thanks for reminding me that I have a kindle lying around somewhere in my store room.
Same
Exactly why I am skcepticle about getting one no matter what the world says
@@indujbajpai are you serious?
U can give it to me man! I don't have the money to spend on 1 anyway. And I read a lot
@@indujbajpai Yes. On social media anybody can joke about anything.
I am still a paperback guy and occasionally read through the kindle app on my iPad.
Same
I think that's the most sensible way to read e book! Why should I buy a device only for reading e book when I can buy a device which can play music, take down notes and read ebooks?
@@viktori9p895 I thought the same way until I recently bought one. No distractions and temptations from notifications, the e-ink screen does not strain your eyes at all whereas my eyes would tear up after about an hour reading on my phone. I read more in the last month than I've ever read in a year.
@@viktori9p895 Mainly due to the strain on eyes. Kindle is made specifically to read books, and it is extremely fit for that. It has an E-ink screen which does not have a glare, unlike phones/tabs and is more fit for long-time reading. Personally I am more of a paperback/hardback person, but the Kindle is the closest thing to a physical book when you're on the go. Of course it only makes sense to buy a Kindle if you are an avid reader and you want to keep reading on a screen for a very long time without worrying about your eyes or battery.
i prefer ereading devices since i can bring thousands of books wit me wherever i go, and also save up some physical space in my house
plus i get to keep all my ebooks on calibre and google drive, which is easy to manage
What algo does Techwiser use to know what is going in mind and make a perfect video?
u guys got separated sometime ago in kumbh mela 😂😁
Same here bro 🥰
Damm right, just ordered the kindle and this video popped up on my homescreen
yeah right...i also thaught for kindle 3 years back...and now it was recommended
I’m an avid reader and thought I would hate ebooks but I absolutely love my kindle!!! The paperwhite is so light and I can have tons on books while traveling or out and about! Books are cheaper so it saves space and money! If you are a big reader I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Yeah, happens to us all. People are like 'nothing replaces real books' & all that. But then they use it & go 'wow'. The pros simply outweigh the cons imo.
@@vaibhavagnihotri90 true, to a certain point. I like to use kindle (yes, I have the paperwhite) for light reading but I would definitely go for a real book or even a pdf on a desktop/laptop when it comes to academic reading. So, if it's mostly academic stuff, then it's not worth it, I recently revived my Kindle after over one year I think. 😂
@@subhobrotobanerjee2777 : Yeah. Kindles are absolutely NOT for reading PDFs. But I personally would take a print out & read. I simply cannot bear the backlight on laptops/iPads. My eyes start to hurt after a few mins. So it's either paper or e-paper (e-ink) for me. Nothing else seems to work.
not to forget the space you save in your home
Can we download the books like in pdf format and read?
Had just got a basic Kindle in the Amazon prime sale. Was having doubts. I'm very senior English professor who has been collecting books all her life. Your excellent review was very reassuring. Thanks.
I bought Kindle back in 2017 in the first prime day sale, and have enjoyed reading on it.
Pros :
1. Ultra portability
2. Don't have to wait for a book to be delivered to you. Instant access.
3. No more maintenance of physical books
@Manoj No
Shitty stuff
Bro you could just read through mobile
Cons :
1. Can do the same thing in a phone
2. Can do the same thing in a tablet and tables can run lightroom too(just a productive app example)
3. A matt protector can get you the same paperlike feeling in every single device for a fraction of a cost
4. Can buy all ebook or even get it some for free (if you know you know )
@@zawhernos2541 really? Those are really weak examples!
You assume that people have iPads or other tablets lying around the house casually. The light from the tablet would still be a screen light which has glare. Kindle doesn’t have that. Its main purpose is to read a book simple!
If you are an avid book reader, kindle makes sense since you dont need the ‘physical’ space to buy the books, and still end up getting almost the same experience of reading a book!
Dont give me lame reasons like you can do this on a phone or tablet or buy books for free. Thats just stupid and not a generic use-case!
Just because you want to do that, doesn’t mean everyone should be doing it!
I had a Kindle 4th Gen, which I used every day for 11 years and recently sold on eBay.
I've recently bought the Basic White, no ads (and no fingerprints) and after taking a while to get used to it, I absolutely love it. I don't use the built in light, except in emergencies, as I much prefer to read by natural/lamplight.
Tip. You don't need to swipe in order to turn/advance pages.
A tap, just to the right of the left hand side of the screen will do the trick.
Very handy for left handed people! 😉📚
@Infinity Good to hear that. I'm very pleased with mine! You won't be disappointed! 😉📚
Some additional advantages and features of Kindle paperwhite you didn't mention:
1. Flushed screen compared to the recessed screen of the Basic Kindle.
2. Dark mode.
3. Better build quality.
4. Color temperature of the lights can be controlled also right?
Can the color temperature be controlled??
