Hi Marie, I just made this last night, I really like it. I made a small 100g batch, unfortunately I used SCI flakes, which took forever to melt. I made another batch, 200g, but I ground the SCI first. It cut my time easily by half. Thanks for the formulate. I also made one of your conditioner formulas and that is the only conditioner I have used since.
This is just amazing Marie!! I love Cetaphil Cleansers and lotion and haven't actually thought of duping them. I made a similar cleanser in the past but with 4% Emulsifying Wax NF and 5% glycerin so it looks opaque and creamy in color, can't wait to make this on weekend and see how 20% Glycerin will affect the skin feel. I am going to post it on Instagram and hashtag you. 💜
Not too long ago I was binging through SCI cleanser bar ingredients & found that Cetearyl Alcohol was used quite often as a bulking agent, I suspect in a similar ratio. It was clear that these 2 ingredients were key to these formulas I found it fascinating that BTMS would also frequently make an appearance too even though it was a cationic pairing with an anionic
I love this formula I love this kind of cleanser especially in the mornings to wash off my nightly skincare /retinol . I would love too see a brightening rosy glow moisturizer next Thank you for sharing ❤
Oh wow! this is awesome! Thanks for sharing this formulation. I always like Cetaphyl but the price 😭Hope you consider duping CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser and the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. Thanks so much for this video!
Tried this tonight and it turned out really well. Had to bust up laughing when I read the SkinChakra article you recommended for tips on adjusting pH. She referred to "many trial and HORROR sessions." Yes, indeed. 😅
Thank you for this formula. I'm going to make this once my other one runs out (another formula of yours). I love how you annunciate your words, which is great for me hard of hearing.
since lathering is not necessary (or even achievable), I like to apply this straight to the face without water and gently rub in circles all around the face and eyes, then rinse off with water or wipe it off using a damp cloth. it's a lot easier and less messy this way since the gel consistency stays thick vs thinning out w/ added water
Hi, Marie, I am not a formulator, but I love watching your videos just for its awesomeness. Would you appreciate a suggestion ? The background music this time was too loud as opposed to your usual videos where the background music is very calm and soothing and doesn't hinder with your voice. Thank You for always making the best videos ever.
I have been wanting to try out this type of cleanser from Cetaphil since their ingredients are all available in my keepings. Thanks Marie for sharing this! Definitely will be trying out your formulation soon!
I just made a batch. Had to sub lactic acid for citric acid and used 60/40 cetyl/stearic acid. It didn't bubble at all. I'm hoping i messed something up and it's not because of the alcohol/ acid sub. Going to try again.
Marie, would you please dupe Origins checks and balances cleanser? It's one of my favorites. Looking at the ingredient list, I'm thinking it's a cream soap type cleanser and could be easily tweaked to a more simplified recipe.
Hey, I ve been seeing Niacinamide in wash off products lately, i usually avoid using actives and vitamins in wash off products as i think it doesn't really benefit or absorb onto the skin. and at this small percentage maybe none, I m not sure. Could you throw some light onto why is niacinamide popping up on wash off products lately? Are there any other benefits apart from the obvious ones?
Hi, could you teach us how to make that kind of lipstick that melts on contact with the lips? Like the tarte maracuja lip balm or the lip serum from makeup by mario? Also a lipstick that has that texture is the YSL volupté shine lipstick balm that I love! but it's very expensive hahaha and I can't find this type of texture in any other lipstick :( thanks for your videos! I love your channel 😊
I used Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer in my 20's. I jad keratosis pilaris, but didn't know what it was. One dermatologist got me on topical tetracycline. I didn't need it, it wasn't an infection. Finally someone clued me in on this stuff. It's so gentle, doesn't dry or provoke oiliness.
Good morning, Thank you for the great video. Can you use the cleanser without oil cleansing first? Will it be able to remove a sunscreen from the facial skin solo? I am very grateful for an answer. 😊
Thank you Marie for another great project. I know you said that xanthan soft can be replaced by regular xanthan gum at a lower percentage. Can HEC be used?
Hi! You *could* add hyaluronic acid in the same way that it is possible to use a silk scarf instead of toilet paper, but I really really really don't recommend doing that. This cleanser is only on your skin for maybe 20 seconds-no where near long enough for hyaluronic acid to actually DO anything-so why waste an expensive ingredient that way? There's already heaps of moisturizing (cheap) glycerin in here; I'd save your hyaluronic acid for leave-on uses :) You could try including a small % of TD, though I haven't checked to see if it'll stay suspended or settle out over time.

Hi by mistake i have brought dl panthenol in gel from. And i am not able to figure how to use it. It hand to use please help. Suggest me how to use panthenol gel in formulation?
Hi Mansi! I've shared free instructions on how to use the gel instead of the powder here: www.humblebeeandme.com/project/panthenol-vitamin-b5/. Happy making!
Has it changed much since the 90s? I didn't pay much attention to skincare back then, and if I did I was buying Clean & Clear which did not live up to the name in my experience lol.
I don't recommend it; this formulation really isn't supposed to foam up, and increasing the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) will make it harsher. Here's a formulation with lots of bubbles: www.humblebeeandme.com/natural-turmeric-foaming-face-wash/

Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. amazing. is this suitable for dry skin?
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I recently made one similar because it's a huge seller in my store. I didn't use lactic acid or the xanthum gum. I use citric acid solution. Thanks
The Cetaphil version also uses citric acid

Bwahahahaha SO true, goodness-especially if a formula has a crapton of electrolytes 😅 Those fickle salty jerks!
Wow, no emulsifier! So cool! Looks and sounds beautiful ❤
I just created this and I freakin love. It I wish I would have known what I knew about using regular. Xanthan gum but it still came out great.

Hi Marie could you do a dupe of their Hydrating Foaming Cream Cleanser? It's very similar but uses more surfactants so it can be rinsed off. 😊

Hi Jeannine! I only use an oil cleanser first if I'm wearing waterproof eye makeup; this has been working will for foundation, sunscreen, etc :)
I love your channel thank you so very much ❤

question...In listed formula you list 24.27g distilled water - but in video you say 25.27 distilled water. - which should it be?
Can i use Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate instead of SCI?
How do you make the lactic acid to balance the ph?
Can i skip the xanthan gum?
If I have sci liquid how can I adjust the percentage please
Hello...I'm trying to formulate how much butters and oils make an 8 oz jar of body butters?..any suggestions?
Pls I bought a body cream that is thick can I add distilled water and a lil preservative to loosen it up

No, this one is more Cetaphil. This one (ruclips.net/video/9LiLeR6DiDU/видео.html) was Milky Jelly inspired :)
Can we increase sci to get more foam?
