Chorale partita on 'I denna ljuva sommartid' ('In this lovely summertime/Go forth, my heart, and seek delight') by Gottfrid Berg (1889-1970), played on the 1957 Åkerman & Lund organ in Ore Church, Rättvik, Sweden. The organ has some pipe material from the previous organ built in 1902 by the local builder P. J. Johansson.

Gottfrid Berg (not a relative of the performer) was a Swedish organist and composer, born in Stockholm. From 1916 to 1955 he was the organist of Heliga Trefaldighets kyrka (Holy Trinity Church) in Gävle.

(My non-relative) Gottfrid Berg is back with another partita, this time on one of the most beloved Swedish summer hymns: "I denna ljuva sommartid" (In this lovely summertime/Go forth, my heart, and seek delight/Geh’ aus, mein Herz, und suche Freud).🌹🌺🌸🌼🌻The text goes all the way back to 1653 in Germany, but the melody that we hear here was written by the then archbishop of Sweden, Nathan Söderblom. It’s quite popular, used with three other texts as well, one for each season. Here however Berg had the summer hymn in mind, and what can I say - it’s just so lovely!😍Like sitting in the shade of a tree on a sunny summer’s day, listening to the rustle of the leaves…🌳Until the last part, where the sun shines in full splendour!🌞Now as always - don’t forget to click the thumbs-up and subscribe!😃

"Seems" is the keyword here…! I guess E flat major is the only key that sounds really in tune on this organ😅 Good second half of the week!
