      Yeah, I don't mind a bit of extra length in the sleeves as it keeps them from riding up when you're reaching, but the size Small I sent back, like I said was just way too much sleeve length for me. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for posting a video about Docs saying “I wear them because I like them”….because a lot of people buy and wear them for that same reason. I have five pairs, 1460s (red), 1461s tassel loafers etc. When I first started dating my now wife of 28 years….She’d wear her green 1461s with a very short dress and she was a Doll (and still is) ! But that’s what I think of when I wear Dr Martens! Thanks for this awesome video! Happy New Year best to you and yours in 2025!

      Honestly, I have not tried out the Atom from Arc'teryx. The Atom has synthetic insulation so it's not really a fleece. It would be more comparable to the Patagonia Nano-Air which also has synthetic insulation and water/weather resistant fabric. (not to be confused with the Nano-Air Hybrid). Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for sharing. I have both Doc Martens, Gripfast, and Solovair. The pair I wear most of the time is the Solovair matte black greasy leather. These are in fact work boots. You might not agree with me but they are definitely work boots especially if you get the greasy leather which is more durable. The Gripfast are also work boots and you can get them with steel toe. I found the Gripfast to be uncomfortable. The greasy leather Solovair fit perfectly like a pair of gloves, and I can walk around in them all day and they are good on the feet. A lot of people will still wear tennis shoes, sneakers or running shoes on work sites where they are doing repaving and installing swimming pools. That kind of footwear gives you little protection compared to a standard pair of 1460 Doc Martens even without the steal toe. I don't know why people wear sneakers to work sites like that, but I would be there with my Docs and I'm always scratching my head why they don't get a pair of Docs as well to protect their feet on that kind of work site. If OSHA ever came around and they saw that they would be written up, but I would be fine working in my Doc Martens work boots. These Boots were made for Working

    Hi, does the filson jacket patina quicker?

    • @Lonefyre1980
      @Lonefyre1980 2 месяца назад

      Hi. I don't think either jacket develops patina faster than the other. Patina develops/happens based on your use of the jacket. It comes from the jacket molding to your body, developing creases where you move, and just being exposed to the elements. So the more often you use the jacket, the quicker the patina will develop. Thank you for watching.

    I own a lot of boots. Heritage boots. Dress boots. Work boots. Duty boots. Most of my boots are better leather quality, Goodyear welted, stitchdown construction, Vibram & Dainite soles, et cetera. Dr. Martens do one thing for me. The AirWair sole. It's one of the best feeling soles under my feet. We all have different feet. My feet enjoy the soft, bouncy step.

    I got lucky and just recently bought a pair of those Dublin’s off the ReWair site and man they are great boots. I've had my Rainbow double layers for over 3 years now. They get more and more comfortable as they mold to your feet. Foam has teeth marks (battle scars lol) from our dog. The leather footbed separated a little by the toes this year, easily fixed with a little Shoe Goo. Soles are still intact, but definitely gotten slick by the heels.

    That was good information man. I am thinking about getting a pair of Chaco sandals because I do a lot of kayaking 🛶 & i have to kayak 🛶 barefooted 👣 because I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was young & Flip flops 🩴 is the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit me because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. I see a lot of people wearing the Chaco's sandals with the toe loop but i am wondering if my big toe would fit in them because my big toe is about 2" inches wide & the rest of my toes are 1" inches wide . I have some very chubby fat wide toes . Good video buddy thanks you for sharing this video.

      @Lonefyre1980 5 месяцев назад

      @mackjenkins7721 Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful. I didn't even know widths went to 6E. Some of the Chaco styles come in wide widths. I know the custom sandals come in wide because my customs are all wide width. As for the toe loop, with the customs, you can have them lengthen or reduce the length of straps used to your specific needs. I suggest calling them to ask. Pick the option for ReChaco or Custom Chacos when you call their customer service. They are really helpful. I talked to them several times with my first custom sandal. Good luck!

    I am so confused with Patagonia sizing. I am 195cm and 110kg and i can wear anything from L to XXL. Now I want to purchase online R1 Air fleece hoodie but can’t decide on the size. XL should do but I am afraid it would be to short on my arms

    • @Lonefyre1980
      @Lonefyre1980 5 месяцев назад

      @ratkoperic If you are concerned about sleeve length, you may want to size up. The R1 Air is intended to be a slightly more fitted top. Check the chest measurement and arm measurements on their size chart too. You can also contact Patagonia and they can provide the measurements of the actual clothing in the specific sizes you are interested in. I have found that helpful. Or you could buy two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit as well. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

    Hey there, it’s Scotty from San Diego. I love your video on the Kayano. I am an athletic 65 year old, 5’5” and 155 lbs. who just found out I over pronate when I walk. I went to Roadrunner store and they recommended Asics Kayano 30 and Glycerin gts 21. I liked them both, but Asics was on sale so I bought it, knowing I had 90 days to return. After about 2 weeks, I decided the shoe was just too much shoe for me. Maybe better for a larger person, but way too chunky and clunky for me, especially with that large heel flair. Although hesitant, you finally said it yourself. Yes, I love the cushioning, but too much of anything is too much for me. I replaced them with the gt2000 12, and couldn’t be happier. It’s still plush and cushy, but it’s smaller and lighter than the Kayano 30. They still have a wide base with the same Pure Gel and FF Blast + midsole, but it’s about a 35mm stack with 8 mm drop, and only weighs 9.7 ounces. The medial pressure/ support is more noticeable to me in the gts 2000 12. Not in a bad way, but if you don’t over pronate, you may not like it. I like them so much I bought a second pair on sale for $63. I also rotate in my New Balance 860 v13 I bought for about $100. I had to go a half size bigger but they are also incredibly comfy and cushy using their Fresh Foam X in the midsole. I feel little to no medial pressure/ support in the NB 860, although you can feel the outside stiffer foam on the higher medial stack. I’m not sure what the hell I would do with a 4th pair of walking shoes, but I still have my eye out on the Brooks gts 20 version at $100. It really is a great shoe, and I know you gave it an excellent review. Maybe I’ll just be patient and wait for the 21 version to go on sale next year. Happy trails, and stay healthy!

      @Lonefyre1980 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching! I appreciate your input. I'll hopefully get around to doing a follow up video on the Kayano 30s. Cushioning is still going strong, but over the miles, they just feel more.... sluggish(?) The GT 2000s are an excellent choice. I may be going back to Brooks for my next pair of running shoes.
