i have installed a new 500gb HDD (not ssd) with exfat and the update with usb in exfat format, and it's not completing the update (1st Gen PS4) i have a wired controller though, does it need to be done with a wireless one with a data cable? (in the menu or on the computer, the Playstation Button works, but it' doesn't respond in the final setup stage. any tips before i go buy a wireless controller for one last try?
Hi @user-dw9kl8uk4e, if you have tried everything and its still not working, then your hard drive has probably gone bad. I recommend getting this PS4 replacement hard drive amzn.to/34CeexS and then you can follow this HOWTO video on how to replace your hard drive and install the PS4 system software on it: ruclips.net/video/Sxw5OM3-C7I/видео.html
@@ZadiusTech should I just get something new bc they were both setup as PS4/UPDATE/PS4UPDATE.PUP i tried to update via internet to and I had factory reset it in the end too to reinstall I thought I worked once bc it updated for like two hours but after it turned off and on and said get update file

One of my usb ports doesn’t work any ideas?
Try using a different USB ports, most PS4's also have a USB port in the back.
I tried to use update file then reinstall in FATex FAT32 and none worked
Make sure it's in the right folder and named correctly. Check out some of my other videos for detailed HOWTO.
