I appreciate the effort you put into this video man. You're the first collector I've seen to not only share their setup but walk others through it , it was extremely helpful and I'm looking forward to part 2!
Man do I appreciate those words...means so much and I'm glad to be able to give back to the awesome community of collectors that exist out there. Look forward to bringing many other helpful videos in the future!
*Looks nice for extra **MyseIf.Furniture** kitchen storage. Matches with oak cabinets and oak floor. Took my friend and I about 2 hours to assemble. Worth the price. We are pleased.*
This is amazing! My husband got into Lego over lockdown and it has been the most frustrating dust collection to clean. Pieces come off easily and all the collections get dusty. We also collect anime figurines and gaming retro collectibles which is also a dust magnet. So I was trying to find display cases to light up but they were thousands. This is perfect for when we move house and want to display in the gaming room. Need to watch your other videos now! Thank you!
This is one of those videos where I have to say something. Everything you mentioned at the beginning of the video, is what I have thought to myself while trying to figure out my office space with all my collectibles. I have collected things since childhood and recently just moved from Japan, so I have a lot. I work on my displays every single day. Just a couple of days ago, my wife left me and we began the divorce process. I immediately started to regret who I am and the things I like, the fact that I want to make a room out of things I love and think maybe I am wrong for it. But to know others share those passions and understand how amazing it feels to not only collect but organize and display their passions shows me I am not crazy I’m just passionate. Thank you so much for posting this content, and great job to you.
First off, very sorry to hear about the divorce, not something I ever want to hear anyone go through in life, wish you all the best as you transition into your new life and lifestyle. Second thanks for taking the time to comment like this. Have to say collecting has kept me away from a lot of bad stuff in life and it’s a pure joy to be able to connect with someone that shares in the same passion. Passion of collecting and displaying. Send me a pic of your stuff on IG or FB once you get it setup!
Never would’ve thought to paint in the holes for a cleaner look. I always just lived with the unsightly exposed wood look. The LED wood trim pieces combined with wire covers is an excellent look. Nicely done.
Dude... I just want to take the time to compliment the meticulous detail you put into every step to make your display case. Because of your video I will most definitely be buying all the materials and be using your video as a guide. I love your setup. It’s so smooth, sleek and slick and looks epic! Thank you for making this!
This was very impressive. I love the attention to detail and the extra lengths you went to to show the differences in doing it correctly and incorrectly.
Thanks so much my friend, part two will be coming out in 1-2 weeks if you have interest in how you can install a door. Thanks for the support and let me know if there's anything you need at all. Cheers mate!
Wish I would've seen this video before building a POP display case... That idea with the wood trim is amazing, it allows LEDs to illuminate the statues properly! Have to try and implement it on my next build. Greetings from Portugal!
nah.. this was such a good video.. I was looking for this exact type of vid.. you explained everything so perfectly and the amount of detail and passion you put into this is just great. thank you for taking the time to teach us noobs how to start our journey
Painting on a white carpet. Your BOLD. I needed two display cases for my 1:32 WW2 Tank collection. Found some pre-built ones online. They wanted $2000 per unit. Too expensive for me. They were 6'x5'x1' with side glass, glass doors, and shelves. I'm a DIYer and my projects only need Time, Effort, and Money. And, most times, a blood donation to the DIY God. Can't wait to watch #2. A breakdown of the cost would be nice.
This was incredible. So much respect and attention to detail paid to your collection. I was the same way with BESTA’s a few years ago. So great to see 👊🏾
Great video!!! Very thorough and great editing!!! PRO TIP: a rubber mallet and/or a towel is great for hammering/protecting those little pieces or securing sections together. PRO TIP: using the packaging cardboard underneath the completed shelves helps it slide over the rug.
You are unlike any other youtube collector i've seen! This was very informative and i truly truly appreciate it! I love the effort and hardwork you put into recording the different angles of setting up the shelf. I can't even imagine how many times you had to move the camera just to show one scene. I have the same setup but my pax is way too long. You have the pax with only 2 boards wide. Mine is 3 boards wide. Which is fine but its starting to bend in the middle and I wouldn't recommend buying it lol. Probably gonna use it for my smaller figures and buy new pax shelves for my incoming statues! :)
Oh man thank you so much for expressing all that! I can say this was one of my hardest videos to ever make but collectors needed an answer to the displaying issues that’s not expensive ModuCase. Hope it either inspired or helped you!
