The only reason the Saints were in that position was because of Brees. During 2012 and 2014-2016 the team had a HORRIBLE defense. Brees's magic kept those teams at 7-9. Without him they would have bottomed out at 2-14 probably. That gave them time to do a slow rebuild to get all the players for the 2017-2020 run.

I mean, c'mon, that has got to be one of the worst defenses ever, you let Austin Collie and Kembrell Thompkins get open and pick you apart?

Post-concussions Austin Collie in his first ever game for the Patriots too… I believe that 4th down was his second catch as a Patriot, the first being earlier they same drive

I remember exactly where I was when I watched this game. I was sitting on my old maroon couch at my parents house and I was trying to not rip my hair out. Time has flown by.

Saints got the ball twice near the end of the game and only used maybe 30 seconds. Terrible time management.

Even when the Saints defense was good, maybe even elite, they still found ways to let Brees down in the final minutes/seconds.

And the pass is caught by Kenbrell Thompkins, and that’s a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that’ll be a home run. And that’ll make it a 4-0 ball game.

19:27 best part of the game. Love watching either one of the Ryan brothers lose. A little more satisfying when Rex loses, but Rob losing is good too. Although I do respect their dad, Buddy.
