@@don2772 That's true, but Zeus clearly preferred using the Blade of Olympus to kill Kratos as well, since Kratos was strong enough to tank most of Zeus's attacks, but Zeus was still mega strong.
You had to retrieve the Blade of Olympus, a Blade so powerful that it banished the Primordial entities with one stroke to Tratarus, a Blade that absorbs godly energy, a Blade that contains the power of the god of war, you had to destroy the Flame of Olympus-the source of Zeus' powers-so when you do stab him with the Blade it would actually have an affect, you need to absorb Hades' soul to get stronger and match the king of the gods in might, you need Hermes boots to be fast enough to react to his lightning attacks, and to finally put the bastard down, you needed the Power of Hope.
This is why I love god of war Zeus bruh, personally my favorite version of Zeus copied from Greek mythology showing how powerful he truly is. It's not the same as the Greek one but it is accurate enough to show how powerful he is
Kratos defeated Zeus who was LEAGUES more powerfull than the Norse pantheon combined. What the FUCK made baldy Odin think that he could kill Kratos, Freya and Atreus combined
Norse is way stronger then Zeus lmfao, kratos admittedly said Thors hit the hardest out of anyone he’s fought which already means he’s stronger then Zeus lmfao.
I’d like to see the newest version of Kratos fight Zeus, seeing as how the kratos we have now is stronger than his old self without the power of the Greek gods.
Greek gods get stronger with age, so since that was a long time ago, he probably wasn't nearly as powerful as he is in that scene. If you notice, all gods in this game made quick work of the titans without much problem at all, while in the great war the fight looked pretty equal in comparison.
@@leostav750 I think it was a combination of the Olympian deities getting stronger with age and the Titans' strength being greatly reduced because their heyday was so long ago.
@@Fukei_Mono I don't think so for the second part. Kratos brought them directly from the great war to his own time, so it's not like they lost their touch because aeons passed. It's just that the gods had who knows how many years to get so ridiculously more powerful, that they had no issue destroying them in present time. Goes to show how powerful they really are and how powerful Kratos himself is.
Power of Hope the only power by Which Kratos was able Destroy Zeus . Zeus was a Cruel , Lusty God which was later consumed by Evil in Fear . If Pandora's box was never opened , Kratos could not have been able to Kill Zeus at all .
I’m pretty sure Zeus was lustful even before Kratos opened Pandora’s box. Opening the box just made him and the other gods for that matter morally worse than what they already were.
Ooohh careful bro you can’t say anything bad about Ragnarok. The new fans will rage at you for having an opinion and not agreeing with them. But it’s true, Odin fight was dog water. The Thor and Garm fights were way better.
yeah the olympain pantheon were way more powerful in these games than the norse gods are in the ps4/ps5 games. zeus would of wrecked there entire pantheon easily.
Okay so let’s be real for a moment here. Powerscaling wasn’t really in the minds of the devs when working on the new GOW. Or maybe it was, idk. But Zeus is so, so, so much stronger than Thor. And probably Odin too. Although fans are saying Kratos is stronger now, he had help from Freya and his son in order to take down Odin. Oldschool Kratos would’ve wrecked his ass alone.
Zeus solos the Norse pantheon, he has op strength, magic, intellect and durability all in one package. Feats wise he has more to offer but the Norse pantheon is better for where Kratos is mentally.
@@johnnyboy3410 Odin is pretty underwhelming in the new games, actually the only one I thought was decent and actually looked the part of a Norse god was Thor. Idgaf about “Odin is just a disguise”
