Been a Panthers fan since '95, but I've thought Brees has been the best QB to play the game for years. The fact that he has stuck it out in NOLA for as long as he has is incredible. If he was on a better, well rounded team, I think he'd be rocking rings out the ass! I think Tom and Peyton are great, but Brees is on another level. The fact that Brees had 2 pro bowl running back actually helps him out a lot even if he never threw to them. It means that Brees was more free to throw the ball as the defence was worrying about the run game as much as, if not more than the passing game. It lifted pressure for him to make huge throws and hence, account for more yards achieved in his career. Plus Jimmy Graham as a pro bowl tight end helps out quite a bit too.

Brees did most of that because his teams never had a good rushing threat. The entire offense rested on Brees' shoulders. Of course his numbers would be higher than Brady's. New England's offense has always had more balance to it than New Orleans'. Then there's the matter of New England always having a better defense. Drew was constantly playing from behind because his defense sucked. When you are behind, you air it out more. Brady's defense keeping them in the lead most of the time meant more clock-killing play which impacts his stats. Brees is still one of the top 3 QBs in the league right now, and will certainly be near the top with Brady of all-time greats. I just hate when fans use only the points that support their opinion without actually thinking about the big picture. It's a team sport and one player is affected by everyone else on the field. Even special teams has a huge impact on the team's success.

While everything stated here is true, it should be said that Pro Bowls are often a popularity contest. It can definitely be argued that Marques Colston and Michael Thomas both have had seasons they should have made a Pro Bowl. That said, I hope Brees continues setting new records, and that his records become untouchable. And of course, that he gets at LEAST one more ring before he retires. If he had good defenses at his back all these years, there isn't a doubt in my mind that he'd have three or more rings right now.

I agree that Drew Brees is ridiculously underrated. I think the Saints in general are underrated. I think it's because the team has historically been so bad that people who are not Saints fans don't take the team seriously. Even with a Superbowl championship, even when we have a good season, good solid team, etc. I notice people never give the Saints their props. Drew Brees is a victim of that along with Marques Colston and several other underrated Saints players. At this point I just accepted that's the way it will always be for the Saints.

Been a Panthers fan since '95, but I've thought Brees has been the best QB to play the game for years. The fact that he has stuck it out in NOLA for as long as he has is incredible. If he was on a better, well rounded team, I think he'd be rocking rings out the ass! I think Tom and Peyton are great, but Brees is on another level. Literally carries his team each year, on his back. In years to come, I could see A-Rod being talked about in the same light.

The fact that Brees had 2 pro bowl running back actually helps him out a lot even if he never threw to them. It means that Brees was more free to throw the ball as the defence was worrying about the run game as much as, if not more than the passing game. It lifted pressure for him to make huge throws and hence, account for more yards achieved in his career. Plus Jimmy Graham as a pro bowl tight end helps out quite a bit too.

Brees did most of that because his teams never had a good rushing threat. The entire offense rested on Brees' shoulders. Of course his numbers would be higher than Brady's. New England's offense has always had more balance to it than New Orleans'. Then there's the matter of New England always having a better defense. Drew was constantly playing from behind because his defense sucked. When you are behind, you air it out more. Brady's defense keeping them in the lead most of the time meant more clock-killing play which impacts his stats.
Brees is still one of the top 3 QBs in the league right now, and will certainly be near the top with Brady of all-time greats. I just hate when fans use only the points that support their opinion without actually thinking about the big picture. It's a team sport and one player is affected by everyone else on the field. Even special teams has a huge impact on the team's success.
I could not find any flaws in the video stats, or his opinion. I'm a born and raised Steelers fan and I agree with everything this man has said. Good job on collecting and verbalizing the facts in this video.

And, as the Who Dat faithful are aware, the fact that Marcus Colston never made the Pro Bowl was a travesty. Colston was just another example of how easy to go under the radar, when you play in New Orleans.

I'm not even a Saints fan, but Brees is the GOAT, and it annoys me when everyone says Brady is. 4 of his Super Bowls were not won by him, 2 from Vinatieri, one from Malcolm Butler (Seahawks should have won obviously) and one from the Falcons being complete and utter idiots and handing it to the Patriots on a silver platter. Now I'm not saying Brady isn't great, because he is, but what Brees has done in his career is astonishing. Just imagine if Brees was with the Patriots and their defenses over the years, he'd have 10 Super Bowls. Saying a kicker won Tom Brady two Superbowls tells me you're not yet ready to evaluate the individuals you're attempting to. Malcolm Butler didn't win the game for Brady any more than Tracy Porter won the game for Brees. You either love Brees too much or dislike Brady too much and it's painfully obvious how far you're reaching to be grasping at straws. The man has started at quarterback on 8 Superbowl appearing teams and won 5 and you wanna act like he only "earned" one of them. The only thing you said with a shred of truth to it was how the Falcons handed the game to them on a silver platter. Yes, this happened and then Brady drove down the field about 5 times for scores and made them pay over and over and over and over and over.
What you should have said is something along the lines of: "Yeah, Tom Brady is the greatest winner ever at the QB position, but he was blessed with A+ supporting cast and the greatest coach ever and together they took advantage of every circumstance they could on their journey. I feel as though Drew Brees could have done the same and then some as he's a better individual player than Brady." This would have been more accurate, less biased, and frankly, less childish.

While everything stated here is true, it should be said that Pro Bowls are often a popularity contest. It can definitely be argued that Marques Colston and Michael Thomas both have had seasons they should have made a Pro Bowl.
That said, I hope Brees continues setting new records, and that his records become untouchable. And of course, that he gets at LEAST one more ring before he retires. If he had good defenses at his back all these years, there isn't a doubt in my mind that he'd have three or more rings right now.
