Good informative video vince @vcgconstruction
Thank you for all the support Antonio it means a lot to us!!
@@VCGConstruction you guys are very welcome Cuz anytime
For all you "fan" boys, as a Milwaukaholic....IAM liking these Skil tools!
Same here
What's up Vince, I have mentioned before I have bought 5 Skil PWRCore tools and they have been really reliable. I also own Milwaukee but honestly lately the skill has been my main go to. Still waiting to see some more skill tools on TTR. You rock Vince I appreciate all these reviews and Tool test raw is by far the best. Have a good day.
This is the one I was looking to pick up. Thanks for the review.
Skil is really coming out with some pretty cool stuff. Love the duel USB port adapter thing. They’ve really made a huge jump in quality with these latest offerings. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the switch.
Awesome video packed full of information like always brother 💪👍👊. Very thankful for everything yinZ do for the trades community. Looking forward to#TTR this week!!!
Skil has caught my DIY, smart device user attention.
Hope everyone’s evening is going good. Another good Video Presentation! Great job! 👍🧰👍😍
Had no Idea there was such a brand as SKIL before watching a lot of your videos, looks nice! I would definitely want to see a TTR with something against a SKIL impact! Am really liking the videos guys! Check for new ones every day!
Skil is changing the game with their batteries 🔥
ive been buying into skil for my first power tools and so far im impressed, lets hope they can handle the jobsites.
Thanks to your reviews I found about Skil PWRCore tools and have just invested in a 6 tool set of the 12v line for only $205 - was looking at Hercules and have a few of their 20v tools but the Skil tools have more options look very powerful and feature rich and are more affordable with more tools available than Hercules - Harbor Freight needs to expand their Hercules line and include more combination sets to compete in my opinion.
Thx for the review! Looks like a good grinder! Happy Wednesday 😊
Thank you for all the support MJC!
When you have the chance please do a ranking on grinders and oscillators, keep it up VCG.
Nice that it comes with the USB adapter inverter @vcgconstruction
For those of you that have the Milwaukee rover floodlight 2360-20 you can add a 12 volt outlet and have portable power by connecting whatever 12 volt accessories you want to it. I did that to mine because there's enough space inside if you take it apart and add it to the side where the AC outlet is located. As long as you use stuff that's rated for 12 to 24 volts there shouldn't be any issues. In my case I added a dual USB port rated up to 24 volts to keep me from plugging in things that are not rated above 12 volts.
I have a impact driver Combo never disappointed me and the battery came with a dual usb port
Have a couple of the tools. Impact driver, drill and skil l saw. Love them all. Angle grinder is on order.
Great video . I'm wondering if an upgraded larger battery can be used with this tool.
Yes and yes and yes aaaaand yes! Love it love my SKIL tools. No its not a gimmick and I reap the benefits everyday at work.
BOOM
Yo Fellas! USB device is definitely a plus! Hope you gentalmen are having a wonderful week. Keep on keeping on with the great vids my friends!
Any advice on removing the lock-nut when it’s stuck? Brand new product I can’t get the lock-nut off to even put a disc on
I was liking it when you said onboard wrench storage, that wrench is never around when I need it. However, I rarely use that handle and will still be losing the wrench in the handle anyway.
Good feedback cuz!! 👍🏻
The lock on switch style grinders have there uses compared to a paddle style grinder and or a trigger style grinder... lock on grinders are normally used for tasks that take a long time compared to a trigger or paddle style grinder that are normally used for quick work tasks they all have there place and I have each style great work vince @vcgconstruction
Thank you for sharing the info Antonio we appreciate it!
Please do a deep dive into the Skil batteries.
I use the dewalt line and bought the dewalt usb adapter for hurricanes, power outages, etc that don't warrant using the generator. It would take a lot to convince me that skil is any better than Walmart or harbor freight stuff.
Love my skil 10” job site table saw, and 10” miter will be buying into their 12v line have m18fuel tools, and wanted to go m12 but I had an issue with my miter saw and after owning it for 3 months skil is sending me a brand new one. That kind of customer service made my decision on who’s 12v line I’m going with. Hey at least they will all be the same color 😂 full disclosure I have a lot of piss green mixed in too
Yeah all of the major brands have those battery adapters to charge phones and stuff! I have the Bosch one and an 8ah battery that I can use with it. That set up blows away the brick chargers they sell for the same purpose for capacity!
Looks like a pretty nice grinder, its noce that skill is uping their game
They are defineltly higher quality than their older tools!
I just bought a combo set of the 12v. We will see how they do
Hey Vince. Quick question. Grinders do take a lot of power. What is the run time on that Skil under a load with a full battery. Which grinders give the most power vs. run time?
I run Milwaukee and DeWalt platforms. I did not like the brushed Milwaukee grinder.
The new skil products are pretty good. I believe them to be at Pro level.
im wondering what the differences ( aside from length ) are between the two 4.5 PWR-core grinders SKIL produces.
Oooo a grinder
Nice grinder like prefer me makita stilll tho has aft dunno about the kickback technology on them
Hell yeah brother!!!!!?!!
That's right Joseph!!
Can you review the Milwaukee 2564-20?