@@parth3075 Yes the colour temperature can be controlled :))
Can you disable touchscreen
I was worried about replacing my high-end older oasis with this one ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCgPI5O2AtmcHq9SJhgsCGbpAzJAJfrJp but it is surprisingly light and the screen resolution is just as good. I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!
Crisp, clear and informative. Typical TechWiser stuff!
I bought a Kindle Basic (7th gen) on Nov 2015, bad boy is still as good as new.
Noice !
Dear Team I have one request can you make video on the lists of phones which have maximum 5G bands so they can be used across the world 🌎 in Mid Range to Upper Range . Like Moto G 5G. Hope you are reading my comment.
Yes this should be useful
Kindle should start from 4,000
Paperwhite from 7,000
And then charge whatever you want for the Oasis.
then everybody would end up buying the Paperwhite.
@@seepranavg That's good. Because lower resolution affects eyes in the long term if you read too much books.
@@gurubhaktmohit if you ise bolder settings, the pixel issue is barely noticeable
Very well explained, I am a big fan of yours simplicity. Keep up the good work 👍
I am still using Voyage for 7 years. It had 3G but no more works. 3/4G connectivity is unnecessary these days as you can always connect it to your phone’s wifi. Kindle will increase your reading time for sure so as a device (irrespective of which model you pick), it’s worth a pick!
@chinky s yes, any wifi is okay, including hotspot ones.
I have had a paperwhite since 2015, and I did read a good deal of books on it, but I still choose paperback whenever I can. Still, Kindle is excellent when portability is important. Love my kindle.
@TechWiser, even if they mention these are glare-free, some reflections are still observed. Is it someway better in case of Paperwhite in comparison with Basic. Appreciate your comment.
I literally charged my dads kindle basic yesterday after months which my mom gifted him in 2015 till date he regrets she didn't get him the paperwhite in which u change the brightness for low light
Damn I was just considering buying a Kindle! Thank you for this video TW. ❤️
Great comparison buddy! It cleaned all my doubts! Keep up the good work! :D
The best video I have seen so far
Thank you so so much you have summarised kindle in a very easy and relevant manner
Your of way of presentation is simply superb. Your style of explaining technical stuffs ina lucid manner is awesome. Heartiest wishes to you and your team.
Regards,
From Chhattisgarh.
Is there a new version of the Kindle planned anytime soon? usually Amazon releases a newer generation not later than 2 years of the previous one right?
Paperwhite has dark mode while the basic kindle does not. Pretty useful for reading in the dark.
Your work has been great, keep that up!
At 5:30 I think there is a typo here, Basic's PPI is shown 197 instead 167 ppi
Is there a difference in processing power between the three kindles? I have tried them all and the Oasis seems to be faster and smoother.
It's got dual core professor unlike the rest
It's a neglegible advantage though
Yes it is faster. Seems negligible if you compare them side by side. But if you use Oasis daily for a week & then go back to PW, you can feel the big difference. Especially if you are use to looking-up words, highlighting, making notes, etc.
I've had a basic Kindle for a decade. I love it. I can read on my Fire device, but it doesn't have the easy foreign language translator that I use a lot on the Kindle.
4:15 the water proofing feature is somehow useful for me as living in monsoon area sometimes the rain is unpredictable and when I'm outside in bike and my kindle is inside the backpack.. if it rains my bag gets wet and even though the rain won't fully penetrate my bag it still wets my copies and also my phone when it's kept inside.. so I would take the waterproof feature as useful for me.
Just buy a waterproof bag man
@@manishforreal sorry but they aren't for me😛
The "looks" I mean..
Well made video with all the useful info! ..Good work
I wish the fire HD 10 plus tablet was sold in india.
:( I would totally buy it! And use fore toolbox in it.
You can get a Fire Tablet from OLX and then use a Amazon US gift card to register the device on a US id.
That's how we have got around to make it work in India.
@@techwiser really? OLX has the latest fire tablet!?
Amazing video, only thing that I want to know more in paperwhite 32gb varient is about 4G, do we need to add sim? Or from where it is accessing 4g data as you said its free.
Really helpful and precise. Thanks a lot.
Which is the best coloured e book ( with e ink kaleido) available in india?
Decided to go with the kindle paperwhite, thanks
Well I disagree. For what Oasis offers, trust me it is well worth it, especially if you read a lot. I have recently upgraded from Paperwhite to Oasis, & I feel a world of difference. It is faster, has a bigger display & better ergonomics. But the real difference-maker is the warm light & the physical pageturn buttons on it.
Also, the point that people in India do not need waterproof devices is very naive. My previous Kindle PW (when it was not waterproof) got bricked when I accidentally spilled water on it. Spilling water/coffee/juice on one's Kindle is definitely well within the realm of possibility, even in India. So I would highly recommend getting a waterproof Kindle.
