Complaining about each game being separate? Really? Just because it's called a collection doesn't mean everything has to be in a single app. Besides they will probably sell these games separately too so it's easier this way.
Nope, this is the same version as the one on ps vita. It even still says 2011 in the title screen. This version doesn't have that. It's missing quite a bit of content unfortunately.
i agree the issue with the saves are annoying and with the graphics could of been better and alot more could of been done i like the fact i can now play them on the ps5 but will be outdated when a PS6 comes out i have not noticed major differences tho i thought there would be
My personal disappointment in the Master Collection is with MGS1, no option to play the games in HD Resolution after playing the PSOne Classic on PS3, PSVITA and PSTV, the lack of true Analog Controls, similar to the Remastered FFVIII and FFIX and the MSX2 Metal Gear 1 still not retaining it's original Frame-Rate.
Konami using the Metal Gear Solid name to exploit fans into thinking it'll be a proper remastered collection. To be fair though the title doesn't saying remaster it says 'Master.'

I'd say a very good review. At this point we all know the MGS games are classics, a lot of fans like myself already own multiple copies of these games, so we are interested in all the bonus content that comes with it. To see that it's a convoluted mess is a bit disappointing personally.

Some of the best games I’ve ever played. My love of MGS always gets my money eventually.
Over priced imo should cost 30$ at most . For the "upscaling" nothing feels upscaled. But that's just me.
I’ll be picking this up today for both PS5 and Switch 😊
Are both the versions good
@@AaaJjj-qy5ny both are fantastic!
I got mgs1 since ots the only one not on xbox...but I feel like I can skip 2 Nd 3 since I already had the HD bundle that came out forever ago. Legit thought they were going ti do some kinda crazy upgrade.
I would love if they brought back metal gear raiden again great game
Rising. Is on xbox store
I can’t stand the argument for an old game have “outdated” visuals and making it a con than a pro. Just stop. Nothing needs to be adjusted. I’d rather have the game as close to the OG as I can.
Snake? Snake?!?!! Missed that shit.
I play mgs 1 on my psvita and mgs 2 and 3 on my psvita all look great! So much cheaper yet its still mgs.
Newcomers will find this a good deal here play them in one disc. Mgs 2 still a game you can have lots of fun and mgs 1 still has that classic look.
With psvita you play the 3 games with oled screen which looks lovely.
I might get this when it's cheap pre owned but I'm happy with psvita being able to play all 3.
I’m on the fence with this one, I played MG when it first came out! I wanted this remastered version to at least have a coat of paint, even at least like the GTA remaster version but we didn’t even get that 😢 regardless you deserve a 👍🏽 great review brother!
Complaining about each game being separate? Really? Just because it's called a collection doesn't mean everything has to be in a single app. Besides they will probably sell these games separately too so it's easier this way.
If you can, buy the PC version as mods will actually Remaster the collection
Oh ya gonna go PC on this one, wait for a sale and mods
why, i play mgs3 on emulator in 4k60fps with upscaled textures
this collection is a cheapest cash grab ever made
@Dar1usz I emulated mgs3 hd but its hard to play without the ps3 controllers pressure sensitive buttons
i use SCP DS with ps3 controller and emulator is recognizing pressure@@dylanb2443
true for the mods, but might as well do emulators then. i buy to play on switch.
It seems like a good game to pick on Black Friday or some kind of good deal.
A question just hit me: Will the skateboarding minigame be included? Eh, probably not...
Nope, this is the same version as the one on ps vita. It even still says 2011 in the title screen. This version doesn't have that. It's missing quite a bit of content unfortunately.
I only ever played MGS1, so got this to finally play 2 & 3 at last.
They should of included twin snakes
i Do kinda wish there was PC controls It would've been possible...
i agree the issue with the saves are annoying and with the graphics could of been better and alot more could of been done i like the fact i can now play them on the ps5 but will be outdated when a PS6 comes out i have not noticed major differences tho i thought there would be
this is going to be my first metal gear experience i hope it is worth the hype
This collection basically confirms to me that MGS4 will be an emulation and will still be at 720p sub 30fps
Pcx3 is the way
My personal disappointment in the Master Collection is with MGS1, no option to play the games in HD Resolution after playing the PSOne Classic on PS3, PSVITA and PSTV, the lack of true Analog Controls, similar to the Remastered FFVIII and FFIX and the MSX2 Metal Gear 1 still not retaining it's original Frame-Rate.
Konami using the Metal Gear Solid name to exploit fans into thinking it'll be a proper remastered collection. To be fair though the title doesn't saying remaster it says 'Master.'
Waiting for the price drop
30fps is kind of grim for MGS1.
MGS1 logic code is tied to framerate. To bump it up would require quite a bit of work, more then Konami was willing to invest evidently.