Perhaps Thor, Odin, and Heimdall would be defeated, (Odin is a powerful mage, but he only showed his powers during the Bossfight) Magni and Modi would be killed easily, but Baldur is simply immortal, and Freya's magic is strong enough to resurrect a giant the size of Kronos, the world serpent would also give troubles to Zeus.
It’s so funny, cuz when Zeus shoots into the sky, all kratos can do is look up with an angry face😂 I understand plot point and kratos is “supposed to win” but let’s be honest, Zeus would have won that fight and he could’ve done so without ever touching the ground to go hand to hand with kratos 😂😂
yes and as shown with qte fails, one mistake and kratos is dead. The problem is that he has the habit to think kratos is mostly dead because of the evils clouding him and heightening his senses like fear and arrogance to higher levels.
@@GhostRabbid yeah, it's their arrogance but to be honest, for all the shitstain he is before the evils, he was trying with Kratos, like God of war 1 even shows this, meaning he has a plan, and it may involve backbreaking and a whole lot of punches for both parties but in the end, he wants Kratos to understand why he did so, with his mother and brother. And also yes, if not for the evils, the gods would have even ganged up on him and for all the power he has, it would never bode well even against 4 Olympian gods and Heracles providing support with monsters at his command, especially when said three of them are the strongest.
@@GhostRabbid Yeah. Without the evils Kratos and Gaia could have never challenged Zeus reign like that. Zeus was a mastermind schemer and plotter and solidly ruled the universe and over the Gods.
When people talk about which pantheon was stronger. I think the Greek pantheon would overpower the Norse one in pure power. But the Norse pantheon had more spells and techniques to compensate should they fight.
Norse has some strong stuff (Baldur immortality, Thor) but mostly I got the sense that Odin’s planning and smarts were the real threat. He was safe in his home dimension while constantly spying on everyone. He knew your plans before you did. And he could appear anywhere and call down an infinitely respawning army to back him up.
Did you forget that the Greek gods also have a lot of magics on their disposal? They can conjure curses, remove someone's immortality, create plagues, etch. The Norse only has Odin and the Vanir who are sorcerers while the rest of the Aesirs rely on raw strength and their innate elemental powers
The Greek Gods definitely take the edge in pure power and skill. Hell, in the lore Helios could’ve dropped the entirety of the sun on Kratos and destroyed the entire Greek world. But Zeus forbid him to.
I mean, ever since Kratos defeated him in GOW2 he lost the sense of threat really, and they kept making him look weaker than kratos for some reason, even fighting him at the end of the game Kratos overpowers him before going to stop pandora, you never get a sense that Zeus can defeat kratos in a 1v1.
I think that's a very flawed line of thinking. Just because Kratos is absurdly strong, doesn't mean that Zeus is weak. Seriously, Kratos tanked a bolt that destroyed the arm of a titan through its indirect power.
@@Crazieyboy15 The point is, kratos bested zeus phisically twice, that makes him less threatening, thats it, and is weird given that the plot of gow 3 is kratos finding the power to kill him when we saw him beat him twice, of course the reason was because of his astral form thing at the very end of the game but Zeus does not come across as equal to kratos powerwise, none of the olympians do.
@@DragonTamer31K Watch the first portion of the fight at the end of gow3, kratos overpowers zeus and even has him at his feet, right beofre pandora tries to jump into the fire and kratos goes to stop her
An even more impressive showcase was on gow2 how zeus isn't even the god of smithing and was able to create a godkilling weapon and wipe out all the titans in a single powerful blow in the great war all by himself... he was young SURE but greek gods get more powerful with age and also he's weaker in gow3 bc kratos absorbed his power into the blade of olympus when he stabbed it into his hand and his stomach.

