My 9mm Riptide has never failed to cycle a cartridge. Runs like a clock. All steel construction gives very low recoil impulse, fun to shoot. One of my favorite 1911's
My introduction to 9mm 1911's was via a Tisas M1911-A1 in that caliber that ran flawlessly after the usual 1911 break in of 300+ rounds and even with the tiny G.I. sights it was easy to keep nice tight groups.... Finally tired of the sights & replaced it with a Springfield Ronin Commander in 9mm that makes a perfect concealed carry pistol....👍👍
In 2013 I ordered from you a "1911 custom Fusion Commander Pro Series ELITE in 9mm", its been my carry gun for quite some time, I took it to a few classes also, it now wears an optic cause I'm gettin older :) Great gun !
9s are also more suspect to being magazine picky. i have had issues with metalform mags, brownells mag(made by metal form) and ed brown mags in my colt mkiv. mec gar functions flawless
Getting a 9mm 1911 is an improvement over a .45. Nowadays, getting a .45 1911 is a sin unless you’re getting a more classic model for historical reasons
I'm here because I just received one of these fusion 1911 9mms as a gift. Having a bit of trouble identifying the model though (not a gun expert, haven't owned one in over a decade). As it is coming from a gentleman who used to be a gun dealer, I'm thinking that it might be one of your custom guns. All I have is the serial number, any advice on identification would be great. All that aside, I already love it. It is as butter smooth as anything I have ever shot, polished stainless upper, brushed stainless lower, really nice stippling on the front and rear of the grip, and I don't know what kind of wood the scales are made out of, but they are made of some kind of dark red wood and pretty as hell.
I had a Springfield Custom Carry in 9mm. Sweet gun, allways worked. Even one of the guys complained in a way that my gun never failed. Good times, good times🤗
Yeah, my 9mm 1911 feeds flawlessly, but my 1911 38 super jammed the other day with only 8 rounds in a 9 round magazine. It was ball ammo. I think the ejector is too long. I checked the extractor tension and it was about perfect. I'm over believing that the super is more reliable than the 9mm. formerly had believed that because the action length is correct for the super.
@@fusionfirearms I think these extra long ejectors is the problem. I changed one out on my fav super govt model for a standard 9mm/38 super plain one. I had left it as was when shipped and I don't like how it crowds cartridge to where you can barely eject a loaded round. Thanks
@@fusionfirearms my 9mms never have a problem like this. one old super i had failed due to severe bullet setback but was fine otherwise. I like the plain old Browning feed ramp. When the cartridge clears it there's no extra feed ramp in the way to obstruct and the cartridge goes right onto the chamber.
@@fusionfirearms slightly radiused the bottom of the extractor, replaced ejector with shorter one and the problem disappeared. I'm over these extra long ejectors.
What is your take on the .38 Super 1911 pistol? Is it as reliable as the .45 ACP due to the almost similar bullet OAL with the .45 ACP, more propellant, and a better cartridge/extractor claw engagment, because of a larger rim compared to the 9mm?
38 Super can run just as well as the 45 acp. Does the rim cartridge help> Some, but as long as it is tuned correctly, the 38 Will Run like a singer sewing machine. I like the 38 Super, it has less recoil, the ammo is generally easy to get and it has enough power to do the job for self defense or many hunting applications.
@@fusionfirearms too bad, the recent generation didn't really warm to the .38 Super and looked for other "exotic" ammo. If I were to choose between 9mm and .38 Super, it would be .38 Super all the way. Of course, the .45 ACP is the mainstay of the 1911 platform. Really good and informative reviews.
I'm wondering when you can release a product similar to Stealth Arms Platypus/Staccato/etc but chambered in 357 SIG with a high capacity magazine, light/laser rail, optics cut and all the goodies.
Not that I could disagree, given how 2024 has gone, but this market has been all about panic buying for far too long. For anybody just getting into firearms of any price range, good luck to your wallet.
I had all kinds of reliability issues with my Ruger SR1911 in 9mm using 115 and 124 grain hollow points. But it runs perfectly with 135 grain hollow points and 147 grain FMJ flat points. 🤔 UPDATE > If a gun is ammo finicky, it's GONE! I don't have the time, patience, or money to play that game. I went back to ugly, old, reliable GLOCK!!! At least it goes bang every time I pull the trigger. 🤷 😌
Sounds like you deserve a Block. I sold mine. In plastic framed pistols I switched to CZ. If you spend trigger time behind one your Blocks won't get used anymore. It happened to me.

Good to see you back making videos. I would love to see some factory tours and the work your gunsmiths are doing.
Here here - I live nearby so I’d love to do a factory tour!
We post bench pictures on Instagram and FB Stories almost every day. Thanks for joining.
Yea I agree also!
I own aRuger 1911 in 9mm. 16000 rounds never a malfunction. Very accurate and very smooth to shoot.
Excellent
I put a little more bend in my extractor. My RIA compact 9mm runs flawlessly now.

Try chip McCormick / Dawson precision too. Expensive, but flawless…
Very cool, looks well built AND designed!
Is owning a 1911 in 9mm a sin? I'm in the market for one. Looking at the Springfield Operator..
No The 9mm is nice to shoot. Low recoil and cheaper ammo. Check out the Fusion 1911 9mms
@@fusionfirearms oh they are beautiful.. but a bit out of my reach price wise.

Good information. Might mention that good quality, clean magazines are necessary for reliability when shooting any semiautomatic pistol.
Yes, definitely... Good call. Magazine quality is also key!
@@fusionfirearmsmost 1911 hickups can quickly be traced to the magazine & solved by simply using a different mag....

It's because of New ammo technology. 9mm is all you need with new high tech ammo like underwood or gold dot, Lehi defense.
Your videos are top notch. 👏👏👏

What is your opinion about the .22 TCM in the 1911 platform?
Sorry, but I have no experience with the TMC.

Always educational. Thx

I got one because of the recoil control of a heavy steel frame but with a fast round.
A fast round?
9mm in a combat Commander is classic. I would like to see your company have an actual store, im in North Port.
We are opening an outlet center in the front of the shop. Estimated opening is around Thanksgiving. Stay tuned...:) I will be posting more details
Yeah, Man. I'll be there!@@fusionfirearms
Just a great combo
Looking forward to purchasing a Fusion Firearms in 45 and later in 10.
Excellent, thank you
Bob - How can I get a fusion firearms shirt? BTW - great video!
We are going to be adding some to the website soon.
I got mine because I love the 1911 and got it in 9mm because it's a NATO round. If our military side arm was still in 45 I would go that route
Hard to hear with all the loud music in the background.
Yes, old video... we have made many changes since we started.
1911 in 38 super can be converted to 9mm. Versatility of 2 chamberings in one frame.
Yes, you are correct.
Never had a 9mm 1911 with any problems. $500.00 imports to US made Kimbers. Scare tactic sales are for amateurs.
Me either, But too heavy of a recoil springs and light loads can be an issue. Nothing about scare tactics, just straight educational talk.

Because ammo is cheap and easy to find
The first 9mm 1911 style handgun was manufactured by Colt in 1950. So why call it a 1911? It should be called a 1950.

There were people that would not drive a car with an automatic transmission too.
