Useful video. A few days ago I bought a 2002 year built 206 1.9 D dw8 and my fuel gauge isn't showing correctly. Now I know how I can safely remove the fuel pump for inspection.
For a French car a surprisingly straightforward job .Very well explained as always. If it was my car,I can't help thinking that for some reason I would feel very anxious if I had a heavy smoker sitting next to me in the passenger seat . I wonder why .............? ❤
Did you notice the little bump on the valve cap? Do you think does it have some purpose? If yes, what do you think what is it for? :) Thanks for the vid anyway. Very useful.
I can't find any diagram showing a relay for the pump, just that Number 2, 15 amp fuse marked as 'Canister solenoid valve - Fuel pump' shown in the link I sent you.
I'm really confused I need help my Peugeot says is full so I try to open the fuel pump but is too tight but the white tank is showing the petrol if I shake the car is it possible that the car is really full
If you need to depressurize the system you will. If you don't, you could have fuel spraying out under pressure when you disconnect the hoses from the unit
I have Peugeot 406 pretty much same system like this one.. There was leak of gas when the tank was fuel and I parked on a hill.. my mechanic said to me I could try to see and get new seal there.. Im 18 going 19 soon its my first car (its petrol 1.8l 16v sedan) and cars and bikes are my hobby and I did some little things like swap seats in my parents 206 so I can work on this but I was scared.. but I tried it.. When I did remove the ring (I bought new one and new seal and the ring is identical and OEM part) and when I tried it putting back like on video, it wouldnt go in.. I pressed the pump down and try to screw it on and it was okay but then it crossthreated I think becouse one side had gap other didnt and for the life of me I couldnt get it on.. Im certified welder, machinist and fabricator but not a mechanic and even I tho I feel stupid asking but can you help me how to get that ring to go straight and how much to tighten it? I dont see nothing about this in my native lauguage but I can read english pretty well so any tips? Also I have common hand tools at home nothing special.. pump was okay ring I put new one like in video (it was same in 406 as I taken pump off) I also got a about little under half a fuel in the tank.. is it problem or should I syphon it or something? Everything seems fine othervise only thing is there is small tension when I push pump down if I let go it come up a little (I guess bcs the float) but just can't get that ring on..
Yes there is resistance when you push it down as it is trying to float. I think the threads only line up in one position so keep the ring pressed down and gradually rotate it counterclockwise until it 'clicks' into place and then try and tighten it clockwise. If it still won't close, is it possible that the rubber seal getting caught in the threads as you tighten it ?.

That depressurizes the fuel lines so fuel won't spray out when you disconnect the pump hoses

Thanks for the vid anyway. Very useful.
I have a 206 1.6 16v 2003 model and I can't find the fuel filter. Are you aware if this model has one ?
It's usually just in front of the fuel tank underneath the car or built into the sender unit in the top of the fuel tank
Hello dear friend ; BSI removal & reinstall , thank you
There are no power to my fuelpump, Do you know where the fuelpump fuse is?
You should be able to find it using this link: fuse-box.info/peugeot/peugeot-206-1999-2008-fuses
@@screwsnutsandbolts do you know what relay is for the fuelpumpe?
And thanks.
What year is your Peugeot 206 ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts its peugeot 206 sw 1.6 2003

Hello sir, may I ask if does it has a filter?
Some have a filter inside the sender unit and some have a fuel filter underneath the car, near the fuel tank
I'm really confused I need help my Peugeot says is full so I try to open the fuel pump but is too tight but the white tank is showing the petrol if I shake the car is it possible that the car is really full
I really couldn't say if it's full or not. The pump locking rings can be very tight if they haven't been opened for years
fuel filter inside the pump housing?
Yes
Is this the same as the 2010 model please
I haven't worked on the newer model so I'm not sure. It's probably very similar though
It's usually in fron of the fuel tank like in this video: ruclips.net/video/T8CL9LKPdPA/видео.html
Thanks
You're welcome !
My car is citroen c4 hatchback, 2004-2011 but I can't find the filter.
Hello brother I have it in Peugeot 206 1.1 44 kW hp I have a problem (error P0170 ) what does this problem mean please thanks
Hi, this link should give you the info you need: obd2pros.com/dtc-codes/p0170/
The pump for this 2004 1.1 petrol car is Peugeot 1525-EA
@@screwsnutsandbolts merci
If i need to change the tank sensor, do i need to do all the steps at the beginning from the engine?
If you need to depressurize the system you will. If you don't, you could have fuel spraying out under pressure when you disconnect the hoses from the unit
@@screwsnutsandbolts could you not theoretically achieve that by unscrewing the gas cap though?
@@rimmersbryggeri yes you can just unscrewing the gas cap is enough to release the pressure.
Is it same process for 207 too
I haven't worked on a 207 so I don't know. It should be a very similar process
I can't fit the ring back on , it's just wobbling on the top, can't get it to thread on. What's wrong?
Is the o-ring getting caught up in the threads ?
Thx
You're welcome

Beurk.
Is it same for Peugeot 508?
I haven't worked on one so I don't know, sorry
