The Secrets of a Happy Marriage

  • Marriage, to some, may seem like an old fashioned and outdated prospect, but repeated research shows that people who remain married to one partner are the happiest, and married people live longer (see the references for this in the original article below).
    Fortunately we now know why some marriages work and some don't, and I'll share some marriage advice on what to avoid and what should be encouraged in the relationship.
    Of course no marriage is perfect, but many are happy. Happy marriages have difficulties, but follow the advice in this video and make your marriage work for both of you.

    WHat happens if you make a complaint about a certain behavior, a repetitive one, or a certain way a partner did something, but they tend to respond to this complaint in a way that shows you triggered their core, their sense of self and they show a hurt ego? What do you do if your partner feels like you're attacking their character even if you make it clear you are just complaining about one thing, something they did, or asking them to change a behavior? How do you prevent this defensiveness?
