NinjaxBart yo man, glad you got a chance to redo yours, i'm doing my install tomorrow with a little extra addition, will show on Sunday...ps: this is Mumble_Wrx :)
Just buy yellow led fog lights, not white. I currently have Fog Breakers from OSRAM. They are yellow halogen, but they are very good at lighting up the road in bad dark conditions. I had a pair of LED's but they scattered light everywhere, the halogen fog breakers are much better.
Yellow is a better color temperature for better visibility in poor weather driving conditions (snow, rain, fog, etc.) The vinyl can't really cause the light to scatter, it's less than a 1mm film and it's quite high quality stuff (sold with the lights).
I've had the Morimoto fog lights and they have been awesome so far. I upgraded from drop in LEDs within the factory reflective housing and the Morimoto's are much better (as expected because of the built in projector). I did notice that my projector looks a little different compared to yours though in that my projectors are slimmer where yours appears taller/bigger.
If you want golden yellow fog lights, the best led fog light on the market is Philips Xtreme 2700k Ultinon H16. They are extremely good quality and wide angle light patters lights up the road. it doesnt have that greenish tint yellow.
...OEM fogs are reflector (all plastic) and an H16/19W halogen bulb. You might be able to put a H8/35W bulb in there for a marginal increase in light output (500 lumens up to 800 lumen). The XB are 1200 lumen each, very similar to a H11/55W halogen bulb (think headlight). I put H11 OE style reflector fogs in and now I'm considering going with the XB Type S or the DD SS3 sport (yellow). That's how bad the reflector OE style is.
Can totally relate!! had an issue installing my yellow fog vinyls also; took me about an hour half and the edges are pretty horrible but no one will see them. lol
dang! Nice look here. I just want something easy to plug in with a nice vibrant yellow like yours. anything like that or need to to install Morimoto ones like your?
+GR8GUY54 hey man, thank you for watching and the comment! These are straight plug and play, the install is super easy!! I have a video showing the install a while who if you search it then you can see how easy if you'd like!!
Thanks for the video. Good to know because I was going to buy along with the film LaminX. Here in Brazil we have scarce products, but as we are gearheads, we go ahead. :)
Sweet man. Definitely planning on getting some in the near future. I'm currently waiting for my subispeed package with high, low and c light leds. I'm looking forward to trying the alpha hd's. Great video for my morimoto interest.
I'd say it's extremely close!! I have the Sport trim WRX though so I believe it's a bit different headlights than the base model WRX I'm not sure though!!
I'm running the Diode Dynamics LED fog light housings. Similar design to your Morimotos. Which brand of tint did you put on? I have the Lamin-X on my left bar but I really want to get a darker yellow tint for it.
nopurposejust4fun The morimoto's are a project headlight - totally new and different assembly and a huge (tremendous) improvement over the plastic stock reflector housings!

Theys aren’t bad for looks without any film , they lasted me a good bit but I just upgraded to sum apex 8000L that are actually utilizable and Realy cut threw sum fog . Mite also get a pair of theys led fixture from the vid
Spence, what do you think about a Meet-Up with other youTube MotoChannels.? Would you be into that.? I can lend you a motorcycle. (smiles) - Angel P.S. - May we exchange email addy's, I have some new I want to share with your privately.
Why is it so difficult to find someone who bought the fog lights for the right reason? THE BEAM OUTPUT. But nah, its cause they look ccool broooo not casuse they are functional. cause thats just crazy talk.
Do some research before jumping to conclusions dude! I have several in-depth installation videos on my headlights setup including the Morimoto's - This video in particular is specific to the application of the foglight film. Works both as a protective film, but also changes the color to yellow which is proven to act better in foul weather for human eyesight. I often drive back-country roads here where I live in Canada and the projectors of the Morimoto's perform exceptional - But I don't think you need me to tell you that, there's so many videos all saying the same and plenty of reviews online. Anyways, thanks for the comment and the view :)
*Which foglight setup is your favorite?!*
NinjaxBart yo man, glad you got a chance to redo yours, i'm doing my install tomorrow with a little extra addition, will show on Sunday...ps: this is Mumble_Wrx :)
NinjaxBart I like your videos
NinjaxBart what brand is the film from your buddy? Thanks

@@AEON. I just watched this video. I'm now ordering a set. Thanks.
How have they held up?
I’m looking for good fogs for my pickup, are these good in inclement weather?
Why not leave the XB LEDs white? The cutoff gets defused and the light seems to scatter a lot with that yellow vinyl.

