This channel is on a roll lately! The content is well researched and the narration is engaging- keep it going!
ThaneRyan, glad you like and there's a lot more to come. I plan to build a small room as a dedicated RUclips studio in order to produce 1 or 2 videos a week a long sigh a live stream. if there's anything in particular you would like to see let me know in the comments.
I waded through a lot of crappy videos from other channels to find this video. Thank you! It's exactly what I needed
Glad you liked it, I plan on doing a lot more of this type of video.
Good stuff
Thanks Aaron glad you liked it
Any display cases you recommend that are
affordable?
i love your voice ! very informitive this will help me a lot with my figures , just wondering any tips on how to repair damaged figure boxes ? great video as always
I'm planning a series of videos on how to repair damaged figures so watch this space!!
Hi, do you maybe know if Ikea Istad is acid free zip bag?
is there a chance that acrylic cases are not that safe to store an action figure (in original box) for years? I am just thinking that books require "breathing". Also they talk about plastics with no acids...
I was watching or earing this and packing some of my figures. What do you think about packing action figures (marvel legends , transformers mostly) in the original box and then in card boxes? Is this a good ideia to preserve them? Im moving soon so i'm starting to pack some things and I need to know if this is a good ideia to storage the figures like that. And if they can be damaged after being (ex)posed and touched and then packed again.
if you check out my website
www.action-figure-resource.com/ I have several articles on storing and protecting your figures
Do you have any tips on storing larger figurines such as funko pops? (I know that keeping funko pops in their original boxes is the usual, their size is just an example).
Yes, checkout my video on the channel and also my website
Its crazy how delicate they are!! Recently i been having issues with my Hot Toys and how theyr leather outfits are desintegrating!! I ended puting them back into theyr boxes
Hot Toys pleather are notoriously fragile. I find that moisturizing them with car care products help extend their life tremendously.
@@Iroquois2688 really? Never try it before, thanks for the tip. It sucks that such expensive toys end being soo fragile (dont even want to talk about they rubber elbows)
yes, I've heard there are major issues about the Hot Toys figures disintegrating and I plan to do a video on this topic
Excellent tip thanks for that Ryan. I've been hearing a lot about faults with Hot Toys figures concerning their detoriating over time and I plan to make a video on this topic in the future. Are they any other topiceyou would like me to do a video on?
@@akiradevilmanfudo Yes, it works wonders from my experience. If they work for pleather, they'll work on the thin pleather on 1/6 figures too. What HT figure you're having problems with?
hello.. is petroleum jelly advisable for the action figure for shining them?
Not, really because the petroleum will eat into and breakdown the compounds in the plastic. Check my article on cleaning your figures.
Do you think it's a good idea to clean the dust with a hair dryer on cold mode? (for action figures and even other types of toys). About the bags, for someone who lives outside the UK, for someone who lives in the EU, do you know of any multinational companies that sell this kind of acid free bags? Or is it better to buy online?
Hi, the best thing to use to clean the dust is the canned air used to clean computer keyboards etc. The bags are best to order online or a local houseware store will usually have something similar, or a food store as the bags etc used to keep food airtight would work as well.
@@ActionFigureResource Ok, thanks
I was wondering if you had any tricks to getting out smoke or any funky smells?
generally a soak in warm, not hot, water should do it and keep them away from a smoking atmosphere or invest in an air purifier.
Hi! i had recent trouble with my toys. I have some plastic parts breaking and some melting. I think it might have something to do with storing them in a box way up in the cabinets in a very humid environment. I'm new to this help :(
Check out the video on how to store them properly and the article on my site: www.action-figure-resource.com/
@@ActionFigureResource Thanks m8
This is very informative. My question is it wise to paint figures that are missing paint such as mcfarlane sports figures? because I collect sports figurines. I been having trouble with taking care of them. One more question is it okay to glue my sports figurines if there limbs are on the verge of braking off? These figures are very.... delicate especially their plastic baseball bats and hat brims.
Hi there, it really depends on WHAT or WHY you are collecting. If it's just for fun and your own entertainment or to "showcase" them then fine. However, if you are collecting for their possible future monetary value then I would advise against it has it will decrease their value.
@@ActionFigureResource Thanks for the advice. I also collect power rangers lightning collection figures and transformers as well. My question about that is the accessories that the power rangers come with is how should I store the loose accessories in a bag or small container especially the alternate heads?
@@rougedemoncollects5239 yes, I would suggest sealed, labelled baggies stored in a dry cool place out of sunlight. There's several articles on how to take care of them and store them safely on my site: www.action-figure-resource.com/How-to-collect-action-figures-2.html
@@ActionFigureResource Thanks you very much.
i have a dc super powers superman and his color is faded anyway to fix it ?
The fading is probably due to being in the sunlight, which is irreversible I'm afraid. If it's very bad a repaint is probably the best option, if its a vintage or valuable figure it's probably best to leave it and ensure it's stored properly in the future.
How do you take good care of soft goods like cloth
Cloth and clothes you need to take care of in the same way as you do regular clothes etc, remembering to wash them regularly etc and keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and deuteriation
Ok thanks
But how do you not ruin the packaging, when trying to store in the box
Then best way is a case. If your carded figure is being store make sure its wrapprd well and use silicon to prent dampness. If on display keep away from direct sun light and watch the humidity. It's also best to creat some air holes to allow it to breath!
Anyone try using alcohol free baby wipes? That’s what I use and it is effective and safe
hmm.. sounds fairly reasonable, will have to give it a go thanks 👍👍
What’s wrong with keeping figures in the dark?
Nothing except they might get lonely!! Sometimes they need to be let out in the open. Seriously though, dark place are usually cold, and often damp. Both aren't good for your figures.
@@ActionFigureResource cheers
Hahaha wearing gloves each time you touch your toys!