@@BAMCollectibles helped me. Alot! Im just starting to getting into the statue game and i am worried lol. Havent even done my first preorder yet haha. Thanks!
Wow, those are awesome! Thanks to you, my Geralt and other treasures are going to look fantastic. I love your attention to detail with hiding wires and painting holes. It really makes a world of difference! Subbed!
Wow I have two statues now, another on the way and awaiting the invoice for my Natsu statue - all thanks to you. I want to build my own case and this has given me some great inspiration. I've always enjoyed how your statues are presented in your videos, but knowing you put this much time and effort into a simple ikea shelf makes me appreciate them even more. Looking forward to the 2nd part. I'll probably go with acrylic too - glass is sexier but a sheet that size is quite heavy. No kids for me but acrylic likely a great choice for more than one reason lol

Awesome setup man. Paitience and attention to detail. Cant wait for the next video👍
Hey BAM, I just wanted to say thank you for a great series of videos! I actually followed your instructions and made 3 display cases! I had to use a different hinge though that was cheaper and available as I was having trouble finding the one that us used. Anyways, I wanted to say thanks and let you know that I am a Lego collector and I have a very small and relatively new Lego youtube channel where I just showed off my collection and linked this video in the description to show people where I got the display case instructions from. Thanks again from one displayability obsessed collector to another.
Tip for anyone cutting a lot of the plastic channels. If you put your circular blade saw blade on backwards it cuts plastic without shattering it. Its a widely used tip for cutting plastic siding, but works for all plastic. You still have to go slow, but its a lot faster than cutting by hand of you have a lot of cuts to make.
Ohh man Modu are to expensive for my taste. I feel like I'm in the minority, or maybe because I build my own, I don't really like them all that much. Plus for the size you get and how much you have to spend I can make it for 1/3 of the cost. I get it though, if someone isn't comfortable with tool or building stuff it's generally the easier way to go. Either that or they're filthy rich haha 😂
Great job! Thanks for the informative tip I personally don’t bright white light it made my display stand look like aquariums so I changed them to warm white as a natural sun light
Another small tip. If you are building cabinets like Bam Collectibles go ahead and paint the LED lighting cables as well. That way the little bit thats exposed wont be seen. Or use a sharpie after installing to make them blend.
***Please see this pinned comment in regards to LED lights and options available to you.*** First I was to say this recomendation is not verified to work out 100% like mine in the video. This is a section where I would like those who have personal experience, as you attempt this build this case yourself, with other LED companies to share with the community on what worked for you. Yea that one is my first ever display case. Got it at a store in a mall like 7 years ago that was shutting down. It's easily from the 1980's so can't say where it's from. It's since actually been trashed because the glass on it broke and I moved to using Acrylic and not glass on my displays.
@@BAMCollectibles I just started my own project based on your videos! I just got the Pax shelves from Ikea today. I did notice that the link for the LED light mounting brackets doesn't work anymore, and I haven't been able to find anything like what you used (only plastic ones).
I collect 1/8 statues and nendoroids mostly, I don't currently own resin statues at this point, maybe PAX is to big, but I am thinking of may be doing something like this on the Ikea billy.
This video is excellent and very well put together and I edit tv commercials. Well done man, just the info I needed and wanted. Very clear and concise and easy to listen too. I subbed and gave it thumbs up. Cheers for taking the time to make this.
LEGENDARY COMMENT!!! Thanks for taking the time to give such feedback and hope there’s a few other videos on the channel that you’ll find enjoyable. Cheers mate!
Was a pleasure man being able to finally showcase this for the community. I'll be planning a part 3 as well to talk about how to reinforce shelves in a way that will add sturdiness but still look slick. Thanks for the sub as well mate! Cheers!!!
