I just discovered your existence and am captivated by your thoroughness and detail. Wishing you all the success you deserve and a sincere thank-you. This is all totally new to me so excited to start experimenting. I have a deep distain for this industry because of the obscene prices charged and the marketing hype that sways sincere minds into thinking tiny vials with 3 figure prices will restore their youth. I've made a few of my own simple concoctions but you indeed are the deserving superstar. Just curious as to what you determined the approximate final cost for the amount of product your recipe came to seeing that many Micellar products are asking up to $4 an ounce. Thanks again for this valuable information!
You are a genius and an amazing person for sharing your lovely and useful formulations for free. In this video, I was trying hard to concentrate on the DIY but my whole attention was drawn to how gorgeous your hair look! Thank you again for sharing this.
I make a lovely micellar water with PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, which I have found works easily as well as the store bought micellar waters. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to source PEG 6 Caprylic Capric Glycerides here in Australia - I’m sure it can be purchased in large quantities, but none of the places where I’m able to get small amounts seem to have it, so I can’t try your option and see if I like it more 😒
I'm not a diyer but I definitely want to try this! Micellar water is the only makeup remover that doesn't aggravate my skin and Bioderma is the only one I've actually like; it'll be so nice to be able to make it and it seems so simple
Right now I have made the first batch for myself. I compared it to my store bought one, which is no longer available, and I must say it is lovely! Great recipe! Thanks a lot!
My mom is taking your free mini course and is loving it. She asks me everyday if you have sent the next project. She is learning so much and wishes she could meet you in person. If anyone wants to learn more than you already know my mom recommends taking the mini course. Marie is an awesome and amazing teacher ❤️ 🎉.
Thanks for another fantastic formulation. Im sp excited to try it!! My dermatitis has been an issue all over my face for a few months now & i feel like the makeup remover wipes are using lower quality ingredients than ever these days. I only use micellar wipes & they seem just as bad. I got a 6pack of reusable cloth wipes & decided i will try your recipe & hopefully improve my skin. I do wash with gentle cleanser after i use the makeup wipes, to no avail...
Made this recipe with a slight tweak on the type of humectant I chose to use and it wasn’t any of those listed here and I also used a different hydrosol but it’s definitely amazing! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for your videos. I stumbled on one by accident, now I want to start making my own. You make it look so eazzzzyyyy, and I bet it is the way you are guiding us with all the specifics very very clearly. You are a star! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
❤️ Welcome!! Don't forget to check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com) as well if you haven't already-I've been blogging since 2011 while I’ve only been on RUclips since about 2016, so there are a lot more formulations on the blog. The blog is also where my totally free ingredient encyclopedia and FAQ live, and they're both packed with tons of super-helpful information ❤️ Happy making!
Excited to try this! I recently bought your book and discovered your RUclips channel after reading the whole book in a day haha all of my supplies finally arrived yesterday and I am chomping at the bit to make everything! Now I have to order some PEG (rest of long name here) so I can make miscellar water to take off all the makeup I’m about to make 🥰 thank you so much for sharing!
I just read the ingredients list of clinique's cleansing balm yesterday and happened to watch y8video with pep -6 I believe they use pep 5 but it's basically same ingredients with coconut oil and triglycerides
A micellar water is a cleanser, while a toner is usually for hydration and/or astringency :) There's definitely room for some overlap, though! You could include some witch hazel in a micellar water for an astringent micellar water, for instance. And thank you!
I stopped using cleansing products and started using just tap water and reusable make up pads. My skin is just fine. We don't need expensive cleansing products.
I cannot find PEG6 CCG in Singapore, can i go with Glycerin, Decyl Glucoside, and Lauryl Glucoside as substitution of surfactants? I do not mind the discomfort, I am more interested in whether the replacement is safe for my face? thanks!
It'd be safe, but also unpleasant and not as effective. I honestly wouldn't bother :( The water based surfactants simply don't break down makeup and sunscreen and cleanse as well. I have a micellar water made by Nivea that uses decyl glucoside and it's awful :/
Thank you so much for this video. I started making Micellar Water and love it. Love this formulation as well. My question is where did you get the bottles from? Thank you for all you do, I am a big fan of yours.
Hello & Namaskar Marie from Samanjana. I just love all your youtube uploads! your sense of humour and presentation is too good! Well I have a request, I have bought a lot of dry sheet masks and I have been trying several natural alternatives but not getting the right consistencies… please could you help me make a good consistency sheet mask formula…

I haven't worked with this ingredient. From my brief research it looks like the preservative ingredients related to this ingredient are Methylisothiazolinone (MI) and Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI); Izotiazolinone appears to be a group of ingredients, not a specific cosmetic preservative. Due to increasing incidences of skin irritation, I would not recommend Methylisothiazolinone (MI) or Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) \: www.cosmeticsinfo.org/ingredients/methylchloroisothiazolinone-and-methylisothiazolinone/
@@HumblebeeAndMe thank you for answering. Yes, I found a lot of skin irritation articles about this compound. I am wondering if that would mean I could not wear it around the eyes. But weird enough, it has been used as a preservative in eyedrops formulations

