Just a ''BIG'' thank you . I'm presently utilizing a 4 wheel walker &I'm looking at motorized basic powered wheel chairs. Awaiting on communication for more occupational therapy to add to my core strength for safe mobility & balance Your video is great & perhaps motivation for me to do something positive on my you tube channel. Your help is priceless,BC, most mobility retailer have sales people that actually know less then myself
Knowledge is power . power to make wise choices !

Projection rims also enable you to push easier. If you are worried about getting through doorways easier, just get the vertical ones. The tab tip was helpful; thank you.

Thank You! I'm not paralysed, but have been struggling with a walking frame for a few years now, and have gotten sick of collapsing in public and decided it's time for a wheelchair. I'm waiting for someone to come and do an assessment for me, but I've been waiting for months, so I got a secondhand wheelchair while I wait. It's certainly not what I want in my chair, so I'm really looking forward to choosing my own features. You have explained some things in this video that I haven't heard of before, such as the "dump" and the "camber" (spelling?) So Thank You very much for explaining those things! Very much appreciated! :)

I wish I had seen this before I got my chair. I was fitted while still in rehab, and I disagreed with the ATP on several things, but you know he knew better than what I needed 🙄. I can't entirely agree with the dump because laps are not even things, and your lap becomes your hands, so I prefer things to roll in then off. Overall, very informative video thanks for sharing your experience. I am 2 years in and have to fundraise for a new chair because the one I have is unsuited to my lifestyle but too new to replace.

I am looking into manual and power chairs. I know with my health I will be in a chair in the next few months so I am educating myself. On your rigid chair in this video the bottom seat was a sling style. Do you prefer sling or would you be willing to add a bit of weight as a solid piece bottom?

What is your injury line? I live in the country, so I have to have tires with more grip. I use sunrims SW6000 and they work better for grass and dirt for anyone who may need them.

I like the type of chair you have. Mine is the folding chairs as u stated. How do you pay for these things? Like i said i just got on medicare so maybe they help with that but i dont know people just said it helps people like me. lol. Im clueless really. You were injured and forced to learn these things. Me I have been disabled all my life and yet all my help stopped when i was 15. After that i have been living like an able body but in a wheelchair. No assistance. No insurance. Nothing.

Hello, enjoyed your video, very helpful. I am not in a chair yet but seriously considering it as my lower back causes pain in both of my legs making it very painful to move. I'm not sure of the steps yet in getting one, but was wondering if this company sends out a rep to help measure and select the style you want?

Great video. I disagree with you about dump, the 90/90/90 recommendations are a bit outdated and not practical for most.
Some things missed were front frame inset and angle. You have no inset, and probably 85 degree angle. I have a 75 in my chair due to issues with knee flexion in my left leg. Also more push rims, though you did address tab length. I use natural fits. I have drop down push handles so people don't just grab them and try to push me, but they're available when needed.

Plus my tires are jell filled so they cant ever go flat or get a hole in them for anything to leak out.

I see my Doctor tomorrow to be evaluated for a new wheelchair. I have severe lumbar scoliosis that makes it impossible for me to walk or stand for any length of time (I refused spinal fusion because the risks far outweigh the benefits) and I've been in a power chair for the last 3 years. I'm seriously considering requesting a manual wheelchair because my physical health is declining in the power chair.

You will find that it takes more work, but it is worth it in the long run! Maybe just use your power chair if you will be out all day long or outdoors where the surface is less even. But, if you are indoors it is very easy to use a manual and the long term health benefits are well worth it.

Hey, Im getting a Quikie Helium, and i know its not important as in fit but something i have to live with, i cant decide colour. My current chair is pink but its something i got custom done. Does anyone have a quickie and know what brilliant putple looks like?
I want a metallic looking finish, not it to look like enamel has been put on top (if that makes sense).
    If anyone can help appreciated
    Thanks

Im not getting any younger. I need to stop ignoring my disability like its just gonna go away someday and ill get up and walk. Not gonna happen. So Im asking for any help or advice you have. I see disabled people driving, upgrading their chairs, they have ramps and elevators and vans and everything. These things are not cheap but i have no clue where to find assistance or where to start. I guess medicare and getting on disability was a good start but $778 might be enough for bills but not to live

I have been in a chair all my life (born with muscular dystrophy) and not to bore u with my past, i have been independent yet uneducated on what i need in an everyday life for a disabled. I was wondering if u could help me? Im 28 i live alone and recently got medicare and i get ssd checks. What other steps are there for an adult? Wheelchair upgrades? Physical Therapy? Advice?

Try a Google search for durable medical equipment companies or dealers in India. That should get you started.
