Great video tho !! Keep it up !! 💪🏻💪🏻

      Thanks for watching! I actually did consider an Iron and Resin jacket when I was shopping around. Maybe eventually. As for a Ship John Wills, I've seen those too while perusing the internet. I don't know that I have the patience to wait 2 years for a jacket though 😊

    Great review. I was deciding between 2 similar jackets also so thought I would share my thoughts if it helps others. I got the LINED TIN CLOTH CRUISER JACKET from Filson in an XS and the Flannel-Lined Waxed Trucker Jacket from Huckberry in a medium. I am 5ft 7 also but my waist is 34" and chest is 40"...
    I found that the Filson was a just way too heavy a material for what i wanted to use it for - which is to basically wear it around town. If you were planning on using this for what it was made for i.e. working jacket chopping wood etc then it would be perfect as its so hardwearing it would probably last a lifetime... however it was just too ridged. I guess in time it would soften and get easier to wear but I didn't want to take that risk.
    The Huckberry however is like someone else spent time wearing in the Filson and all the hardwork is done! Because its lighter weight it just feels way better and much more suited to what I want. Probably not as hardwearing as the Filson but that remains to be seen. Anyhow I plumped for this one over the Filson. Not cheap mind - I'm from the UK and after import taxes from the US I paid £350 which i think is about $450 at todays rates. I actually bought it from Amazon and they sorted the taxes so i knew what i was paying from the outset.

      Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts. I can tell you that yes, the Filson absolutely does soften up a bit and it starts to kind of mold to your body with wear. I've been using it a lot lately over layers (usually a thinner fleece hoody or flannel shirt and a t-shirt or long sleeve base layer) and it holds up great as a shell in chilly weather.

      I haven't tried the F&T jacket on, but I have the Filson cruiser and it IS thick and heavy. A bit too much at times, but the thing is bulletproof! Ideally I'd like the same Filson jacket in like a 10oz cloth instead of 14oz.

    Hi, does the filson jacket patina quicker?

    • @Lonefyre1980
      @Lonefyre1980  Месяц назад +2

      Hi. I don't think either jacket develops patina faster than the other. Patina develops/happens based on your use of the jacket. It comes from the jacket molding to your body, developing creases where you move, and just being exposed to the elements. So the more often you use the jacket, the quicker the patina will develop. Thank you for watching.

    What are your measurements if you don’t mind me asking? I’m trying to decide between an XS or S. Im on the shorter end height wise.

      Hi. Thanks for watching. I'm 5ft 7, 15 inch neck, 37.5 inch chest, 29 inch waist. I typically wear 32/33 sleeve length for shirts. I wear an XS in both the Flint and Tinder unlined and the Filson short lined cruiser.

    Nice review! I would like to get the Filson but I don't know if I have to buy an XS or S.. I'm 173cm and 68Kg (around 100cm chest circumference) what do you suggest me? In Levi's trucker i wear an S. Thank tou!

      Hi. Thanks for watching! You could honestly probably go either way. Depends on how much layering you want under the jacket. I would recommend a size Small based on your measurements just so you have a little more room in case you want to wear more than just a T-shirt under the jacket. You could always buy both an XS and an S and return the one you like less. Hope this is helpful.