Vic Lopez I’ve had my Pax cases up for 2 years now, with weights on them around 30-45 lbs on some shelves, and the much heavier ones on the bottom section. That being said I’ve seen no bowing so far. I do plan to make a video on how to reinforce the shelves though. I just need to figure out how to do it myself first before I share it publicly. I have ideas brewing though. Keep subbed to stay updated if you haven’t already 😁
Ohhhh and absolute MUST man!!! I see so many epic displays filled with holy grail pieces only to be distracted by those dang unpainted holes haha! Just like in my 2018 Collection video...my biggest regret is not taking the time to hide my wires underneath my computer properly, it's such an eye sore lol....live and learn
This is really beautiful 😍. Your attention to detail is super inspiring. I wish I could gather the energy to do this, or something similar, for my collection. If I could hire you, I would haha 😆
Hahaha I wish I could lend such services to you and make that dream come true!! When I first started coming up with the idea I just did it piece by piece and bought small things at a time. Not going to lie the first one I ever built took me a solid 2 months to complete haha! Best of luck and I'd love to see a pic of your collection setup when you get around to trying this out (^_^)/
You and me both brother! Glad you liked it and part two to this video will be rolling out very soon. Finishing production on it now. Cheers and let me know if there's anything I can help with!
Hey there! Actually going to be making a video on this really soon as my part 3. Stay subbed and tuned in and I’ll outline it just like we did in this video. Just got all my materials last week so now just need to carve out the time to film it. Which believe it or not takes a pretty dang good chunk of time :)
At ikea there are metal flat rods use of hanging clothes in the pax, turn it sideways and place under the display shelve itself... I have 2 per shelve. It holds about 75lbs+
When are you going to make part 2 with the acrylic doors? I need to know where to get them because the pax wardrobe is 92 7/8 inches tall and 39 3/8 wide, but everywhere I go they only sell 72 or 96 inches tall and 48 inches wide. Thank you
Hey man! Still waiting on my plastics guy to get a large sheet in for me so I can have the materials to document a video for the process. I say soon but it's all dependent on him at the moment man. Stay subbed and for sure there will be a follow up, you have my word on that.
Great vid! l'm about to replace my detolfs to these pax cases, only problem l have are the doors. Are you going to upload the video on how you did the doors? Thanks in advance!
I absolutely will be uploading a video on how I do my door. It's a large sheet of acrylic so no invasive looking and unless you're up close you can't even tell it's there. Just waiting on my acrylic supplier to get the large sheet in stock and then taking the time to capture the process will be a bit. Please subscribe and look forward to it in the near future, cheers mate!
Thanks so much Frank! It's in the works right now, just need a but of extra time to get it all completed. Can't wait until I have it ready for everyone. Cheers mate!!
@@BAMCollectibles Though my own project turned out to take a different path than using the Ikea products, your video sure helped to jump-start my thinking process about what I wanted to do for my Hess truck collection. The use and hiding of the LED strip lights has gotten me lots of praise, and it's all because of your video. Thanks for the inspiration!
Carlo Isacco Fiorotto Can’t wait to bring it man! My acrylic guy says he has to order some sheets so may be a few weeks before I get it in to do so. Stay tuned and thanks for the support man!!
Wow! I didnt know you made these kinds of videos! This is gonna be a big help especially for us starting with our collections! We even have that detolf you modified in the other video! Nice tutorial! Cheers!
This Play Thabks so much man! This was a direction I initially wanted to take from the channel but they’re not super popular so I only went up to part 3 and the Detolf background one. Sadly these take like 3x the amount of time as others videos haha! If you ever have any questions at all though feel free to hit me up in a comment like this or on my Facebook or Instagram. Would gladly help you out, want to see you succeed in any way that I can 👊🏻

Also if you complete it I would be absolutely thrilled to see a picture if you reach out to me on my social media. Cheers mate!
For you?!?!?!?! It'd be a pleasure mate :) url is below and I will list the product ID to. All this will be outlined and provided in my next video which I'm currently filming so should be 1-2 weeks max. I would highly recommend grabbing some soon if you're interested, they're on sale right now. I use 3 hinges per case though you might be able to get away with 2 per case. I just always wanted to avoid bowing in the acrylic sheet so I used 3. Hope this helps! www.kitchensource.com/hinges/ha-344.89.730.htm?p=HA-344.89.740 Product ID: HA-344.89.740
Hey! What is the length for the wood trim for the led and and the cord hider? I'm pretty sure the one I ordered is the same as yours. 29inch wide and 22 inch deep. It seems like the wood trim is 28 inches looking at the video but I'd like to confirm. Thank you!
