Also, I just had to stop in Austin to see the Austin tiny homes called Village Farm Austin for a tour. There's a sneak peek of this beautiful property and a full video tour of the tiny home village is coming up soon. Make sure you subscribe and hit the notification bell so you know when it comes out.
There’s definitely something to be said for ‘sticks and bricks!’😆 There’s nothing like a hot shower and a warm bed! That was a rough trip, so glad you’re safe!
Probably feels so good to be back to your home sweet home! Bummer about your trip with Dani! Looks like you crazy girls still had a good time! I have some sad news to share. My sweet Daisy passed away a couple weeks ago. I now understand what you were going through losing your sweet Lily! I’m lost without her! Grateful I was with her when she died! I made an appointment for her on a Friday afternoon at 5:00 to put her to sleep. It was the last possible time before I had to go back to work on Saturday. She couldn’t walk the last few days so I knew it was time. She passed away during the night Friday morning. My biggest fear was her dying by herself while I was at work but I was with her. I took the last two weeks of January off so I got to spend the last 2 wks of her life with her 24/7. Grateful she didn’t have any health issues until the last year of her life! So grateful I had her for 16 happy years! ❤
Oh Sandra I’m so sorry to hear about Daisy. My heart breaks for you. I love that you were able to take the time off to be with her during her final days and as she crossed over to the rainbow bridge. Big hugs to you my friend. It’s not easy as you have seen from me. I still cry for her almost daily. The deep sharp pain will slowly go away over time but until then, you cry as much as you want and grieve her loss. She’s your baby. Your love for her will always be there and hers for you.
So sorry you lost your loving Daisy.... Our fur babies bring us so much love that it hurts so bad when they're gone..... Thankfully we know that we've given them a very good life.... That gives us Great Memories forever.....
@@storychasing thanks Amber! I knew you would understand! I want to get a necklace like you have. I picked up her ashes but haven’t had the heart to look at them yet!
Just a thought from a retired military veteran: turn your van around as quickly as possible so that you can quickly get underway in the event you need to evacuate from some event worse than a bad winter storm. Possible reasons: train derailment, hazmat incident nearby or upwind of your location, hurricane season starts 01May, nuclear power plant incident, etc. Every place has it’s STOBOR.
That storm was so unpredictable! And it was all ice. We couldn’t even get down our front porch because we never would have been able to get back up the hill! Glad you made it back safely! You looked so happy to be walking into your home.
Amber, I am so enjoying your videos. Super excited to see more of the tiny homes 😁 I’m glad you got away for a little trip and made it back home safely with that weather.
Gosh … what a beautiful tiny house community !!! It would be so hard to decide … like weighing living in a super cool place …vs living closer to your awesome sister ? Tough call ! 😎
Looking forward to your video on Village Farm Austin. Several tiny home / alternative housing channels have covered this community but it has been well over a year, I want to see how it has progressed and grown.
Amber, didn't the eye Dr suggest progressive lenses? That's what I have and I'm able to see distance, computer, and read easily. One pair does all. I also have the transition feature so they are sunglasses also. Glad you got home safely.
Me and progressives don’t get along. Lol. Bridge of my nose is so narrow I’m constantly pushing my glasses up no matter what materials used. So it’s skews my vision with progressives. I’d just rather take them off to see up close.
Omg Amber that is EXACTLY what I am looking for in a tiny home community!!! I sure hope we hear you bought something there! I may have to check out Austin. You know us Seattle people are not good in hot and humid places so that would be my only obstacle otherwise that is exactly what I am looking for too. The homes are beyond super cute. I cannot wait for your next video!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello Amber, Cute cute community. Happy for your future. Mike retired and we have a 1 bedroom 750 sq ft park model redone inside and we love it. We bought 2 years ago but finally get to live here. Been here in Az for12 days and will be still heading to Wa state while the parents are still around.
So glad you decided to explore Village Farm. The location near Austin brings kindred spirits to this tiny house community. Porches, main floor bedroom, wide layouts and great kitchens make this such a perfect place to live. Hope it all works out.
