Von Gott will ich nicht lassen ('From God shall naught divide me') BuxWV 221 by Dietrich Buxtude (1637-1707), played on the 1963 Hammarberg organ in Boda Church, Rättvik, Sweden. The organ has some pipe material from the previous 1874 Åkerman organ. Here I'm using: GR: Principal 8', Oktava 4', Oktava 2', Mixtur IV; PED: Subbas 16', Principalbas 8', Flöjt 4', Aliquot II (5 1/3'+3 1/5'), Posaune 16', GR/PED.

Back to Buxtehude, but a more explosive side than I've previously shown...!💥He wrote two preludes for this hymn, one quiet and meditative, and this, which is in more of an outgoing stylus phantasticus, the sort of prelude where you would expect a nice fugue to follow. A little bit of carnival before Lent starts.🎶The hymn is about how we should stay with God, because he stays with us day and night, he takes our hands and leads us on the right way etc.😉