Here’s the deal skil is getting better with their core 20 volt.
For sure, my eyebrows are definitely raised with Skil's new offerings... aesthetically, functionally, *and* financially. I just recently purchased an M18 Fuel 4.5er. I'm wondering how this will perform against it. 🤔 TTR!!! 🔥
I'm right there with ya. I been thinking about getting a Milwaukee grinder since Home Depot is running deals on stuff right now....I can get it as a free tool by buying the 8ah 6ah rapid charger and bag for 299. But Skil is making me think twice. 🤔🤨
@@bhribik21ify I'm still in my return window. I think I got my M18 FUEL grinder on promo, too. Something along the lines of $135 including tax (bare tool). But I just saw the Skil grinder on Amazon for $140... and it's a kit. 🤔 I'm super happy with the Skil digital level and oscillating tool that VCG recommended awhile back. Decisions, decisions...
@@xuser9980 I know man. Skil looks like they are killing it right now. I love my Milwaukee stuff. I'm pretty invested in Milwaukee so it's usually a easy decision for me but again I like what skil is doing. There battery and chargers are dope!!!
@@bhribik21ify Yeah man. Up until recently, 95% of my inventory has been Milwaukee, not only because of their quality but I didn't want to have the worry of different platforms' batteries, chargers and what not taking up space. But, the quality of the new Skil stuff *and* its affordability... *and* the fact that they look good and match my other tools... it's becoming a no-brainer.
They have caught my interest for sure! I am still not sure about their durability though! I like grinders with on off switches though because it frees up my hands to hold it however I want!
Do a brush vs brushless
Can you some reviews on lasers
Dead battery and jump charger will give you 25 percent in a short time thats very nice vince @vcgconstruction
yeah...i heard some tings 😂
Looks like a solid product do you think it feels as good or better than the Milwaukee M18?
Defineltly impressive and you can't beat it for the price! I think compared to the Milwaukee the price difference makes the SKIL the winner, unless you can find a tool deal on the Milwaukee.
I able to not laugh I also able to laugh at some!
Looks like Skil wants to give Milwaukee some real competition.... However I don't think I will be switching.... Between the M12 and M18 line trying to replace everything corded, Pneumatic, and even specialist hand tools like rivet guns and grease gun... Any one else has a long way to go to catch up.... I am also too heavily invested in the M18 and M12 line to switch because one cordless Skil saw barly beat the Milwaukee, Milwaukee also makes their battery chargers support both systems... Milwaukee would have to really make me mad at them or someone would have to come out with several new tools that they couldn't match to make me switch.... Having said that it is good that Milwaukee is getting more competition, it will prevent them from getting lazy with their normal customers
I just bought one this morning (with electrical power chord), I'm disappointed with the lock-on power switch (not quite impressed)..!
Man, brands like Kobalt, Craftman, and Skil are coming out swinging! What a time to be alive!
Plus what's the name of the intro music?
I want it in 12v
Wow
Thanks for watching Sean!
i have a drill but no grinder
👊👌
VCG construction Vince skilsaw the it again very nice good for them skilsaw you goooooooooooooo and like always smashing my like botton Texas style yahoooooooooo katakaboooooooooooooooom
Bosch X-lock grinders er best
Without brake
bought into skil for my first battery tools (im 18) VERY impressed with the pwrcore 20 line, but the stuff that says 20v max instead of brushless is pretty junk. i have 5 skil power tools the 3 brushless tools go head to head with dewalt and milwaukee, but the 2 20v max tools are worse than most 12v lineups.
Please stop saying that just DIYers will find the USB ports useful. I'm a professional who uses a grinder almost all day, and I would appreciate those special features.
That quick charger is going to absolutely kill the longevity of those batteries. Li-ion longevity 101, you don't want to push the batteries past 20% and 80% for long term longevity, and you don't want to pound in every last bit of energy you can, a proper fast charging curve has a gradual ramp up to max charging and a gradual ramp down. Taking a fully dead battery and charging it to 25% in five minutes is going to kill any longevity you'd have with a proper charge cycle.
Honestly, knowing how the industry can be, and knowing how the industry knows 90% of their customers aren't going to understand the basics of batteries other than volts and amp hours, this is clearly a form of accelerated planned obsolescence. Everyone who understands anything about how batteries actually work, especially li-ions, knows that consistently doing rapid charges in this way is going to shorten the battery's lifespan.
Yeah, it might work in a pinch, but just pick up a second battery with a standard charger, you're going to need a second battery when the damaged one kills itself anyways, might as well get a second one early and take proper care of the two, problem solved without needing idiotic forms of rapid charging. Hopefully these rapid chargers have a ton of built in protections, just so they don't literally blow a battery up; see li-ion RC batteries with bad charge cycles and abuse, the outcome isn't a fun time.
Since a quarter of a percent would be .25% it's decimal form would be 0.0025.
Please proofread your title.
Why? What's wrong?
@@amoscardoza5253 one word was spelled wrong....too...should be 'to' 😂
It's too bad Skil bought in to that Dewalt-style "20V max" marketing B.S.
This power core grinder has quit working and no longer functions money wasted!!!😡
