I was at a friend's house watching this game and remember making the mistake of calling it a night and heading home after Brady threw that pick with a touch over 2 minutes left. Got home, checked the score and couldn't believe it. Never made the mistake of counting him, or this team in particular out again, and boy did they climb out of some insane holes that season...
I was never a Saints "fan" but I really shed a few tears when I saw Brees retire. Pure class. Awesome QB. When Brady gets out I will be throwing the biggest, drunkest, happiest party ever! Brady not pure class player.
The only reason the Saints were in that position was because of Brees. During 2012 and 2014-2016 the team had a HORRIBLE defense. Brees's magic kept those teams at 7-9. Without him they would have bottomed out at 2-14 probably. That gave them time to do a slow rebuild to get all the players for the 2017-2020 run.
I always yearned to see a Brady-Brees Super Bowl but it was not to be. The closest they came to a post-season game was the 2020 Divisional round with Brady's Bucs.

Much as people remember Rob's face here, it is hard not to feel frustration. Your defense gets a 4th down stop and pick from Tom Brady in the 4th Quarter and your offense isn't able to put the game out of reach.
Brady beat the Saints twice with 5sec or less on the clock and knocked them out of the 20-21 playoffs after being crushed by them twice in the regular season giving Brady a 6-5 edge over them which is still impressive for the saints considering Brady has never lost to any NFL team more than he has beaten them. The Fins beat him the most, 12xs, but they were in his division and he beat them twice as much. What a legend.
Saints-Patriots should have been the Super Bowl Matchup a few years ago, to bad the refs screwed the Saints against the Rams, stole an epic matchup from everyone and instead got one of the worst Super Bowl games in a long time
That was actually smart on the pats to go for it on fourth down on their own territory with 3 mins left. If punt the ball one first down with that much field ends game.
