- When Vudoo Gun Works announced they were getting in to 1911 pistols, many gave them the side eye. Yes, they are know for making amazing rimfire precision rifles, but is that enough to make a high end 1911? Well apparently so because these things flat out run. This is arguably one of the the 1911 double stack pistols to check out and will no doubt be a household name in the pistol community before long.

I'm just here to proclaim you won the thumbnail game. Gorgeous.
lol thanks man!!
Love seeing new Vudoo content drop! In the home stretch on mine, can’t wait!! 🇺🇸
Consider me in line. Thanks for the great review
I’m a Vudoo dealer and honestly best gun in the game now
I agree, these are absolutely great pistols. Love your channel also!
What about 22mag rifles? Shot one the mags that come with it absolutly suck feed issues with all ammo. And the mags are huge! Trigger is great and when it does feed it groups decent. WAY OVERPRICED
Beautiful blaster can’t wait to own one.
Thanks buddy
Excellent review, I have the exact same pistol, minus the sights. I have approximately 1000 rounds through it. No malfunctions. The quality is the same as my Nighthawk’s, and Atlas’s. Changed the magwell to a customized aluminum magwell to make weight for IDPA . At 3200 it’s a bargain.
Review the CZ S2C please.
I love mine!
Been thinking of one of these, but I'm in the phase where i want to do a lot of upgrade work personally and learn. I'm thinking there isn't much to upgrade or change on these. They seem really great for the price point. Great in depth review, thanks
Look at live free armory apollo 11
I have a ?. I am having a tough time deciding which gun to get the masterpiece arms ds9 hybrid or the vudoo priest. I don't see a lot of feedback on the priest but am starting to see more videos on it.Have you had experience with the ds9? .Does the priest have any issues you know of? Hopefully someone can sway me one way or the other.I just want to make the right choice.I will use the gun for idpa/ uspsa type shooting.Very detailed video by the way!.
Thanks for the video! Glad you like the Priest I enjoy mine as well. Good luck if you order a new one, but maybe hold on to your sample and pay for it may be faster than waiting for a new build haha.
Not going mine up anytime soon if I don’t have to :-)
I wanted to ask , would you get the steel frame if you could? I am deciding between the two options and I am having some trouble deciding.@@GunsandTactics
@@Icabueno if it was just a competition gun I would go stainless. I really like their hybrid texture though which is only in AL. For me the gun will be a lot of training, teaching and some comp so Im ok with AL.
@@Icabueno I like the hybrid texture and it is plenty weighty for me in aluminum but I don't have a steel frame 2011 to compare. I have CZ Shadow 2's that are beefy and it feels just as heavy and flat/stable as the CZ.
All it needs is a reminder system so it is not forgotten when going to the range. Sorry Dave, couldn't resist!
Great video, a pistol I would like to have.
I was kinda "meh" at first, just another 2011...but the optic setup with the pedestal and the rear sight piece is outstanding. Little things like that really make the difference in my book.
Code Vudoo Gun Works 🙏
Have one on order so I’m looking forward to mine in a few months. I’ve gotten really bored with the full length dust cover look so the aesthetics of this gun really stood out to me and the reviews have been stellar.
The full-length dust cover adds weight to the barrel end of the pistol. I added a weight and it is a 0-plane shooter.
I see on there web site they are now offering an porting option , would you carry this as a daily carry ?
Really like the way the optics mount blends the optic into the slide. Seemed to have a slight forward cant - yeah?
Yup 1 degree cant to match the barrel. We spoke about that when we were brainstorming the optic cut
@@GunsandTactics Imma Channel newbie. Was there an earlier episode that discussed the barr4el cant? Sounds like an opportunity to learn sumthin new!
I dont think I have talked about that yet but we certainly could in the future.
Please review the Tisas double stack when it’s released.
I think I’m supposed to have one on the way.
Rainier Arms Rocks!!
They really need to make a version with a comp.
They just announced a ported version at shot. It shot really nice, I know it’s not the same as comp and I’ve been hounding them too.
@@GunsandTactics Yeah, a comp version to go up against the XC, Atlas Erebus, Phoenix Trinity H-Pro, etc. would be sweet. This already looks super flat. Need to see how good it can get with a comp!
I have one more? .If you shot both the priest and the mpa ds9 which one is faster and has the better trigger?.I know it's a lot of questions from me but i just have to make the right decision the first time around. Thanks so much!.
Haven’t shot an MPA yet but heard good things about
what color is the cerakote, is it sniper gray??
How do you feel about the grip safety being pinned? My understanding the grip safety helps with drop protection
Being that these are marketed more towards the competition market, I am not as worried about it, and I understand the perspective. If I were to be carrying this on duty, I would love to see a functioning grip safety, and it is something that we have talked about with them.

