    Silver chair: TiLite TR3
    Yellow chair: TiLite ZR
    White chair: Quickie Xenon 2

The first wheelchair my insurance got me was a Invacare Pronto M91 power wheelchair due to lack of grip strength...which I hated from day one. The biggest issue is that it weighs 300 lbs by itself and is very difficult to transport. I only use it outside in my backyard. I purchased an Invacare Tracer IV off the internet to see if I could self propel...which I couldn’t. That is until I found some wheelchair gloves and from that point on I never used my power wheelchair outside of my backyard again. However, I didn’t like the high backrest, canes for having someone push me or the footrests. So, I got my jigsaw out and modified the back, and took the footrests off that came with it and put a chain hanging down to put my feet on. After I was able to show my doctors and insurance that I could self propel in a manual wheelchair they ordered me a TiLite TRA. I really liked this one, but when they ordered it they didn’t angle the front in to a smaller footplate which can cause the front casters to hit things they shouldn’t. Then my doctors got a TiLite ZRA in that they didn’t have a patient for and asked me if I wanted it...of course I did. It’s a good wheelchair and the front is angled in to a smaller footplate, but the overall width is 1 inch wider even though they have the same seat width and tires/wheels. My current wheelchair is a WCMX daily use Box Wheelchair. It has full suspension (fox shocks in the back and even the front casters have suspension). This is by far my favorite wheelchair. Even though it’s heavier than my TiLite’s it’s easier to self propel. The primary vehicle I use now is a wheelchair ramp van (I only recently got this), so I don’t have to disassemble/reassemble my wheelchair when getting in or out. If I go somewhere in my wife’s car or a rental car I use my TiLite TRA. My Box Wheelchair has the Surge hand rims and I’ve found I don’t need the wheelchair gloves with them, but I do still wear them when outside as it protects my hands. I have a set of Schwalbe Marathon Plus street tires/wheels and a set of Kenda Nevegal off-road tires/wheels and find that were I live the off-road tires work better as an everyday setup. I also use a FreeWheel and a SmartDrive with the Switchcontrol (I don’t use the PushTracker (wrist watch) at all). I think for me a manual wheelchair with the SmartDrive is the best setup. It’s light and easy to transport, but I still have power assist for hills and long pushes. I think the TiLite wheelchairs are great, especially for your first wheelchair as they are adjustable and you can really dial in your seat height and center of gravity. I really like my Box Wheelchair as it’s the most comfortable to sit in all day and the easiest to self propel, but am also considering a HOC (hands on concepts) for my next wheelchair.

Ozzie, I have my original Quickie rigid frame in yellow and it still looks great. (got it in 2000) I also have a Ti in natural finish. Love the Ti, but it is rigid frame and difficult to get into vehicles. My everyday chair is an AIR Inc. (went out of business and now I can't get parts) I love it since it is foldable and very light weight. I am shopping now for a new chair and am looking at a Motion Composite Veloce (folding) or a Tilite 2GX (folding) any knowledge of these? I could really use some help since as you say..."once it arrives, it's yours". P.S. I agree with you 100%. My chair is an extension of me, if it's dirty, gooey, nasty...how does that translate to me? I wash my chair every couple of months, keep the thing clean, a little oil, a little wipe down with a rag, and they will last. Also in the ladies section of the stores, I buy fingernail polish that is as close as I can find for touch-up. We all get that occasional dinger!!

I think I paid roughly $150 to have my yellow chair repainted. But it actually isn't paint it's powder coating which is much more durable than regular paint. As far as the insurance goes, I worked for AT&T for 14 years and they used United Healthcare. United allowed me to order a new wheelchair every three years which was nice. I retired early back in September of 2019 and I currently do not have any insurance. Thank God I have three very good wheelchairs to fall back on because they'll pretty much have to hold me over for a long time. This won't be a problem because as I mentioned in my video, I baby all my chairs.

I think offer good info. I see all these sights that say you can easily fold our 50lb. wheelchair and put it in your trunk. I will have surgery and will have a no load bearing cast on my left foot. (Crack Smokers for companies that ignore why your in a wheelchair).
I also see that nobody really addresses a single person making a hot meal and the having to transport it. I have a large transition bump from my kitchen to my living room. I eat all my meals on my lift coffee table in the living room.
I have scorched myself 3 times already because of bad chair design and because I live alone.
I go from "A" to "B" in my ranch and can't get their safely in any chair moving something other than my body. Please tell me how your wonderful chair will fly my food from the car to the kitchen and then my soup to my table.
1: I need a chair to get into small doorways.
2: I need a chair that can transport items. Groceries, liquids, Hot and cold fluids or meals.
3: I need a chair that I can get out of bed and get to the bathroom without a crutch exchange of once or twice. (I don't have that many crutches).
I might be in a chair / crutches for over 12 weeks. I've seen no manufacture think of this handicap nor address it.
ANY Wheelchair mfg. or seller should have a one legged person endorse or design their product. You people assume too much of non reality.
I can't remember a single person ever pulling any wheelchair out of their trunk. Nor any body brining the scooter with them.
The major stores have power scooters for shopping but in winter using crutches just to get a scooter, then having to somehow get those back to the car before I can shop is just stupid. I have fallen on my ass several times and it hurts!
