Просмотров 1979 часов назад
Getting the turbo truck out of winter retirement to finally go back under the knife to swap the transmission back to a 4L80e from an NV4500. There's a large debate on whether it's more manly to have an automatic or manual transmission. I've made up mind and I'm gutting the 5 speed. I just want to go fast!! Hopes are to have the truck ready for spring when the Michigan weather cooperates. As alw...

We have a 2010 and 2012 with the 2.0 turbo, both broke the balance chain tensioner guide. Its obvious the guide cannot take the stress of the tensioner putting pressure on that spot. If you get a loud metallic scraping noise and vibration, or sudden fast overheating, this is probably your problem.
Thanks for sharing, keep that in mind for anyone else out there!
I’m about to go do my daughters …what size bolts were those? I’m trying to get some tools together
Can't remember off hand either 7 or 8mm
I'll have to see if this works on my f150 so I don't have to open it with a rope anymore!😂😅
Right!
🤣😂😅 That hand though! 😂😅🤣 I'll try not to Hulk out on the next one 😘😂
That little hand had me laughing. Especially when he said, "I'd like to thank my sponsor... Me!" and raised his little hand..... rolling🤣😅😂
@Captain_Yodelstein the little hand is the best 😅🤣😂 I was literally laughing out loud hahahahah
I've been holding onto them hands forever and never used them lol
How long did this last? Just wondering if i have a chance in hell to get by doin this.. just need for her to run until i can gather all the parts for the new engine to be put in.. but im pretty hopeless.. i know this probably wont fix my issue . Thanks for the video.
Still counting, thanks for the warch a gl w repair
I recognize that exploded t-case scene...😂
Now I will drive the old gal!! 🤗🤗😍😍
Did you keep the stock tq convertor in the 4l80?
Yep kept it stock, pleased with the in gear idle so far but I know less than full potential when it hits the road but had to get the trans off my bench lol
@@BustedtoBuilt right on! im sure you will enjoy the drivability of the auto also, they are lots of fun staying in boost all the time lol
I got same issue but not fixing it im not getting any problems there help me got lost communications with parking assistant and lt gate care won't start and drains battery soooo fast help me please
Lost communications with body control module on parking assistant module and lt gate taho 2010
i have a built 5.7LS that im building but im throwing a lq4 back in my truck for the time being and now i have full faith that the junkyard lq4 is going to be fine 🤣
Send it!
I’d just cut the lines and pull from driver side. Don’t have to take the dash off. Slap some heater hose on and that’s it.
Amen
Every pin but one on my splice pack is giving me ground on my meter
Best to use an incandescent test lamp so you are loading the circuit a meter or led lest light won't put a load on for accurate data
This was the exact video I needed. I was asking my boyfriend to change it and he told me to look up how much went into it. I said I was sorry and never mind lol. Thank you for the time lapse
i have though about replacing my rod bearings and cam shafts and lifters and rocker arms on my 08 ford super duty 5.4l 3v, but i dont have issues with anything i just wanna replace em to replace em to give some life left to vehicle for another 200k miles it has 245k miles already, but doing an entire timing jon with brand new complete factory cylinder heads, head gaskets, studs, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, oil pan, rod bearings, timing chain set would be nice tbh... but even then cheaper to swap the engine with lower mileage one, or remanned one and rebuild or swap the transmission out and install a new truck bed and front fenders, hood, grille, get cab mounts, cross member supports, etc... redone and cab corners, rocker panels replaced
Would have been nice to meet you. Made it to the MST tent just as you were pulling off. Got to meet a few people from the group so that was pretty cool too. I tried to spot my white h3 out there somewhere in the video. Looks like you all had a great time. I know we did.
Sorry I missed you! We definitely had a blast and sounds like you did too! Hopefully can meet at an event in the future!
Sure we will. Can't wait to wheel with more people. Love your Tahoe by the way. Thing is mean lol.
Thanks man!
Kinda upset that I didn't go.. But also.. with paint and stuff.. being fresh.. It's probably best that I didn't.
You'll be ready for the next one at least then. But would've been nice to see you there also!
@@BustedtoBuilt yeah. I'll make one... Eventually
Looks like icy chaos! Love it
Morning was good, early afternoon was a chitshow
What's up, man? I'm checking out your video now.
Appreciate it! Back to the grind here, where's your next wheeling destination?
What a fun event!! I couldn't stop laughing with joy 🤘😆🥰
Your laughs made me laugh!
I was there yesterday also. I saw your channel on the back of your truck and had to subscribe
Awesome to hear from another attendee! Thanks for the sub!
That’s what me that sunk the XJ😂😂. Whole motor was full of water and it froze just thawed and drained out 3 drain pans worth of mud
Everyone got a good show outta it!
Work is amazing
Thanks a lot 😊 much appreciated 👏
I had this same problem I looked at this video 20 times went outside yesterday and fixed my wife’s truck in 5mins THANKS BRO YOU THE GOAT 💪🏽
Glad it helped, glad she's back on the road! Thank you for the kind comment!
I had no awd ended up being i think a green and white wire broken at the connector by the rear passenger side almost by tge bumper
Hmm... I wonder how much it would be to commission some real rocksliders for the gladiator.. (Frame-mount)
I gotta work on getting a bigger shop so I can take on some jobs like that!
@BustedtoBuilt how about we start with mine. Lol
I'll put some eyes on it next time we meet up and see if something I'm comfortable with
Turned out awesome! Can't wait to check it out in person at Winterfest. Now I have to brave the dark, cold, and snow to get the F-Zomb50 ready!
