Y'all call getting stunned annoying, but it's exactly the same feeling as sitting on the other end of a 3 hour turn 1 combo.
I could take a nap in some of these combos or file my taxes. Doesn't help that most can get at least 2 negates on monsters on the field, a floodgate and 2 spell/traps with negates in hand or Set.
Yugioh, fix your damn game. It's not been fun since 2002.

One time in game 2 of a match I went second and my opponent set 5. I opened triple Prohibition and named Solemn Judgement, Solelmn Warning, and Solemn Strike. My opponent had all 3 facedown which were unaffected by my Prohibitions and proceeded to wreck me.

Played against a Tearlaments/Traptrix deck. It felt like wading through a swamp, but my Evil Eye/Unchained deck eventually prevailed 👁️
kashtira monsters are essencially a big "F you banish that shit. Face down too" whenever a monster effect is activated, and their XYZs are nutty too.
Never wish a Runick player good luck (I suggest burning their deck instead)

Pretty much GX is where my love of the game is at, no pendulum, no exceeds, no tuners, much simpler and cards didn't have to do 500 different things requiring magnifying glasses to read their effects, oh and it was actually a game not just I win turn 1
imo the problem is power creep. On paper Links making where you summon stuff matter is neat. Same with Xyz being able to only use their effects a limited number of times (would be more interesting in long games tho). Synchros are just Rituals but good. Pendulum summon... is a mistake, but having cards that can both be monsters and spells is interesting.
Lol. Lightsworns, CyDra OTK and DAD decks were a thing. You could very much win fast during that Era. Yugioh was game that actually got more balanced as it went on, with a few problems here and there of course.

I used to have this deck that was my go-to battle deck and I called it the Heaven and Hell deck and it was centered around sacrificing and Reviving cards and at the time the only weakness my deck had was that if someone played smart enough they could actually stall me out to the point where I have no more cards but that only ever happened once out of hundreds of battles but that was also pretty early in Yu-Gi-Oh where you didn't have turn one wins

Went +5 one day by using Ash and Misc to make Black Rose Dragon. Opponent looked at all his back row and his graveyard for about 3 mins before just sighing and packing his cards and walking out the shop.

Someone tried this shit with me. That guy didn't understand the power of Performapal Odd-Eyes Metal Claw when fusion summoned when using Polymorisation.
A Harpie's Feather Duster a day keeps the floodgate fool away.

Had a runick player stall me in game 2 (he wont g1, i had g2) til we were at time, he chains 2 cards, I ask if I can read them, he goes off that I'm trying to cheat him, after hed been misplaying all game including searching his deck after his turn for the right spell because "i dont thinkni out back the right ones with fountain" , so I give in and don't read and just banish last cards in my deck, he calls end turn with 1 second left so I draw nothing and lose instead of his loss to lp in time. This was a 4 person locals with casual decks.. I called him out on it and he then tried to spin me as the bad guy

I love how a deck designed to now let you opponent play is a competitive deck, like, if i want to play then the other player can play.