What's the new film/tint brand?

Oh really?! Maybe mine are upside down.. someone told me that once. Hahah, or maybe an older version. Nonetheless, they're fricken awesome right?!?!

Well, the Philips bulbs are Halogen H16 bulbs, no? These are the Morimoto XB Projector LED housings, arguably the absolute best!! Google them! :)
LEDs emit small amount of blue light + yellow tint = green! And tint on any light decreases light output.
I have some BRZ yellow Winjet fogs and they look almost exactly the same as your fogs
Looks way better with the new yellow film!
Definitely hey! Thx for checkin in dude!
Your car is fucking dope!! Just subbed hope to see more vids
Wow much better are the Morimoto then oem?

i wish i had fog lights on my wrx! debating still if i wanna install them. might end up swapping my front end for an aftermarket one so... yeah
I have the auxbeam led bulbs and the stock housing. Haven't tried a film yet
Nice! How do you like them?
I think they are a good value and look better than the stock halogen lights.
I'm hoping to get a set of the "big" jdm fog lights for mine this summer:) I wonder if mirimoto makes anything for those
what yellow tint film did you get? I ended up layering a double of Lamin-x to get the true yellow look
Kepik was one layer not enough for the led fogs? I assume they had a small green hue to them with one layer
the new film is just thicker, which will also decrease light output
Why just get the yellow fog that they make
Can totally relate!! had an issue installing my yellow fog vinyls also; took me about an hour half and the edges are pretty horrible but no one will see them. lol
+ponygrl477 they're hard to put on that's forsure!! Harder to get the Vinyl perfect than the install of the foglight itself haha!

Good video, I think they look good! I have stock fog lights with a lightly smoked out film applied on em
Thanks bro!! :)
Thanks for the video.

Hey man thank you!
Do you use Morimoto HID 3000k ? 35 or 55 W ? What is the compagny about this film ? Tank you very munch
Would you say the color of the leds match the color of the headlights? (without the yellow film of course)
I'd say it's extremely close!! I have the Sport trim WRX though so I believe it's a bit different headlights than the base model WRX I'm not sure though!!
Perfect, I'm trying to get away from the yellow in the stock halogen fogs on my sti. Keep up the good work man.

Yup, plug and play!

Why dont you just get the yellow led bulbs. I got the one brand called "calais" from amazon for 25$. Had no problem so far and happy with it.
nopurposejust4fun The morimoto's are a project headlight - totally new and different assembly and a huge (tremendous) improvement over the plastic stock reflector housings!

the best thing about tint is protecting your lights
you know what what would make those fogs look even better? A new lip lol
Rob Cober Truth. I am going to hook him up again.
10sec send me another lip man hahahahaha
You only showed the color and the brightness in daylight. what about how they look at night, the beam pattern and the distance.
I hate the greenish tint the lamin x yellow film gives my foglights....ewwww might just go clear lens
Ehh whatever you like you should do forsure bro!!! :) I respect it either way !
Dude, those films were dirty/faded as F. The new stuff looks so much nicer!
hahaha thanks man!
NinjaxBart where to get one ?
I like how there's no more counter for thumbs ups!
+WrxNate hahaha yeah cuz this bot or something was happening :( up/ down was changing but no views went up. It was weird.

...there's a kit for that. well, several kits actually.
It's green. not yellow
Yellow tint is fine but why are you wasting your time with white LED's and just buy yellow LED's.
David Hovik morimotos projector Foglights only come in white lol
Nice subie!!!! I want a subie😭, these fog lights are beast i want them for my tacoma!

Salt. Who cares what someone buys something for. Not your money.