Thanks man! Should be a great time!
Badass Bumper!
Thanks man!
Nice little ram-rod for the pretty girl 😍🙌
My 2007 ford expedition. Has small emissions leak and looking at this its could easily be my car problem
After over $600 on my 2012 GMC they figured out that my truck stereo was bad and that’s why my truck wouldn’t start. So I guess gm thinks it’s fine to be stranded because of my stereo. 😒
If they come with junk engine it is a junk CAR !!!!
Amen 🙏
Fingers crossed, nice video 👍
Thanks!
Can anyone please walk me through how to get to the motor blower on a 2013 Chevy cruz.. i have been watching youtube videos to figure it out, but im a dumb blonde. I got the glove box off but i just can't figure out how to take i believe the airbag to get to the motor blower ughh
I don't have a cruze handy to look at but pretty sure below the glove box is a plastic trim panel that once removed will allow you to get at blower from underneath dash to drop out. Hth
We just watched this at the mst clubhouse. What’s riot! Truck makes everything look easy
The scenery and comradery were more than enough, gotta keep it together for kentucky!
Sorry that footage was so all over... Drone did not like the branches and stuff. Lol.
I thought it was really good what you got considering the snow and tight branches! Much appreciated! I didn't have anything for that climb for footage so came in Absolutely clutch!
I was the toyota fj in a couple parts of the video, it's crazy how you walked that obstacle at 19:50 I got sucked into the rut and it looks so much worse for me then you haha 😅😅😅
Thanks man! I've always had a less capable vehicle so it's all new to me with this build. Hoping to get out with you guys again soon!
What an awesome event! So much fun! 🤙❤️
Dang, looked like so much fun! Hopefully they do again next year so I can give it a go! That one hill climb, though.... if the Tahoe had a bit of trouble, I'm not sure the F-Zomb50 would've made it. I would've given it the beans trying, though!!!
You would have had a blast! Was super fun. I think the f zomb would have been right at home out there. I do believe they are going to try and make it an annual event
@@BustedtoBuilt, I certainly hope they make it an annual event!
@@Captain_Yodelstein we will probably do it again this summer!
Well done ! Thanks ! Just subscribed.
Cheers!
Can one use a 2 or 3 jaw puller to remove the hub? I don't have the hub puller whacker that you used.
In its traditional form, no. You need to separate the hub assembly from the knuckle to do the same job as the tool demonstrated with. If you are having trouble separating the axle shaft from the hub then a puller would assist there
@@BustedtoBuilt Thank you for the clarification. Do you have an alternate method to do the job of the whacker tool? Perhaps carful use of a dead weight hammer? Something jury rigged to attach and allow whacking that is less sophisticated and costly? Currently my traction control and ABS is not working, It's probably the wheel speed sensor, but I doubt my inexpensive scanner has capability for wheel speed sensor. It's frustrating when a low cost part (sensor or wheel bearing hub) requires thousands of dollars of special tools. Thinking of low-cost work arounds, probably one could visually inspect the hub magnet, perhaps ohm out the sensor? What about using one of the cheap hand-held oscilloscopes on the wheel sensor, then spinning the wheel by hand and looking for a pulse from the sensor? One could compare pulses from both front wheels to look for a missing or different signal? I've been wanting one of the low cost hand-held oscilloscopes from Aliexpress or Amazon (about $102 for a decent one, a 40 MHz dual channel Hantek or Owon, but NOT the newest Fnirsi).
That's sweet except you didn't show how or what you did.. I'm currently doing the same thing.. and wad trying to verify some marks to confirm mine is out of time . Looking to put It neck in
I'll be the first to tell you this is a poor video that I was reluctant to put together what little footage I had. Sorry it wasn't what you wanted but this is an overly covered subject if you look anywhere else
I've got a 2011 Silverado with a no crank no start issue. Used a scan tool to check for codes and its showing P0690.
Hey MR Busted. I got 2017 4.3l AFM here. I did the parts cannon thing first and replaced all the injectors, wires, and plugs. Still have misfire (ONLY AT IDLE) on number 4, same as what you got in this video. No excessive rocker arm play, performed cylinder leakage test (passed), but compression seems low at 95-100psi across all cylinders. Im grasping at straws at this point, any thoughts?! I'm a chrysler tech and have very little exp with these motors. Any help would be appreciated.
If compression is even on all cylinders I wouldn't look too much into that if when running power seems appropriate. As far as the single cylinder misfire I would probably suspect a damaged cam lobe or lifter if everything else is checking out. A cylinder balance test with oscilloscope measuring starter draw is about the best way to confirm without cracking the engine open
@BustedtoBuilt thanks. Took to the dealership for second opinion. Even they couldn't figure it out. Needs engine. They called an ECM (replaced it). Didn't do shit all.
He called the shit poop!!!
Exactly what I was thinking!
Gd video and helpful thanks
Glad it helped!
Holy 💩!!! Kinda afraid to pop my diff cover...😬
Chitter was full..........
@BustedtoBuilt 😅🤣😂
Where's the fuel injectors located 🙏
Under the intake manifold
Would you happen to know where the fuel injectors are located🙏
Did you happen to have the PCM Relay keep clicking while the power was on? I have all the same lights going off and on and the PCM is click consciously, any advise would help. Great video by the way.
Did not share that symptom
