Excellent review! Nicely done. I have this jacket and pants and my wife is so impressed that she is checking out your review and contemplating a set for herself. I have no time in nasty weather yet myself but for noise level it is semi zippy. My Arcteryx Beta AR jacket is very noisy , a full notch above the Chugach. A full notch down in quiet from the Chugach is my Yukon Jacket from Kuiu. Also an impressive jacket from Kuiu. However the Yukon is noticeable heavier and a more burley fabric. Backpacking- Chugach. Car hunting and rain expected, Yukon. Again nice review!
What about noise? I know that for hunting out west, the noise factor isn't as important. But I live in NC and so most of my use of this rain gear would be here. How noisy the clothing is is extremely important. My current rain gear is the Cabela's Instinct and it keeps you dry in any amount of rain, but it's way too noisy.
Narcissus Angel I’ve only worn it once earlier in the season when it as raining pretty hard. When dry, it makes the typical “swooshing” sound that most rain jackets make, but once the outer material is wet, it seems to be quieter. It’s not near as loud as traditional rain gear, but not too loud at the same time if that makes any sense.