Hi, Marie. Do you know if PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides can solubilize essential oils (and then one could add this combined surfactant + essential oils mixture into the mostly water mixture)? Thank you.
It *can*, but I doubt it will solubilize much at this usage level. I don't recommend increasing the % in order to solubilize essential oils as I noticed even a 0.1% bump in created a less pleasant skin feel. It could definitely work in other formulations, though :)
Yes Marie as you know the mark up in the skincare industry is huge! A total rip off and a lot of hype. Sadly this surfactant is not available in the UK. ☹️ Very nice formula though 😊
Hi Marie. This is my mom's page I'm her daughter typing for her as she is blind. I also help her make your recipes as she loves them so much. My mom had me sign her up for your free mini course. Call her stupid or crazy but my mom is the type of person who doesn't give up or let anything stop her from living her life. Anyway way you can say that this question is crazy or stupid but is there a difference between a face toner & micellar water? I did check your humblebee & me encyclopedia and didn't see that question. My mom is so excited to take your mini course she asks me to check her emails every day. Thanks for making her happy.
Hi! Definitely NOT crazy-I'm thrilled to hear your mom is finding so much joy making things ❤️ Micellar water is to toner as shampoo is to a hair serum, or as hand wash is to hand cream-so not the same :)
She has a favorite toner and my mom uses your formulations for her use only. She listens to your videos everyday to learn how to make different things she specially your Hair conditioners. When she went to a special event last month she made the leave in conditioner and the richer one to take with her as she does have very long coarse dry hair down to her butt. I have taken pictures of the back and front of her toner bottle. Asking your suggestion would the toner she uses or your micellar water that you make be better for mature skin as she is 55 years old.
What about the micellar water in Oil? The Garnier micellar water in oil one. How can i make that Hydrating one micellar water? As simple water micellar cause my skin more dry
Polyethylene is the most common form of plastic, and when combined with glycol, it becomes a thick and sticky liquid. PEGs are almost often followed by a number, for example PEG-6, PEG-8, PEG-100 and so on. Can you replace that with something?
What other hydrosol could you use instead of lavender? And could you use the same amount as in your recipe? Not a huge fan of lavender but I love rosemary. Thank you❤
It isn't; if you read the blog post you'll see the pH is a-ok when made as written thanks to the naturally slightly acidic pH of distilled water :) I checked during the formulation process.
WHERE CAN I BUY “peg 6 caprylic/capric triglycerides”? I’ve been looking for this ingredient since I watched your video and I can’t find it. Please. Please. Would you answer my question. Thank you
Hi! I always link to places to purchase all the ingredients for my formulations in the free partner blog post, which is linked in the description box below all my videos ❤️ Sometimes those links break because they're always off-site links, or sometimes the store I've linked to isn't in your country. That's why I also have a giant page of places to shop all over the world, which you can find here: www.humblebeeandme.com/resources/. That page doesn't have every country in the world, but it does contain all the online stores I know about. If your country isn't listed, that's because I don't know about any online stores in your country. You could try looking for a local Facebook group for people who like making soap & other cosmetics-they may be able to recommend places to shop. And for some more discussion on ingredients, I recommend these FAQs: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/why-dont-you-only-use-ingredients-that-are-easily-available-globally/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/what-ingredients-should-i-purchase-when-getting-started/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/is-there-one-place-i-can-buy-everything/ www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/why-do-you-use-so-many-new-fancy-hard-to-get-ingredients/
Where would someone go about buying all of these ingredients? I was just looking on Amazon (I'm in Canada) and a small bottle of sodium lactate is 20$ alone. I've never bought ingredients like these before so I'm curious the best place to purchase them.

Sparkling water just doesn't sparkle for very long, so no. Without the ability to package the formulation in a sealed, pressurized environment there wouldn't be much of a point.
It is the same; there's more discussion of this inconsistency in the free Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on this ingredient :)

Sparkling water just doesn't sparkle for very long, so no. Without the ability to package the formulation in a sealed, pressurized environment there wouldn't be much of a point.
4mo ago. Is Lotioncrafter’s SurfPro CC-6 the same as PEG-6….. ? The INCI is listed as PEG -6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerin.
It is the same; there's more discussion of this inconsistency in the free Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) entry on this ingredient :)
Can you make a dupe for miracle balm please it’s expensive 😢
I did an analysis + ingredient list break down with a starter formulation as a Patron exclusive video late last year ❤️ Learn more @ patreon.com/marierayma 😄
Can we use mct instead of peg 6?
Damn I’ve just bought my first ever bottle 200ml but it was very cheap and seems to work but I’ll make this next time
Hii im happy to लर्निंग all ur products thanks
Is it okay to have a cloudy micellar water? Mine is not separated at all but it is cloudy. I think it’s the extract I am using
Totally fine :)
Do I dare replace the sodium lactate with witch hazel?
I just use microfiber pads and regular water
Can we get a starter kit for this, please 😊
I'll see what I can do :)
I don't know why but micellar water burns my skin n my daughter has the same problem.
I need substitution for the surfactant
Has anyone actually tried making this micellar water? Any feedback? :)
I would love to try but we can't get the peg-6 caprylic/ capric triglyceride here in Aus
That's because it's a toxin...
If I used more than one bottle of micellar water a year, I would totally do this one.
I don't even know what you guys are talking about. What micellar water is?
You are looking really pretty.
*W Great VideO..* 😊😊😊
First link doesn't work. Thanks!
Fixed! Good catch :)
Ole ole 100% easy and micelar water 🎉
Now I want a piece of chocolate 😁
Me too! 🍫😋
Man.. I was super excited until I saw that PEG-6 is not natural. Such a bummer. I specialize in things that are safe and completely natural. Would sure be nice if the beauty industry made a shift towards that.
she said it's from coconut
I want to be your student
