Freya went too far there. What point would there have been to ruining his trust in his dead wife? She was dead by that point, you don't have to pull a homewrecking stunt like that... Besides, she was wrong: Faye probably saw this as a path to healing for Kratos, a path to show him even a god-killer doesn't have to be a monster forever. A chance to do what he did before, but in a much better, more positive way. He probably would have been overburdened with guilt and trauma forever without this game's events happening. This was also a way for Atreus to step into his destiny, grow into his full potential, and improve the bond between him and Kratos. The risks and old ghosts the prophecy foretold were not a means of using her husband, but an opportunity to do right by him and their son.

Am I the only one who noticed the background sound getting more tense right before mimir stepped in? Then it calmed down? I like that detail, even if it wasn’t intentional, makes me wonder what would have happened if Mimir didn’t step in.

I oddly like that aspect Kratos told his wife Faye he has (pretty much) an entire pantheon’s blood on his hands, and rather then weaponize such a person who fell in her lap to end a person who’s tried multiple times to commit her race’s genocide, she just respects the fact her husband wants to wash that blood off his hands and keep them as clean as possible. I’m not saying she’s just as bad as her baby daddy, but that was cold of Freya to try to think such factors should be used to end said baby daddy.

I like this scene and this game because even when your crew are confrontational, it never feels mean spirited. Even here, even with the massive baggage between these three, you feel they're all a team and working together, even through disagreements. I think Freya is completely right and they both know it, but Mimir was right to surmise that wasn't the time or place for the discussion.

The narrative significance of Kratos' weapons is fascinating. Kratos rightfully hates The Blades of Chaos for being a reminder to his pledge to Ares that ultimately lead to him slaying his Wife and Daughter. And yet, he can't seem to get rid of them, The blades follow him wherever he goes. The chains were originally infused to his arms and couldn't have been removed. However, when Atreus got sick Kratos had to retrieve his Blades in order to help his son which is quite poetic - saving his son with the same weapons that killed his previous family. On the contrary, there is The Leviathan Axe and The Guardian Shield that Kratos' Wife, Faye bestowed upon him. Unlike the chains of the Blades of Chaos the Leviathan Axe can be thrown, momentarily freeing the wielder from its grasp but always returning to its owner thus symbolizing the love and peace that Faye taught Kratos and was able to leave him with even in her absence. It was also created by the Huldra Brothers in an attempt to restore balance to the realms after the creation of Thor's Hammer caused countless needless deaths by Odin and Thor. Likewise, The Guardian Shield is used by Kratos to protect his friends and loved ones from harm. And finally, there is The Draupnir Spear. Its lore is very fascinating. The fact that it is based on an actual ring from Norse Mythology and that it implements the concepts from the legend into the story and gameplay is exceptional. The Spear also carries great importance to Kratos' character as he is a Spartan Warrior that had learned fighting and combat prowess with a spear as a part of his training. The Draupnir Spear also symbolizes the bond that Kratos forged with his new friends and allies, being created by the dwarfs, Brok and Sindri and being used to protect Atreus from those who might attempt to harm him.

In a lot of ways Kratos and Freya are a lot alike In that they both are very much in your face when it comes to being blunt. however the difference is that when Kratos is blunt he uses sparing words in order to make a point and that mostly comes from his past and how he was forced to do a lot of horrible things and so he wouldn't want to force anyone to do something they wouldn't want to do either. but Freya is different because she comes from a place of wanting Redemption. she knows what it's like to hold on to that guilt and has forced herself to be better. but now she's forcing that on to Kratos who doesn't want that. I get where she's coming from but she's going about it in a very toxic way.

Funny how Kratos ends up fighting for the big creatures. Titans, Jotnar...

I just realized, even if Faye loved him, we dont know much about her, maybe Freya's intuition was right. Maybe Faye sent Kratos in this path not only to in the end make him a better god and better his relationship with Atreus, but maybe also to get revenge on Odin.

And people like to say Odin and the norse are strong hahahahahhaha through a bunch of statements that have little to no hold other than marketing the game.

The past digger

Freya has a point, but she's also talking out of her ass a bit and pushing Kratos through the wishes of a woman she's never met. She steps out of being a fellow woman giving her insight, and gets taken over by the need to push and guilt-trip the man into hardcore agreeing with what she wants. Mimir was right to pump the brakes on her; she doesn't _know him like that._

one of the few scenes where Freya shows that she only made peace with Kratos for her personal benefit. in this case to end the Aesir. Not that I can blame her, they are practically a mafia, not all the Aesir but you get the idea.

Like if you think mimir needs a body back

Maybe Faye wanted them to go to Joutenheim so they'd travel together, learn more about the world, make friends, socialize, live a life outside the forest, find a purpose in life and live a good life. Faye would've also wanted Kratos and Atreus to move on with their lives from her, she definitely wanted them to be happy and content and not just mourn her forever. She wanted this for Kratos to forgive himself, to redeem himself, to be a better man and to let go, and for Atreus to grow up, mature, and follow his own path.

We can't pretend that Freya didn't say what everyone was thinking.
