- How to remove and replace the fuel pump and sender unit on a 2001 to 2008 Peugeot 307 with the 1.4 litre petrol engine. Yes I think it's usually built into this unit. Sometimes there's an inline filter underneath the car, in front of the fuel tank.
Is this the same for a 1.6 hdi diesel? Is there pressure in the lines next to the fuel pump? Need to change the oring seal..any help greatly appreciated
Yes I think it's the same for the 1.6hdi. There might be a small amount of pressure in the lines going to the fuel pump so have a rag ready and wear goggles, just in case :)
Man those plastic rings are an absolute bugger to get off
Without the special tool it really is !
Add penetrating spray and let sit over night. Really helps. Can remove with flat metal file, it not so sharp

Make sure the float arm on the sender unit moves up and down freely and that the contacts or the metal strips on the variable resistor are clean and not damaged or broken. is there any fuel filter, i have the same model from 2003, its benzine(petrol) and there is not a filter? anyone idea...tnx
There's a small filter at the bottom of the unit
Hi those low pressure fuel pump sender have a fuel filter built in the lower part of the pump. Thats why you have to change them every 100 k at least. Cheers

Agree. I destroyed two rings, by hammering with screwdriver. But, they was not original.
do you need on diesel version to unplug battery/acumulator and fuel pressure valve or it can replaced fuel unit/sensor without unplugging of battery !?
I would disconnect the battery any time I'm working on a fuel system, just to be sure

To depressurize the fuel system and to limit the chance of an electrical spark causing a fire

You need to safely depressurize the fuel system before you start. You could also take out the fuse for the fuel pump and then try to start the engine. This will also depressurize the fuel system.
What if I replace 15 Amp by 30 amp
You risk blowing the pump motor instead of the fuse if there's a power surge in the system for whatever reason.
Where filtro fuel;

I have Peugeot 307 1.6 hdi, 110hp(diesel). So I dont have fuel pump in the tank, only sending unit and the gauge , to see level of the fuel. My question is how does he take fuel from the tank? Are there some kind of a low pressure pump? Ofc theres high pressure pump, but Is there another pump in fuel system... On my car fuel is draining back to the tank.. so im trying to solve this problem..

Hello my Peugeot 307 fuel pump has only one sender can I replace it with the one that has both the sender and return (two nozzle). The car consumes so much fuel.
I think you can only swap it with the same type as the original
One question . My 308 1.4 vti problem with starting . I changed the fuel pump inside in older white unit . But now the car starts but first cranks a bitt when you stay a white . After you try crankk and start . Maybe need to change all the unit
About 100 euro on ebay
Filter in bottom can you buy one or just wash it out ?

@@screwsnutsandbolts ok thank got a peugeot 407 2.2 petrol no filter on car dealer say it's in tank its look the same as 307 so have to take off and have a look no info any were on net may be first to open one some have filter in like Honda Toyota thank any way all videos help

It might be underneath a cover of some sort. Just follow the fuel line from underneath the car and see if there's one there.
@@screwsnutsandbolts been to peugeot dealer strange says no filter. only in tank. but you can buy a filter on ebay? . found out English peugeot 407 no filter. but some 407 petrols a broad have them. bizarre no one noes other people same have problem found. i followed fuel lines from front to back even taken plastic floor pan shields off its mental no manuals available for peugeot 407 petrol no info at all mental thanks any way this mite help some other peugeot 407 drivers pulling hair out 2.2 petrol saloon 2006

Yes I think so. The manual says this: Fuel lift pump:
The fuel lift pump (2.0 litre models with
particulate filter only) and integral fuel gauge
sender unit is electrically-operated, and is
mounted in the fuel tank.

On some models it's built inside this sender unit and in others it's underneath the car in front of the gas tank.

I cut my ring because it was seared. I used a screwdriver and small cutting pliers for this, you have to do it carefully so as not to spoil the thread. I put on a new ring.
