Great vid mate! I love my gold 2008 VE V6 Commodore 60th anniversary edition. (just a 4 speed auto) It is a beautiful machine with stock 18 inch Y spoke wheels. The engine is a sweet smooth revving beast with the simplest at home bolt-on mods with good oil and check the oil level regularly because the timing chain is also cooled by the oil. I check the oil level at running temperature after at least a minute of idling and dip it a few seconds after turning the engine off. I use Penrite HPR5 full synthetic oil which is 5w30 + 10 that is great for our stinking hot summers here which can get to 40+ around Christmas time. Oil is cheap preventative maintenance as low as or less than $10 per litre when on sale. $80 for oil and filter change done myself with minimal tools every 10000km is dirt cheap. I change my oil filter every 5000km because it is very cheap and literally takes a leisurely 15 minutes including a few sips of a tasty brew. I installed the Orsomm Performance OTR cold air intake that actually works as claimed with great throttle response, power increase and has a great growl. I bought mine second hand cheaply from a bloke that had his car destroyed in an accident. otrcai.com/ Next thing to do is remove the massive stock rear muffler that has the exhaust gasses change directions 6 times inside. Replace it with a sport straight through muffler or in my case, a 3 inch muffler delete. There is a common problem with this V6 which is very easy to fix at home. The problem is that the crankcase ventilation on the left bank is very poor with the stock PCV and people not changing oil regularly or using garbage oil, which leads to various problems including bad timing chain and variable cam timing lubrication when the PCV and oil ports block up. Super simple fix is to pull out the crankcase ventilation valve at the back of the left bank, drill the 2 vent holes a little larger and put it back in. I have economy as low as 8.5 litres per 100km on the highway with great power to overtake a 50 meter road train in seconds. Regards, Jas. Rocky Qld
Hey mate, I've got a 3.6 in my Rodeo and thinking of getting an exhaust. How does it sound with the 3 inch? Is it a bit "P-plater" ish or does it actually sound good? Also anyway you have photos of this job you've done on the PCV?
Great price really for what you get, considering someone else is doing it. NIce one guys! Never had work done but have purchased plenty of things from you guys always great customer service. Cheers
Hello sir we have some PDF's but always recommend watching a good youtube video. Parts start from $545 for a good kit in AUD. www.revhigh.com.au/product-page/ve-3-6l-sidi-llt-timing-chains-commodore?srsltid=AfmBOooBH0TZTtVWRn0HDxM8hBmxeXlGvRrHpS_L7nQujvKlu4Hp-218
Great video thanks!! Do you know if the VE 3.0 V6 is susceptible to timing chain issues and have you also heard of the reluctor wheel coming loose? My daughter has a VE OMEGA Sportwagon that has P0017 & P0018 codes as permanent codes. And also more of the same codes. I can clear the non permanent codes and it seems ro run like normal. Next time i start it the same codes log and its down on power. Is this a chain/phaser issue and what do you charge ro do the work? Thanks Kris
Mutable timing cams. Fail. Left and right. Do not commicate to each other. A flow. Put tension on the main chain. One tight one lose. Its a software ware problem. Not the chain .!!!!! Loss yess now upload. (
Great vid,and excellent that you guys make the different stages of kits, with without gasket, gears etc etc, keep up the good work guys

I had a week of fun replacing my timing chains on my LLT engine. Nearly 2 years later all is working really well.
Awesome to hear Craig :) it's not the best job haha

Great know the parts are good been stung with the eBay specials in the past.
Just subscribed, your videos are very informative. About to do the chains and gears on my 07 Calais. Do you currently have these kits in stock?
Thank you, we do need a better camera! But yes in stock! With another 30 kits coming on Wednesday.
Awesome, I will come and see you next week. Ive bought ls1 products off you before and am very happy with your quality. I'll see you early next week.
Is the later model chain actually morse (split pin) or is it just single pivot pin? The ends of the pin look round which indicates it is not morse.
Hi mate , will these fit a 2007 rodeo with a h9c motor which I believe is a LCA
Sorry for missing this, we have this in stock.