OmG... I've been checking out this same exact tiny-house community for a year or more... so cool!!!!! Are you looking at phase 3 now? I haven't checked out their progress in a while 😊
Amber, it’s wonderful to see that you are home safe and sound, I am just sorry that your trip south to a warmer area did not work out. I am really happy that you got your vision checked and the prices were very reasonable.. stay safe and I am looking forward to the Austin tiny house tour . 🥰👍👍
This video made me so happy to see you looking so joyful. Why, because I think this new community of tiny home might be amazing. Also, I've been watching your videos from your Pacific ocean trip as I'm heading out soon, and you have that same spark in your eyes now that you did then 😍
Hi Amber! Just started following your channel recently. I live in Seattle, which I see you used to live in as well! I love seeing your adventures with friends. It sounds as though many of these are friends you made on the road. I would love to hear more about how you met and made friends with people you met while traveling.
I love Village Farms. Unfortunately, being in the Austin area, they cost more than most Foundation Built Homes and they are not a good investment in a State where most want a large house. Up the street is a similar place that is being built all by volunteers and it is for homeless.
So glad you went. It's adorable and I think the prices are fair. They even have a spot for you to park you van so you can hang out. Try the location out and hang out for events to see how you feel about the community. I keep thinking I will get the one with the fireplace outside. I live in Zilker Park in Austin but its becoming so crowded and I love that it's still in Austin and so close to everything. Cant wait to hear your review.
It seems that Lenscrafters and most other mall eyeglasses retailers are owned by the Italian company, Luxottica, which also bought up several eyewear manufacturers, including Ray-Ban. It's definitely a bit of a monopoly that lets them both jack up the price and keep most of the profits.
If you get no line bifocal and they place it in the right place. Your get use to it in a few days. I've had bifocals before that I couldn't get use to. It was because they weren't put in the right area for my eyes..
Hi amber from downtown Dallas! Here for a convention and it’s still too cold! Today should be in 70s for a visit to Deep Ellum neighborhood…fingers crossed 🤞
Love the concept of the tiny homes community. We should think about this in the U.K. instead of building large houses taking up so much land, which we don’t have 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I'll share your tiny home vid with my sister when you upload it. She lives in San Antonio, she will enjoy it. I'm quite grateful that we didn't lose power or freeze during that cold front in my area. I bet you are getting hit with it again tonight & tomorrow! Enough already, right?
You said something very telling... "If I had known about the weather I wouldn't have gone". That means you would have missed out on such a fun adventure filled with laughs between you and a new friend. This darling story would have been missing from the tapestry of your novel. I could have kept my current frames for the computer but because my prescription had changed slightly I went ahead and got the new ones. They had recommended progressives to me, but I don't like progressives. The bridge of my nose is so narrow that I constantly push up my frames no matter what material it is. I comment to you girls on your last video, that you could stay on my boat. It has central heating and air conditioning. I live in Fort Worth and don't stay on it very much. I have been following you for several years but didn't realize you had bought a house in Dallas. Good Luck with the Tiny houses in Austin. Austin loss power for several weeks.
I would love a tiny house in a small community but like having a space for messy projects and would want solar or some way to be independent from infrastructure. Lack of income tax is also appealing. Have thought of buying a rural property in New Hampshire. I put up a pole Barn here in Maryland large enough to hold my camper and enough space that could have included most of what I would want for stick such as bath, kitchenette, eating/entertaining/hobby. That cost $35,000 with electric but no water or sewer. There is a county in Colorado that allows limited permit compliance. I would like to check that out. I don’t know if pole barn construction could work in areas with a lot of rock in the soil. I love that building though and herd that if I had put solar on at time I built. The construction cost could be used to get tax credit as a support structure. I am definitely a Yankee when thinking about costs.

These homes are well over $100K, and the lot rent...right now...in $750 and will only go up. It's the lot rent that will kill you with either a manufactured home, or a tiny home, unless you put it on your own land. Five years ago these homes weren't as cheap as $60K. They're closer to $200K...plus that exorbitant lot rent.
@@le_th_ Bought a $12k house, damage is causing me to stay in my runaway camper. I have the runaway for hurricane escape. $2K can tow with my $6K prius V. All I own isn't going to add up to half what a tiny house cost. 2 min I'm getting groceries from Walmart. I have a 30' camper on my property to boot. Taxes are $

A poorly fitted frame/lens can do harm - and no one wants that.