I get the argument that Oasis is way too costly. But the one that I would NOT RECOMMEND at all is Kindle Basic. PW is a good option for value for money, a sort of sweet spot.
I just upgraded to Oasis a few days back. Yes, as you told, Oasis is really cool gives a premium feel. But I feel battery lasts bit less compared to my previous paperwhite.
Kindle me pdf padh skte Hain Bhai ?
Just the video i wanted for a long time...thanks bros !
Very helpful in taking the decision which one to buy.. Thanks for such a valuable video.
Very well explained . I recently got a leather cover manufactured by Amazon which is too costly . Not sure if that’s really required as my reading experience is degraded due to weight of the case . Any suggestions if cover is just have or can be used only while traveling for which a cheaper cover should solve the purpose ?
Yeah. That happens with all devices... the cover adds to the weight. I usually keep my kindle in a nice zip pouch roughly the same size. And keep it in there when carrying it around... hope that helps 🙂
I use a tablet pouch to keep my kindle Oasis when I'm not using. But when using I don't want any extra weight!
As much as i love my paperbacks, there have been times i am travelling out of home for days and other times some titles are simply not available. I’ve had my kindle 2nd Gen for 7 years and only changing it now because it doesn’t work.
I bought my Kindle Paperwhite in 2015 and still doing good. I take it everywhere . I will repurchase it the minute my Paperwhite Kindle let me down. Love it
Great video, I own a kindle basic myself
Much needed ....thank you Tech wiser team
Thanks for Solving the riddle in my mind that I can’t sleep for past two days
What was that?
The mediatek processor and the battery section are top selling features here.
Is amazon provide battery replacement for any kindle in India? I did not find it on amazon site.
This is exactly what I needed to watch, thanx Mrinal 👍🏼
6.53 ..i thought u r gonna say "it's more similar to paper than the paper itself" lol 😂
After a long time I have watched a video without skipping. Your way of presentation is superb.
Is there any way that we can record calls like on miui on coustom roms like Pixel experience
I'm from Indonesia and your logic about Paperweight really reflects in my country as well! great review. Now as a first time Kindle buyer I'm 100% sure of buying the basic one
Do we get other alternatives for Kindle in India?
You won my heart by saying make use of those paperstamps
I have been watching your videos for a month now, find your content to be well researched, kudos to that. Subscribed! I also have a request, please make a video on career aggregation, my moto g5s plus does have 4g+ but for some reason its even worse than normal 4g, also would like you to make a video comparing different stock android ui, example vanilla android, moto version, asus version, etc. for some reason my moto hangs a lot even in basic tasks.
Welcome aboard! Video on career aggregation is already made. Please check a month old video.
Make a video on how to read external pdf on kindle
The video was really helpful
Thank you so much🤗
Can I transfer pdf of versions of book from my laptop/phone to kindle?
I own a paper white that I got myself from US and have no plans to upgrade. I still watched the whole video and loved it. I loved how you presented things from the Indian market's perspective. 👍
The only thing missing in this video is that don't buy kindle for comic books. My kids hate kindle because of this 🙂
Is that because kindle is black and white??🤔🤔🤔
do audiobooks work in India ? or its geo-locked to US only?
I brought kindle 10 years ago and still using it, I brought it only because the device but the huge collection of books.
I was wondering when we would get a kindle that has a screen bigger than 6 or 7 inch ?
Which one should I get? I'm first time buying but I'm planning to read manga a lot. Reading manga in androids are pretty hard. Also a decent amount of books too.
So should I get basic or paperwhite. I'm confused now.
Paper white
Best kindle to buy is the 1 generation older Paperwhite 7th Gen. It doesn't have the waterproofing, has the higher resolution and doesn't have that flush screen allowing me to keep it upside down without being scared. And 2nd hand is available at a price lesser than kindle basic. It's a steal since these last for years and years.
Does this 7th gen PW have dark mode and warm light? And disable touchscreen option? If needed, i will buy this one then
Really helpful Analysis Thanks 👍.
is there any option to store and view pdf or eBook files from computer/laptop to kindle for reading and if not which which E-Reading substitute device have such option?
Hi guys, how much price difference is there on Amazon sale and regular price? Is it worth waiting for next sale, may be Holi or Valentines? 11th generation 14K
That moment of realisation when I look at my Kindle Fire HD, and watching prime video on it.
Great and Crisp info..Thanks buddy
Can we sideload books in Kindle?
Can you make video on SSD and brands
You should have mentioned that the paper white display is flushed with the screen. Whereas the basic's kindle display in sunk inside
Awesome video...best information...Thank you so much.....i recommend this video to all who is new to Kindle e reader.... Perfect explanation 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I have a question; why doesn't the kindle PW have audible in India?
Already bought a Paperwhite on Prime day and saw this video now hope the extra resolution pays off in the longer run.
@@thecryptoindia it has dropped now after the signature edition was released. I got it for 10,299 during prime day.
