I like that at 06:47 or so, you can see the blocks are P-switchable and the thwomp-ball is channeling you into that area, it's giving the player the impression that they're about to be hit by a sudden p-switch and that the solution will be to hold onto the vines. Of course, if you hold onto the vines, the ball hits you.

Also, Beat Hazard, which is more of a bullet-hell 2d space shooter like Galaga and Asteroids combined, with boss fights, takes music from you own library and procedurally generates the enemy spawn patterns and such. You'd probably have a good time with both.
