Every vid I watch from you I realise how much more I have to learn and I've been at it a while THANKS
Thank you
In my view, this Fusion series is one of the best examples of how videography improves lives. I have built several 1911 pistols for my personal competition use. My guns run well but the information that Mr. Serva shares comes from hundreds of builds not several. That information is mother's milk if you want to build your own pistols. Thank you, Fusion.
Hi Thinman,
Thank you, we try to do our best to help.
This is the best video I’ve ever seen on 1911 slide stops!
Thank you for your super nice comments. Thank you for joining us.
Good stuff, thank you for sharing . I’m doing a Springfield Garrison and will be ordering my parts from you.
Excellent, Thank you for your support!
Awesome video, and yes I am really learning a lot from your videos. I as well know I have a lot to learn, and anything that makes the 1911 more impressive and understandable, makes for one fine shooting machine, that will last. Keep up the great work and look forward to more enjoyment and learning. Keep on Rocking it Fusion!
Hi Joe, thank you for your super comments
Thank You Bob and Everyone at Fusion I Appreciate Every Video You Put Out Bob I Gain Insight and Knowledge Out Of Each One Of These Fine Videos 😀😊 Thanks Bob And Everyone At Fusion 😎👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😀😊
Glad you enjoy them. Lots More on the way!!
I love these videos. They explain the intricacies of fine tuning and generalities to look for.Slide stop, who knew? I find this fascinating and informative. Bob, you are the man.
You're very welcome! Thank you for joining in with us!!
As a lefty I used to pine for an ambidextrous slide stop, until I tried one from Sarco on another lefties pistol. It was unsatisfactory to say the least. I like extended slide stops because I release with my index finger if I don’t “slingshot” the slide. Next build I will look more closely into Fusion’s selection instead of just ordering an extended from Wilson.
Sweet we have a ton of them!
Very informative. Thank you.

Thanks another having problems with my bul armory commander 9mm 1911 9mm not locking back after the last round they sent me another slide lock looking forward installing the weekend hope that fixes it only had the gun 3wks
Glad we could help
I would love to see some builds; even just an overhead camera.
We are working on some nice build videos. These take some time to prepare.
Thanks for info.
What happens when shooting a firearm without a slide stop. Does a firearm germ or it shoots perfectly without it.?
Don't attempt to shoot a pistol without a slide stop. Very dangerous. The slide stop goes through the barrel link pin connecting it to the frame.
Bob...What type of slide stop configuration is required for .40 S&W and .357 Sig? How do you feel about those two calibers for a 1911?
Sir, You use the 9mm/10mm slide stop and 40 S&W mags ... good question
I have a bull Ult SAS II 3.25" barrel 9mm. Is there a slide stop extended for it? I have difficulty reaching it with my thumb. because the grip is a bit thick and I'm afraid that I will have some issues with a non-specific one.
yes, Check our the Fusion Website we have them
Question: Why didn't John Moses Browning design the rear face of the slide stop with a 3 degree or so angle so that the plunger would exert a mild down force on the slide stop? This would help prevent premature slide lock from recoil or bullet bump, yet be easily overcome by empty mag follower pressure. In lieu of this angle, I alway perform the dimple mod (see Bill Wilson "The Combat Auto" page 48) with a shallow Dremel divot at plunger contact point and hand file an upside down teardrop groove to tune the pressure.
This is a good idea for some instances and some calibers. This is also a good question that we will get into in a future video. Our audience is asking some very good questions for good content. Thank you
Ans yes, the dimple mod work well most of the time. But a video will be coming on this.
That would be awesome!
I've been trying to troubleshoot my 1911, my mag gets stuck and has trouble coming out and on an empty mag slide doesnt lock back, could it be the mag and the slide lock?
It is probably the magazine follower problem, and can also be a slide stop issue. I would look at both of those.
Premature slide lock with half full magazine. Check the lugs and grips?
Not sure what you mean??
@@fusionfirearms Thank you for taking the time to respond. New 5” pistol. The slide will lock back with rounds still in the magazine. I’m assuming the nose of the FMJ rounds are contacting the lug of the slide stop causing it to lock open before the magazine is empty. There seems to be no interference with the grips. I’m thinking I should just file the slide stop a bit. There is an apparent brass mark on the lug.
Where does 40SnW fall under?
The 10mm/357 SIG & 40 S&W all have the same top-end/breech-face ...etc.
Who makes a dual slide releases for 1911s?
Sorry, I do not know of any.
