Hey, great video with the diag you do up front. Very helpful. I have a 2013 Sonic with the 1.4 (same powertrain) and when I connect my test light to positive and to the PCM driver (ground) my test light does NOT illuminate. Any idea on how to troubleshoot this? I've checked all of the fuses and they are good. I've never traced wires in a wire harness and I feel like that is the next steps. Whew. TYIA!

I should add, I bought a new thermostat housing with a resistance of ~16, and the existing one tested nearly the same, so I'm pretty sure that my thermostat heater is good. It was replaced by the previous owner about 5K miles and I think they just drove with it on. I bought it from them for a "good deal" (maybe not...) and want clear the check engine light.

Fixed it. Used a toner and one I was able to trace back to the PCM, the other I couldnt trace it more than 3" from the connector. Cut back the tape and the wire broke from the connector. I struggled but used two picks and a small screw driver to push out the pin and was able to fix it with a new wire and some solder. Thanks again for the troubleshooting process shown around 2:00-2:30.

So quick question, I have been getting my check engine light on for a bit (I haven’t driven it since, its just been a hot minute because I’m broke 😅) but I took it into an auto zone to get it tested and the code that came up was P0597 twice(?) and a U0100-00. I know next to nothing about cars because I’m disabled so I never really had an opportunity to get under the hood to learn so I don’t know what they mean but trying to figure it out led me here. Anyways, back to my question, how much should this service that you did in this video *GENERALLY* cost to get fix? As I said, I’m really broke so I’m just wondering how much I should set aside to save up for this & for how long so I can try to budget it properly. Thank you in advance for any help and for posting this video (I at least now know what to look for if the shop tries to cheap me)

I'm sure it's at least a couple hours labor you'd get charged

I have a 2011 chevy Cruze 1.4 turbo and it’s stalling and turning off too, I have a small coolant leak as well, so u thing replacing the purge valve and radiator will stop the stalling ? Also the car dosent over heat i can just see the coolant on the ground when I move the car

I'm not much for guessing or speculation on what the problem is. My diagnostics are data driven start to finish starting with the relevant trouble codes and working from there. If you want to know you are replacing a faulty part then it will require some bit of inspection and testing. Otherwise you might as well set up a dart board and label it with multiple car parts and throw at it to see what the problem is. So if you're asking for help or direction on your problem I'm interested only in hard data starting with what trouble codes are set
