    Sometimes, when spirits reveal themselves, to us, they do so in a portion of the light spectrum our eyes are unable to detect. This is the real purpose of the full spectrum cameras, the IR night vision is a bonus.

    Awesome review, what is the average battery life for night vision and regular mode?

    • @paranormaltv2478
      @paranormaltv2478  5 месяцев назад +1

      That is a great question, it really depends on what battery that you’re using, brand and output capacity and what features your camera is using. With a large NP-FH100, in standard record mode, you’re probably looking at 120 Min. The if your using the zoom function a lot, using night shot or accessing menus frequently that will affect your battery longevity.

    I've been looking for a proper camcorder after my first ghost hunt. At that time, I was using just a GoPro Hero 10 and an IR-modified Bodycam. GoPro makes good cameras, and for my mall videos by day, they work, but they're still nowhere near there for low light situations, and while the bodycam did its job well, its still an action camera with poor on-board infrared lights & a fisheye effect. I could use my smartphone, but I've never been trusting of using a phone for video, and would rather use it for picture-taking.
    Editing it all in post has had me looking at various NV cameras for a dedicated camcorder for future investigations. I'll take your word for it, though am wondering if I should upgrade to newer models of this type available. I wouldn't mind some additional insight on your part before I commit $200+ on yet another camera.

    • @paranormaltv2478

      We have stuck with Sony for years so we can’t speak for to many brands. We use GoPro’s as well-unmodified, but generally only for our RUclips series and to monitor meters. Sony does offer the sr11 and 12 which are in the same general rage as the sr 10 but offer slightly higher resolution and some additional features. You could try to find a used Sony PJ790, or upgrade to a newer 4K variant but they will run you more then $200. we still use the sr10’s as our primary investigation camcorders, they serve our needs, hope some of this helps!

      Good luck with the new camera! We use the Sony VCL-DH0730X wide angle lens adapters in certain situations, the lens hood is just the standard Sony kit addition but we seldom use them unless we are in bright environments with hard light. We can’t speak for the sr-11’s specs as we don’t use it so better look into the filter thread size before purchasing a lens adapter. thanks for watching!

      Thanks for watching, we always love questions and feedback. Most of the time C.P.I. uses Sony brand IR lights, the HVL-HIRL and HVL-IRM. We have used Sima IR lights as well as the custom ghost hunting PhantomLite series but we prefer the Sony’s as they have the ability to use Batteries over internal power supplies that have to be charged, so they can be use in outdoor or isolated locations extensively. The PhantomLites also use regular batteries and their IR light panel with diffuser is not too bad. Hope this info helps.

    • @paranormaltv2478
      @paranormaltv2478  7 месяцев назад +1

      The HDR CX405 is one of Sony’s entry level camcorders, we do not/have not used that model so can’t speak from experience. We can tell you that it records 1920x1080 HD video at 60fps, the high frame rate will not be ideal for low light. This model also lacks infrared night shot, which at the end of the day is not necessary for paranormal research, you can watch our video on night vision if you want more info about that. Picture quality is likely slightly better then the sr-10 as it is a newer model, that said the sr-10 is still wonderful and depending on your investigation needs can totally get the job done in most situations. @@ParanormalWhispers The built-in mic is a decent 5.1 channel surround mic. If your outside in high wind or there is a lot of ambient noise it is going to suffer, you also may record the occasional sound of the cameras integral mechanism. You can adjust the audio quality recording settings slightly in camera menus. The internal mic can get the job done but at the end of the day this is still a consumer camcorder and if you want the cleanest audio for say documentary work then an external mic and recorder are probably your best bet.

If the movie recorded with this function is played back on a non- x.v.Color-complient TV the color may not be reproduced correctly.” There seems to be little info on x.v. color especially past 2010. The Sony HDR-PJ780’s also had night shot with a slightly better imaging sensor, 10MP. Canon had the XA10 and that has been used on several paranormal productions. There is some debate as to wether night vision actually helps capture paranormal activity and C.P.I. users natural light cameras with fast low-light lenses all the time to great affect. We do not use the sr11’s, so we cannot claim to have extensive experience with them, that said from what we know the biggest difference over the sr-10 is a slightly improved 10mp image sensor, expanded internal hard drive space, a view finder in addition to the LCD screen and a manual focus wheel. From our experience the image quality of the sr-11 is really close to the sr-10 not sure many people could spot the difference especially in night vision mode and the tiny focus wheel can be a bit tricky to land focus with. That said from our limited experience with the sr-11 it seems like a decent camera. Sorry we can’t be of more help here…

The Sony Sr-10 does feature an internal 40GB hard drive and that memory space will get you just about 4 hours recording time with maximum resolution.
