Can't stop watching this scene. It makes me realize that life is too short to worrying about stupid things. I was dealing with depression for a long time. I'm not completely healed but I'm getting much better. My advice don't take life too seriously. Smile, laugh, travel etc. Enjoy it !
I love the duality of this entire scene. The advice the bartender offers helps lessen the worries of where the man is but indulging in every little pleasures made him lose ground of his current situation. Too much of anything, even simple pleasures can be a bad thing.
The addition of the wise, good natured bar tender was a brilliant adjunct character to include in the story. His lines were helping both characters have a mirror for their own experiences. I very much enjoyed this movie. Thank you.
Not a problem. If I remember correctly, the crew wakes up a couple of months earlier than the passengers. So, they would probably have maintainance drones sort the place back in to shape. The suite would be good as new by the time the passengers wake up. No harm no foul.

It's not shown in the movie, but in the original script there was always a housekeeping bot outside his room whenever he left, shaking in anticipation with a dustpan it's hand. Unfortunately, Jim always hit the DO NOT DISTURB button and it is cried in frustration everytime it had to witness the door close over the disaster of his room. When the time came to "meet" Aurora, there was now a small squadron of these cleaner bits outside his door. At that time, Jim finally pressed PLEASE SERVICE and all the bots raced into the room with mechanical squeeks of joy.
You know the irony is, this movie would have excelled in 2020 at social distancing practices while in production since there's only 2 actors for the entire movie :D
@@danhorsfallmusic7411 Yeah I know but my point stands...there were so few actors that the movie budget wouldn't be hurting in this movie. 2-4 actors minimum while keeping a story entertaining is the height of budget efficacy. It's very effective if you can reduce cost of production while gaining good box office sales. Big profit in the end.

At the end we see everyone leave their hibernation pod, I’d say that’s about 30 actors, then we have various human like robots throughout the film, about 10, then we have Arthur and the captain.
It's def up there.. it's surprisingly a great entertaining movie with tone shifts throughout the movie.. also makes you think and appreciate life, ur friends, and everything we all have that we take for granted

I have learning difficulties and have been held back in a lot of areas and want a lot of things in life and I think of this line. I realize that to get to a point where I can feel at peace, I have to resolve a lot of things that I have to fix before. I can’t really feel comfortable having the things that I want whether it’s a girlfriend or a new place to live or something because the other Priorities or things I have to get done in order to get to that point I have to be completed before I can really feel any sense of peace and enjoy the things that I really want. I always think of this line whenever I fantasize about anything and it really gives me peace of mind because I’m not always ready for the things that I want and I think that’s an aspect of life that a lot of people don’t focus on
I feel like Chris Pratt shouldn't have been the lead in this. This scene in particular feels like it could be creepy, but because it's Chris Pratt, they decided to play it off as a goofy montage with Pratt acting silly. Someone like Ryan Gosling would've been a better choice if they just made the Jim character like it was in the script as he can be both charming and charismatic but also creepy and unsettling. Michael Sheen, however, is easily the best thing about the movie along with the visuals of the flick.
I disagree, I think it starts out goofy but it slowly starts to deteriorate when you realize how miserable this guy is becoming and how bad his situation is, the music is still playing but we aren't feeling the magic anymore.

It's both scary and very apt how that changes from "I'm all alone in a toy shop / all-you-can-eat-and-drink venue" to worst case social distancing scenario. I think his actions later on are creepy bordering on sociopathic, and the whole scenario is more a psycho thriller than a romance story, but this downward drift is really, really well done.
For every woman complaining he woke her up, yeah that was wrong but he also saved her from death along with those 5000 people in the pod. He apologized and even offered her to sleep back in the command pod. People need to be optimistic in life, he gave her a happy life, love, and a beautiful friendship. But most of all he saved a whole world from damnation.
True, people make mistakes and also she says "Why don't we wake up the crew?" when something goes wrong with the ship. And I'm thinking, somebody's changed! I can't blame her for having been upset but it's also hard to blame him.

I always wondered if Jim hacked the computers and switched the files with another passenger who was originally assigned to that Vienna Suite and left that poor Gold Class Passenger to a boring economy class cabin.
Does anyone else think that he was purposely waken up and it wasn’t by “accident” at all . I think it’s extremely coincidental that an engineer would wake up due to a malfunction in one of the most successful machines in the world as soon as the ship was damaged. It’s almost like it was programmed to happen. And they didn’t come up with a way to put him back asleep so they can keep him alive on the ship as some sort of psychological experiment. What would a lonely man do out in space all by himself?
My theory is that the system itself wasn't programmed to wake an engineer, but the AI is smart, and when it felt that there is an unexpected malfunction it decided to wake up an engineer. so it has studied the passengers and crew members with (engineer category) and waked up a random name. so this wasn't planned by the creators of the Avallone. but the AI generated this random solution.
I just watched it! It is so good to see a movie with little to no people for a change while every movie ever has like tons of people in it. Having a movie with just a few people is just a great way to slow down a little for a change.
I have the movie and I loved it. After seeing Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Jurassic World (2015), I was hoping there would be a good 2016 Chris Pratt movie. And when I saw trailers for this, I wanted to try it. And I bought it when it came out on sale. I love this movie a lot.

I just watched it! It is so good to see a movie with little to no people for a change while every movie ever has like tons of people in it. Having a movie with just a few people is just a great way to slow down a little for a change.
I have the movie and I loved it. After seeing Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Jurassic World (2015), I was hoping there would be a good 2016 Chris Pratt movie. And when I saw trailers for this, I wanted to try it. And I bought it when it came out on sale. I love this movie a lot.