It’s sounds like this pistol made a big impression on you and the group. I’ve seen enough of your videos that I can say that you don’t have to apologize for being impressed with anything that you review. There are plenty of pessimistic people and there’s always going to be someone who wants to believe that you’ve been bought out or bribed for your opinions but that doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, if you liked it, you liked it.
How does it compare to the Platypus?
Like it but don't have big hands, somewhere in the middle.I want to try this platform but i struggle to reach the slidestop and mag release.I would either have to get extended slide stop or drop slide with support hand on reload.
Even with large hands most people use their secondary had for the slide stop
@@GunsandTactics Shooters must hit the slide stop after mag insertion with their support hand obviously right?.
@@timothygarrity5181 yup or use the slide. unless you have crazy long thumb lol
All of these people complaining about price haven't even seen what other 2011s cost... Especially Infinity...
My company make that slide everything
is it drop safe?
Like the gun. Happy to see a new company succeeding.. but I’ll keep my Honda Civic, don’t need a Benz.. I got champagne taste with beer funds
Honestly if I'm spending 3k on a gun I'm going to get a mid high AR in 300 blackout with a suppressor and a decent setup. Spending that much money on a handgun is crazy. I really wish these manufacturers would realize that there's a large potential market decently made double stack 2011's for the under 1000 mark.
“Decently made” and under 1000 don’t often go together in the double stack world. We will see what SHOT brings but quality costs money. I get these are a lot of money but they really are an amazing pistol that are nicer than even more expensive guns.
@@GunsandTactics I'm not expecting match grade quality. 2011s are great guns don't get me wrong but if I'm actually forced to use a handgun there's not a whole lot of difference between them and a Glock. The platypus is the closest to a decent priced 2011. Give it five to ten years and you'll see them start dropping to about $1000
I shoot my handguns far more than my rifles tbh, so it makes more sense to spend more for my pistols.
@@floofy6911 most people are going to spend more time training with handguns. That said making a more budget friendly 2011 is possible. A lot of these guns are super overpriced. I'd understand if these guns were significantly more complicated to make but they aren't. The materials themselves aren't even high cost. There's more metal in any budget AR and the polymer isn't super expensive either.
Dont get a 22mag bolt rifle from vudoodooo. Such a piece
3,200 👀 bro you can get a staccato with a amazing track record for under 3
This is nicer than a staccato P and arguably the XL. I have every staccato model and don’t get me wrong I love them, but the Vudoo is a tighter gun with more going on under the hood
What color is that cerakote?
Ahh... I want patient enough. Tungsten
The name Priest, because it makes you want to touch it? Hope u guy's got it
Hey Smith and Wesson take note!
You had me on this all the way up to $32-$3300...I'm out lol
It’s very well priced for what it is.
Dibs when you decide to sell yours. 😂
I know where I can get you one :-)
Price is 3200. Clicked off right after I heard that
Quality isn’t cheap
I think Stealth Arms Platypus has all these high priced 2011 manufactures beat! 1600 bucks and takes cheap glock mags and can custom make them your way! And all reviews are stealler. You can buy 2 platypus pistols by a bunch of mags and ammo for the price of 1 of these!
I hope so my Platypus is being build now and I have a Priest already. I like the double stack 1911s, 2011s, and traditional 1911s and CZs. Hammer fired metal guns are the best not sure why I went down the polymer hole for awhile.
Platypus review is coming next week :-)
@@GunsandTactics Awesome I'll be tuning in! If you have time the groups are starting to compile info on compatible base plates with the magwell/funnel system and what slide stops thumb rest/gas pedals are compatible. As far as I know the springer precision, strike industry, and taren base plates people claimed work and I saw a post that the nitro fin was compatible for thumb rests.
The platypus is an awesome gun, but I can tell you from experience it's doesn't compare to nice 2011s like and MPA or vudoo, and obviously not to real high end guns.
Correct 💯
you lost alot of people when you said the price... yikes! spend 3× more than needed for something heavier and bigger and prettier(wont want to use it). some day maybe I'll have enough money for a pistol I won't use in competition that I don't do for people that I don't care to impress... that thing looks smooth as silk though.
Super Quality Gun although it seems like an ATLAS GUN WORKS Clone.
For that Price I would just Buy a Used ATLAS GUN WorKS and have the Re-Sale ability if I ever decided to sell it.
Still a great looking Pistol though. Great Review.
3k imma need that grip safty as a 1911/2011 platform should
Grip safeties are stupid
Don't worry about getting murdered or robbed! At $3,000+ this gun can do both for you!
😅
Like all Vudoo way overpriced normal person can afford them
