Enjoyed this, SBSV! Idea for a future project: I decided I want to paint my current shitter C1 and have been watching about 18 thousand YT vids on painting cars with rattle cans. Some turn out like a polished pig and some pretty shockingly good. So there you have it! First a bit Karate Kid ("Sand'a car, Daniel-San") to roughen the clear coat for adhesion, and then you don't even need primer if you use an enamal paint (like Rustoleum) or a nice matt acrylic (like Autotek). PS.. Bright yellow is said to be the best colour for rattle cans - can barely see imperfections and naturally blends between section. I'm going matt black though. Go for it..... I dare ya!
Cheers mate. I’m shit at bodywork but the sill on the other c1 actually turned out way better than I could have ever expected. If you’re painting onto paint you just need to scotch the surface. Matt black is one of the easiest colours not to show imperfections too as there’s no shine to reflect off them, where as gloss black is probably the worst for it lol. Good luck.
Nice one. I'm thinking of getting a piper manifold as well for the Aygo. But now you mentioned hollowing out the stock cat, that might actually be a good idea and save a few quid. To pass the local MOT I'll just get a universal sport cat and install it somewhere in the middle
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos shouldn't make much difference because at 1000-2000 RPM, even at full throttle, you're only creating 1/6-1/3 of the gas at 6000 RPM. Maybe gave a few extra hosses though
@@schmittalain thanks mate. I got the manifold from a lad on the CityBug club on facebook. It’s a really good group full of helpful people. As for clutch, not sure about reenforced but I fitted a Blueprint one which are usually decent.
Cheers mate. The difference isn’t huge but is there, it’s mainly at higher revs. It’s been on a couple of weeks now and actually feels slightly more flat at low revs and seems to use a little more fuel too. The sound is definitely better though, it does make it louder which I didn’t really want but the note is better.
Just to demonstrate my far superior knowledge, the ring end of the 22mm spanner WILL fit over the connector plug of the lambda sensor so you don’t slip off using the open ended side and batter your knuckles
Forgot how long geared these cars are, been awhile since I've owned a 107, but that's a good pull in 3rd. Mine was model with a rev counter, can't remember what the redline is, but for a 5 speeder you were near top speed in just that one gear. I never used to rev mine out like that, so the mighty 1ltr bug impresses me more.
Very jealous that yours isn’t leaking I haven’t been able to find a way to stop my piper manifold from leaking at the flange currently got 2 gaskets and a sealant all around it and it’s still leaking
One question, iam not sure but have you already remove the catalyst from inside of the manifold ( the old one ) before you take it out to put the new one? If yes did you see any difference in performance? Thank you for your nice videos even with one hand!!👋
Hi mate, yes the cat I removed was already hollowed out. The difference after fitting the Piper wasn’t that much to be honest, a bit more power higher up the rev range but is actually a little bit worse at lower revs and seems to use a little bit more fuel as a result. It’s also a bit louder/more raspy than before.
Yea I’d say you’re bang on. It is slightly quicker, but as a downside it also seems to have lost a tiny bit of grunt at low revs. It seems to have moved the torque curve higher up the rev range a tiny bit.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos silly question mate, but any idea what size the bolts are? It seems the 4 manifold bolts are 12mm? What about the cat? Are they 12s as well? Im just trying to get all the tools organised before i whip the bumper off. Thanks mate
Ah shit I can’t remember tbh. The bolts that go into the bottom of the cat usually knacker up and rust away tbh so may be worth getting a pair of new ones and new springs if possible
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos ahh, thanks for the reply anyway. Hi mate. It won’t pass with a decat unfortunately. Last MOT I had to borrow a scrap catalyst and refit for the test. Pain in the dick tbh, but only took 10 mins to fit as all the bolts were free due to being off recently.

Don’t you just wish that when you’re fitting a wheel they’d used studs so you could align the wheel without having to support its weight. I wouldn’t want to fit a massive wheel to a very large vehicle with bolts!!!!
They aren’t road legal I wouldn’t fit one as they cause pollution. I don’t have kids so there isn’t their health to worry about. On a disused airfield of course where I later nearly caught a non genuine police car at 105 miles an hour in the same Q plated Mini😂😂😂😂