To put into perspective how powerful that blast is, if it hit Gaia's head it likely would've destroyed it. Gaia is a being that shakes the entire earth, and makes mountains rise, JUST from her waking up according to the Novellization. She is the manifestation of the Earth. And Zeus almost One Shot her.
Damn, where can i read this? I always wanted to read stuff like this

Well sort of, Kratos beat base Zeus, Kratos only needed Hope to beat Fear Zeus, but it was a hard fight either way.
@@edwardarroyo834 Well he also needed the weaponry of the gods and the Blade of Olympus although of course mainly the Blade of Olympus.
@@don2772 That's true, but Zeus clearly preferred using the Blade of Olympus to kill Kratos as well, since Kratos was strong enough to tank most of Zeus's attacks, but Zeus was still mega strong.
Yeah they were definitely more difficult than the Norse gods
Zues could slap Odin around
To Kratos: "I will tolerate your insolence no more!" > absolutely shrekts Gaia
Her giant arm was in the way
Not only that but this is like 30 minutes after Kratos brutally beat him up in the end of God of War 2. This is Zeus weakened.
It's not the same as the Greek one but it is accurate enough to show how powerful he is
Read the GoW 1-2 Novels. Especially the first one where he is without Fear shows how badass he was and how casually he ruled the universe.

Thanks for the reminder bro , I appreciate
I’d like to see the newest version of Kratos fight Zeus, seeing as how the kratos we have now is stronger than his old self without the power of the Greek gods.
What we need in Love and Thunder.
Zeus lightning bolt in GOW3: able to take down a mountain with one hit, almost killing them.
In GOW1: Takes more than 5 hits to take out weak enemies.
Sometimes when I watch this cutscene I wonder why Zeus needed the Blade of Olympus to end the Great War, he damn near one shotted Gaia by himself
Greek gods get stronger with age, so since that was a long time ago, he probably wasn't nearly as powerful as he is in that scene. If you notice, all gods in this game made quick work of the titans without much problem at all, while in the great war the fight looked pretty equal in comparison.
@@leostav750
I think it was a combination of the Olympian deities getting stronger with age and the Titans' strength being greatly reduced because their heyday was so long ago.

What you gonna do now, Zeus ?
See this again makes me even more sad about how they portrayed Zeus in the MCU.
Zeus using the lighting spear from dark souls 2
Just his voice is full of power.
I don't care what people say about Odin being more powerful, the final fight with Zeus says otherwise. 💀
Hey that’s was kinda sus “You will no longer hide behind skirts of Athena 💀”
Zeus solos the Norse pantheon, he has op strength, magic, intellect and durability all in one package. Feats wise he has more to offer but the Norse pantheon is better for where Kratos is mentally.
Odin was ganged up by half god and god and half god and half giant just so they could defeat him
@@johnnyboy3410 Theatrics, Kratos coulda solo'd easy
@@johnnyboy3410 Kratos could have soloed Odin Freya arguably could have too
@@johnnyboy3410 Odin is pretty underwhelming in the new games, actually the only one I thought was decent and actually looked the part of a Norse god was Thor.
Best part after all that was definitely the beating the bloody pulp outta him part which the screen turned all red xD
And Kratos still kicked his godly little ass

It’s so funny, cuz when Zeus shoots into the sky, all kratos can do is look up with an angry face😂 I understand plot point and kratos is “supposed to win” but let’s be honest, Zeus would have won that fight and he could’ve done so without ever touching the ground to go hand to hand with kratos 😂😂
yes and as shown with qte fails, one mistake and kratos is dead. The problem is that he has the habit to think kratos is mostly dead because of the evils clouding him and heightening his senses like fear and arrogance to higher levels.
@@tc-channelhobby4051 zeus corrupted by fear...
The arrogance is on all of the gods.
It benefit kratos a lot like hermes fight
He would probably just drag his ass down with the blades.
"YOU CAN NO LONGER HIDE BEHIND THE SKIRTS OF athena"
@@darkemperortheobscureone694 They dont even have any innate powers. Baldr and Thor's elemental bursts are nothing to likes of Ares or Helios.
When your dad catch you coming into the late pass curfew.
Idk man I think they were pretty toe to toe until kratos got the power up
Zeus would've killed Kratos in GOW2 anyway if the fight went on and Athena wasn't there. He would've brought out the astral form

Kratos from GoW 2 intro or Ares could actually do a way better job than him at Ragnarök.

@@vlad_47 but that doesn't prove how the titans have the ability to destroy a whole realm. I know the greek gow lore, nothing you've said is proof that the titans have that same power.