They ABSOLUTELY do! They're called IKEA Komplement :) Each one you see in my video was purchased separately so you can customize them as needed. Let me know how it goes and if there's anything else I can help with mate!
First I Want to say Great Video very informative. Two, Might I ask where you were able to get the Figures from lol Now That I am Collecting a lot I want some of the big scales as well
Yo! I know the LEDs are discontinued but could you share the brand and any info on them so I can look for alternatives. I like that they are sold runs with those metal clips. Cheers!
Hey man!! See my recently pinned comment for some direction. Any thoughts after reading that please comment in that section specifically. Cheers and best luck to ya! (^_^)/
Hey hey! Tried the bottom mounted lights and they were too much in your face so I decided never to do it again. For shelves with tall pieces maybe mounting to the sides are best. Trim wise it’s all depending on how many shelves. Always one on top and one per each shelf after so will differ per a persons display. Hope that helps!
Seth V. 16” options from amazon is all I can find at the moment. They work amazing with the 39” PAX. As far as 29” wide ones go I have no direct options at the moment, so sorry man.
Thanks so much Matthew! Currently waiting for the shop I get the door from to get a large sheet in to cut for me. It'll still be a few weeks until I'm able to probably get it in and document it all to be able to share. Hope you subbed so you won't miss it when I get it out. In the meantime I will probably make a video in between on how to reinforce shelving to hold heaver statues or prevent bowing on shelves. Thanks again for stopping by man!
WOW 😱 Very good explanation and tutorial. I will follow it for sure. I have used Besta from Ikea before but it allows me to put 2-3 resins depending of the size. I saw that you put 2 shelfs instead of one, is this for secure the figures? I saw that Ikea recommend 20Kg or 44 lb max, I think that with 2 shelfs will load more, isn't it? Thank you 😁
Hey hey!! Thanks! This would absolutely be secure for figures and I will actually be doing a follow up video soon with how to reinforce the shelves to hold more weight. Currently gathering materials and will film that soon. Hope you subbed so you don’t miss it! Side note, love your channel man! Statues and Pokémon cards....what a beautiful combination for a channel!! Would love to do a collaborative video sometime if you have an interest. I know I’m much smaller than you subscriber wise so no worries if you have no interest. Keep doing what you do man! 🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻
That would definitely help to reinforce the shelves but it’s at the expense of losing room to display everything. In my next case build video I will be showcasing how to reinforce shelves with steel shelf bracket bars. Things have been very busy at work so I’ve been slow to release that one but as soon as I can it’ll be out!
One of the most precious resources as a collector is space, so anything I can do to gain more in a display case is so well worth it. Look forward to it as soon as I can nail down a good chunk of time. Cheers!
JD BANNER Sales guy for an industrial gas company. But I don’t really use my income for statues. All that comes from buying and selling collectors through the many years as things gain value. I try my best not to use income if I can which keeps the costs low. Just constantly shifting what I love and what’s valuable around to meet the needs.
I appreciate the effort you put into this video man. You're the first collector I've seen to not only share their setup but walk others through it , it was extremely helpful and I'm looking forward to part 2!

Thanks so much man! Glad I could showcase it for everyone (^_^)/
BAM Collectibles painting the holes is such a pro tip. I have white cabinets so it’s not TOO bad but this is crisp on black cabinets.
Nice work👍🏽Thanks for the ideas
Hey bam, any way you can link a updated place to get the correct LED lights?
ive decided to try and make your IKEA detolf and im a bit overwhelmed atm
Thank you. I needed this guide so bad.
Really nice video! I love the display!
Thank you for explantation!
My pleasure!! Working on part 3 today to bring to everyone 😃
Have a great Saturday!!!
Best of luck and I'd love to see a pic of your collection setup when you get around to trying this out (^_^)/
Great video. Thanks! I like a classy display.
