Once again Tim a great video, my late Great Mothers relatives all came from your area, I also had contacts "up" there to a certain magnetic chuck manufacturer. The accent is fantastic to me [ a Kent lad ] keep them coming as we have a 12 plate C1 , had it from new only done 67000 miles. Your videos have helped so much. Thank you.
@@geoffoliver6788 thanks mate, it’s great to hear the vids have helped. The only issue with the accent around here is that it’s impossible to sound intelligent even if you are, so I’ve got no chance 😂
After 7 years, I've moved my Aygo on. Don't have the money or time to spend on fixing whatever is up with the gearbox, I've spent £1600 on it this year already, so I've traded it in for a 2017 Yaris. Thanks for all your videos and help Tim, I'll still keep amongst the Citybuy scene.
Always handy to know how to switch the fuel pump, most people wouldn't even consider it as an important part of overall performance. Great vid as usual. Cheers.
Yea definitely worth knowing. I’ve had issues with fuel pumps on bikes causing lack of power so I just thought it was worth trying for what it is to do and what it cost. Tbh I think the issue is more to do with the big wheels I put on, but I know that due to the filter arrangement these cars can suffer with poor performance when the filters get blocked up and just wanted to rule it out
Appreciate the update mate. It could be VSS, certainly, but it doesn't give any of the other symptoms of them. No smoke from cold stat, no smoke after applying throttle after a long downhill run etc. I've had them go before on older cars and the symptoms were pretty different, but the Sirion is different engine so who knows? There's definitely a chance you're right there. I think there's an additive out there that softens rubber seals up IIRC? You'll have to put the shitter on the dyno to know if your fuel pump's worked or not, though 😆
@@UPnDOWN yea I’ve heard of the stuff for softening seals but can’t remember what it’s called. I DEFINITELY need to get mine o a dyno, for curiosities sake as much as anything else. It’s on my list of things to do!

I supposed if you’ve got to replace the sender unit once every 150k miles and it’s cheap enough, then it’s not the end of the world. I’m not sure how much they cost at main dealers though. If I’d have known for sure where the filter was I’d have possibly pulled fuel backward through it to see if it could he flushed out
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I changed an Evoque front exhaust section last week , at 21k miles and with two sensors thrown in the parts bill was just over 3k ,,, so whatever the fuel pump costs .... its cheap.
Hey man, I love your videos. They've been invaluable in helping me maintain my Aygo. This is a long shot but you're the man so I have to ask, do you think you could make a video detailing how to install a passenger operated window switch on the driver's side? Or if possible relocate both window switches on the centre console like some old Italian / French cars? Cheers man!
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideosDo you reckon you could still install an aftermarket system? I was considering going down that route to be honest and just replacing the current switch system entirely 😂
Hey I was wondering if you would possibly be looking into swapping the shift lever from mk1 to a mk2 model, been thinking of doing it and would love a video on it. Also I’ve recently installed a ramair induction kit and would like your thought on if a oil catch can would be a good thing to invest in as I’ve noticed a fair amount of dirty oil being realsed
@@joshhoyle339 hopefully I’ll fit a mk2 gear leaver one day when I find one cheap enough, as for the catch can. There’s definitely no harm in it. I’ve just made a video testing a similar intake to the RamAir ones, will be released in a few weeks.

Tim, my gearbox is stripped off. Clutch and pressure plate is off the flywheel now too, after the pedal sank about a week ago I’ve assumed the clutch has been burnt out but what’s the likelihood my slave cylinder has failed? The clutch isn’t worn down to the rivets, the pedal wasn’t spongey at all before but did feel the taddest bit loose what’s the chances it is this? Before I get mt car all back together and it’s still foooked
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos looked a bit more into it and realised that last night, the cable is tight down to the pedal and the clutch fork is straight and solid🙄
Well it's seems the lifelong filter is doing it's job well. Maybe the car feels slow because you have got used to the ultimate power! Or maybe the cold redlining has finally caught up with you... I'll await the engine swap video! 😂
Oh man, that's one really nasty looking filter😅. Almost like to see how mine is doing. 🤔 Maybe a good idea to try and delete that one and instead try to use an inline filter so you can see what's going on with it.
I dunno where my fuel pressure gauge has gone, but tbh it wouldn’t show the effect of a blocked filter unless it was during running under load. A restriction caused by a blocked filter wouldn’t reduce the max pressure unless it was being bled off at a rate where the pump couldn’t maintain, if that makes sense
i dread to think how filthy 99% of the fuel filters are xD why they didn't just make that bottom half unscrew so you could switch em idk, surly cannot be good for any of them
I know! Tbh, if I’d have known for sure how it was arranged, I’d have probably tried to clean the filter by forcing the fuel out of it backwards with an airline or something. It would have been great to seek all the dirt wash out!
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos that would have been a good video tbf 🤣 shoulda got proper scientific, let the fuel out of each pump drain through a coffee filter and see how great they're working. Tbf you probably could cut around the casing relatively easily and melt it back together with a soldering iron. unsure of any compatible filter inserts though, so you'd probably have to blast it as clean as possible nd make do
