    The advice the bartender offers helps lessen the worries of where the man is but indulging in every little pleasures made him lose ground of his current situation.

    It's not shown in the movie, but in the original script there was always a housekeeping bot outside his room whenever he left, shaking in anticipation with a dustpan it's hand. Unfortunately, Jim always hit the DO NOT DISTURB button and it is cried in frustration everytime it had to witness the door close over the disaster of his room. When the time came to "meet" Aurora, there was now a small squadron of these cleaner bits outside his door. At that time, Jim finally pressed PLEASE SERVICE and all the bots raced into the room with mechanical squeeks of joy.

    “…say you could snap your fingers and be wherever you wanted to be. I bet you'd still feel this way. Not in the right place. Point is, you can't get so hung up on where you'd rather be that you forget to make the most of where you are.“
    I’m not kidding when I say this is literally the greatest piece of advice I have ever heard in my entire life. I have learning difficulties and have been held back in a lot of areas and want a lot of things in life and I think of this line. I realize that to get to a point where I can feel at peace, I have to resolve a lot of things that I have to fix before. I can’t really feel comfortable having the things that I want whether it’s a girlfriend or a new place to live or something because the other Priorities or things I have to get done in order to get to that point I have to be completed before I can really feel any sense of peace and enjoy the things that I really want. I always think of this line whenever I fantasize about anything and it really gives me peace of mind because I’m not always ready for the things that I want and I think that’s an aspect of life that a lot of people don’t focus on

    I feel like Chris Pratt shouldn't have been the lead in this. This scene in particular feels like it could be creepy, but because it's Chris Pratt, they decided to play it off as a goofy montage with Pratt acting silly. Someone like Ryan Gosling would've been a better choice if they just made the Jim character like it was in the script as he can be both charming and charismatic but also creepy and unsettling.
    Michael Sheen, however, is easily the best thing about the movie along with the visuals of the flick.

    The prop bed at 1:28 shakes the roof, the set builder probably wasn't aware Chris Pratt was going to throw himself on the bed like that. The whole thing is probably made of wood and styrofoam.

    I had a diehard dream of studying at Harvard University and wanted to go there so badly but I found out, it was nearly impossible to convince my parents that I can do it. I found out that I wasn’t even able to pay for SAT fees then I saw this video, well I accepted it as my fate and this video gave me hope that everything will be fine.

      did you read about the other possible ending? they considered having Chris die at the end and Jennifer goes to her pod crying knowing now she is alone. the end. MAN, that would have ruined the movie!

    Does anyone else think that he was purposely waken up and it wasn’t by “accident” at all . I think it’s extremely coincidental that an engineer would wake up due to a malfunction in one of the most successful machines in the world as soon as the ship was damaged. It’s almost like it was programmed to happen. And they didn’t come up with a way to put him back asleep so they can keep him alive on the ship as some sort of psychological experiment. What would a lonely man do out in space all by himself?

    • @mohammadalawneh3058
      @mohammadalawneh3058 3 года назад +5

      My theory is that the system itself wasn't programmed to wake an engineer, but the AI is smart, and when it felt that there is an unexpected malfunction it decided to wake up an engineer. so it has studied the passengers and crew members with (engineer category) and waked up a random name.
      so this wasn't planned by the creators of the Avallone. but the AI generated this random solution.

      I have the movie and I loved it. After seeing Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Jurassic World (2015), I was hoping there would be a good 2016 Chris Pratt movie. And when I saw trailers for this, I wanted to try it. And I bought it when it came out on sale. I love this movie a lot.