@@HydefHyde I think the PC version can run at 60fps (what I played recently and I didn't notice it being at 30fps). Apparently emulating the PS1 version at 60 isn't possible probably for the reasons you say
@@BurkusCat The PC version is 30fps too, unfortunately. Believe me, I have tried everything possible to play MGS1 at 60 😅
I actually prefer that they are separate on PS5, just wish each game had its own background, that would be 10x cooler.
It’s interesting that in the 5 apps, some use X as the action button while others use O. I’ve never seen a collection that’s so clearly disconnected in its composition.
As someone who doesnt own the games on PS3, these untouched ports are fne by me. I prefer the dated visuals because that is what they were like at the time, and is the authentic vision of the developers. A PS1 game at 4K with crisp AA feels weird to me
It's not a untouched port, they did some things even worse. Just enjoy your experience nothing wrong with it. But even the Bluepoint version wasn't flawless. Mgs 1 looks like Vaseline and worse then ps3 somehow:p
I was very late to this series, my first game I played in December was rising - which made me want to get into the series. Played 1-4 2 months ago and currently on 5. The master collection I got on ps3 was expensive. This doesn’t seem worth it - it’s literally the exact same thing.
My Switch coopy has arrived today a day early, i can't wait to get home and play it!!!!! I love these games so as long as they're playable with no issues I really couldn't care less how many apps they stick on the home screen
Got my ps5 copy Friday 4 days early
@@willjohnboy and..........is it any good? Do the games play well?
It's a collection of games that at least works, no bells or whistles or whatever. But I would recommend the PS5 version. It feels as if the PS5 version was made first and the rest were rushed.
I think I saw this on sale on the PlayStation store for $15
I’ll probably wait for it to drop down to 20 to 30 pounds.
They should have made Metal Gear Solid Graphics just like GameCube I just like how it looks better than the PS1 version
Konami being Konami. So lazy not to improve the experience at all... no optimization, no better fps or resolution...
It's a shame, since I absolutely love the series (Vol1. games in special)
Mgs on my psp now
The best thing about this is metal gear 2 platnuim is way way easier
Oh interesting, what changed with it?
Konami is a sinking ship without hindsight or vision. Somehow, Hideo Kojima still manages to keep them going... No wonder he left.
3 classic games there but not picking it up yet
Each MGS game is $19.99, if ya buy them separately for PS5
Emulators needs their own launcher for each game
I just want to know if the graphics are better. That’s it, I think 98% of us have beaten the game multiple times.
Lazy ports
Konami! Lazy! Noo 😅
I'll stick with the proper "remasters" on the PS3. Thanks, but no thanks Konami.
Then you're the perfect guy to ask.. I got a PS3 in great condition and also a Switch.. Granted I planned to play on Vita but my system suddenly died.. Thus I'm a little torn.. And my MGS 1 & MGS4 physicals are gathering dust.. I want the entire collection at my fingertips before I tackle it hard lol
My most important question:
Is Japanese voice acting an option for all three games? :D
Was interested, but not at 60$. 😢
49.99. To much for this. 24.99 more realistic. Time will tell if it don't sell so well it will be in the sale
I'm pretty sure MGS was running 60FPS (or 50 in Europe) on PS1.
Nope, it was definitely 30fps.
MGS2 did run at 60fps on PS2, however, and both 2 and 3 were 60fps on Xbox 360 and PS3.
You are complaining about the bonus content not being together and the save states? 😂🤦🏻♂️. Terrible review. Also MGS integral is new for us… Jesus
I'd say a very good review. At this point we all know the MGS games are classics, a lot of fans like myself already own multiple copies of these games, so we are interested in all the bonus content that comes with it. To see that it's a convoluted mess is a bit disappointing personally.
Really? I love that he pointed out how sloppy it was.
Good review. I wasn’t expecting to hear much about the games since we all know these are great classics. We are supposed to hear how Konami bring them to this current generation. Which is a disappointment.
MGS fans: The Twin Snakes remake is a horrible way to remake Metal Gear solid. The original is the only way to play Metal Gear solid.
Also MGS fans: the original Metal Gear Solid is unplayable.
Actually I've read tons of comment of people begging and begging for twin snakes. 🤷♂️
Too kind, 7 at least.
Many things need still be downloaded and is not on the disc.
Wow a review that actually tells me what i want to know, resolution and framerate
It's funny how when metal gear solid 1, 2, 3 and 4 came out absolutely no one needed to talk about fuckin' fps. But, you also were not paying a grand plus for a GPU or close to that for a console. Man gamers are taken for a ride thanks to buzzwords and ego.
always have. remember the bit wars from early 90s?
You can play with better graphics on PS1 emulator like DuckStation on a Laptop. 😅
Damm 1080p 60fps
