@@theozarkpodcast being from eastern central Missouri I always just assumed that we were Ozarkers. Growing up a stones throw from the Meramec river I'd say culturally that's all we would fit as. Great Episode. Learn something new every time.

A small world. I grew up south of Batesville. Now i live 5 minutes from Ozark National Forest. I work south side of Melbourne.

I live in Tulsa. My mother's side of the family has lived in Cherokee and Adair county since the 1820's. Cherokee heritage has always been a big thing in our family but so has Ozark heritage. I'd love to hear more about the Oklahoma Ozarks. Also, I don't consider Miami to be in the Ozarks either lol.

It’s important to be proud of where you’re from and own it!
So is the Ozarks in the South? I say yes, but I'm from Arkansas Ozarks about 10 miles from the MO line.
Jury is still out, depending on who you ask! I would say the Ozarks has predominantly southern values and traditions, but a culture that isn’t confined to the South or the Midwest. The Ozarks has its own unique culture entirely.
