@6DOFReviews Roger that! I gotta say... I haven't gone to sleep thinking about a game in a long time. I'm literally living out my Guts from the anime Berserk fantasy
I’m so glad I’ve still held off on purchasing this. Seems like it needs another patch or 2 to get it up to release standard. Not only will I wait for a patch but a substantial sale price before I get my moth eaten wallet out.
Absolutely love this game. It’s even better on my second playthrough. Also the combat is fantastic, just like classic Skydance. It has a learning curve. I give it a solid 8/10. Only gripe is that I wish there were more behemoths.
I managed to edit it out on RUclips's editor! I really wish RUclips would allow smaller channels to actually replace their videos to make it possible to fix this sort of flub, but they only provide that functionality (which video has since day 1) to the huge channels. Argh!
The bat battle was amazing. I wish there was more of that. Otherwise, I enjoyed my time with it. And i wish it would've been released with a Q3 specific build. Edit- I will say the only time I died was on the behemoth battle. The combat was fun, but super easy on medium against humans.
Ive put the game on hold just before second boss to see what patches and updates come out...its way better after last big patch but gonna wait a bit before returning..fair review✌️
I was enjoying the game quite a bit up until the first behemoth fight. The whole encounter was very anti-climactic: a lot of running back and forth while the behemoth sat there patiently waiting for me to find its next weakpoint, or just standing around waiting for the behemoth to stop shuffling back and forth and trigger its attack so I could do the next scripted sequence. It was hugely disappointing after all the cool foreshadowing earlier in the game. Considering the game's price and the fact that you fight the first behemoth before the 2 hour mark, I assumed there must be at least half a dozen more behemoths in the game. But then almost immediately the game tells you there are only 3 more, and unfortunately this review confirmed my fear that they suffer from the same flaws as the first one. On top of the disappointing quantity and quality of behemoths, hearing that the last third of the game is unpolished (which also seems to be frustratingly common in VR games) pretty much guarantees I won't be hurrying back to finish it any time soon. I respect what Skydance tried to do here but, like far too many "AAA" VR releases, it feels undercooked. It probably could have used another year (or more) in development. I simply can't fathom that the Skydance QA team played through all the behemoth fights - the namesake of the entire game and arguably what most players are here for - and said "yeah we're happy with these." But I think what's most disappointing is that this makes 2 games in a row now that Skydance seems to have shoved out the door before they were ready; I haven't played Saints & Sinners Chapter 2, but I've heard it was very unpolished compared to the first one. It's a concerning pattern for one of the most well-regarded studios in the VR space.
I strongly disliked it. Floaty combat, janky movement, underwhelming bosses, nothingburger level design... I don't know about this one. S&S felt and worked much better.
S&S was miles ahead. I refunded Behemoth before the day7 patch, I was too mad and disappointed. I did buy it again afterwards, I really wanted to like it. While I have played through the entire game, it did felt better than before the patch. But still so many bugs and glitches, especially during the Behemoth fights, which really gets you out of the immersion. S&S was a masterpiece from a to z. Behemoth was eventually ok, nothing special except doe the concept itself. I don't know if I'll ever revisit it again, unlike I die with S&S
It's not a bad game by any means! It just has some issues, and if you've come expecting Shadow of the Colossus in VR, you'd be disappointed :) If it was overall bad, we would have scored it far less than we did :)
am i the only one that absolutely hated the endboss? you have multiple really easy phases (as long as they dont bug..) and after each phase they make you do more platforming nonsense. everytime they teleported me into another platforming area i could feel myself getting more and more mad at the game.
While i bought the game and am enjoying it, i am a bit disappointed that skydance went from making the fun immersive but not so easy combat of saints and sinners to the absolutely OP combat of behemoth…
Sorry. I have had a great time playing rhis game. Just play what you have fun with and stop worrying if your playing what every one else thinks is awesome.
This game has been a blast to me. Stuck on the first behemoth. So ive just been going crazy on arena mode! So fun.
You'll get there :) Hold on to the mast, my friend :)

You got stuck? How in the hell?
@@MikeRavia-xp5ig guess I'm just slaw!😅 I'm past the flying behemoth now.

I actually like the fact that the third behemoth fight is less stressful so as to give me more opportunities to enjoy the views.
Great review.Think i will wait for it to go on sale before trying it.
Spot on Review.
Thank you! Spot on comment ;)

Awesome to hear you’re loving it! As a fan of SOTC - I'm totally with you on wanting more behemoths, so long as their sequences could be improved :)
7:26 - I think you forgot to edit that bit out!
@9:32 - and that part. Not to nitpick, just thought I'd add that.
haha was about to comment the same =) One mishap at 9:34 too .. it's like the game, loses polish the more you go on :P
Touché :)

I didn't know the Internet Historian was doing game reviews

Once you know the behemoths in sotc most can be beat in a few minutes. I just replayed the hd version and i flew through it.
It's not a bad game. It's not a great one either. But alot better than most jank on the headset.
That's fair to say :)
I have to say that the performance problems are not a problem on ps5.
I strongly disliked it. Floaty combat, janky movement, underwhelming bosses, nothingburger level design... I don't know about this one. S&S felt and worked much better.
Sounds like you sucked at combat. It’s not a bad game you are just a bad player.

@@christophersawdon1617 I think you have reading comprehension problems and maybe even others, by your response.
you're just bad at the combat lmao
So much better than saints. I hated that game. Zombie burnout.
I am glad that I didn't waste my money on this game

It doesn’t seem you quite know how the combat works in this game, it’s all about parrying
You’re so manly. Can we have your babies?