You and me both brother! Glad you liked it and part two to this video will be rolling out very soon. Finishing production on it now. Cheers and let me know if there's anything I can help with!
some great passion and some nice hacks, thanks!🙏🏽
What would be used to reinforce the shelves for extra piece of mind for some of the bigger scale pieces
Thanks, this will help me a lot with the next project
Glad I could help!
i just wanna ask is it ok to display the figured in open air roof top of the house? thanks in advance
Very helpful and amazing videos.
I’ll wait for acrylic door part please update soon
Thank you for sharing. This is great. This is definitely how I want my display.
hai to Very happy to be able to bring it to everyone! Would love to see pics of yours if you do go this route 😁
Great vid! l'm about to replace my detolfs to these pax cases, only problem l have are the doors. Are you going to upload the video on how you did the doors? Thanks in advance!
Yea I use White Pax and need doors.
Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to do it! I can't wait for video#2!
Awsome video. Fantastic information and parts and where to buy. Already subbed and hit the bell. Mad Congratulations on your DBZ collection.
Thanks so much John! So happy it seems to have helped and def let me know if you have any questions or if I can help at all. Cheers!
just wow 😯😯 Nice Shirt :) I'm also a fan of Naruto 😍😍
Thanks so much man!
Trying to find the led you use to light the cabinet, is there a link? Thanks!!!
Love the video bro can you please help on which LEDs to go with I love the cool white.
I'll w8 for the next part. Best video ever
Carlo Isacco Fiorotto Can’t wait to bring it man! My acrylic guy says he has to order some sheets so may be a few weeks before I get it in to do so. Stay tuned and thanks for the support man!!
Great video 😊 This is how I want my collection to look one day 👍😊
TheRobinRobber If you need anything on your journey to get there man don’t hesitate
To reach out to me 🤜🏻
@@BAMCollectibles Thanks man 😊
Hey where did you get those extensions for led lights??
A little heat will take it off easily✌🏽
This is so cool! I want to make one but I have to save $200 and my parents told me I have to do better at dusting off my setup.
Would gladly help you out, want to see you succeed in any way that I can 👊🏻
Great instructional video! Very informative as I am getting ready to do this with my collection.
Awesome!!! Happy for you! It’s a great step to be able to get your collectibles inside a proper case and showcase them. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything.
Also if you complete it I would be absolutely thrilled to see a picture if you reach out to me on my social media. Cheers mate!
@@BAMCollectibles Will do thanks dude!
This video was super helpful! Subscribed👍🏽
Very impressive. Thanks for the tips.
My pleasure! Hope it helps with your displays!
Wow real nice
Thank you so much 😀
Is there any issues with the Komplement shelves sagging in the middle under weight?
I know its probably on the next video but, would it possible to have the model or url to the hinge you will be using?
For you?!?!?!?! It'd be a pleasure mate :) url is below and I will list the product ID to. All this will be outlined and provided in my next video which I'm currently filming so should be 1-2 weeks max. I would highly recommend grabbing some soon if you're interested, they're on sale right now. I use 3 hinges per case though you might be able to get away with 2 per case. I just always wanted to avoid bowing in the acrylic sheet so I used 3. Hope this helps!

@@BAMCollectibles Thank you very much. i'll be waiting for your next video!!!!
Great video. Working on one of these now. What’s that power saw you used?
Hey! What is the length for the wood trim for the led and and the cord hider? I'm pretty sure the one I ordered is the same as yours. 29inch wide and 22 inch deep. It seems like the wood trim is 28 inches looking at the video but I'd like to confirm. Thank you!
Any ideas for making this fire resistant?
May I ask how much weight does the shelf can hold? thanks!! my statue is pretty heavy.
do IKEA sell separate shelves for that unit if you wanted coz i’m in uk and i’m thinking getting tht Units
They ABSOLUTELY do! They're called IKEA Komplement :)
Each one you see in my video was purchased separately so you can customize them as needed.
@@BAMCollectibles I cant find the pinned comment... also searching for similar lights
Thank you for some great tips.
How many pieces of trim did you have to buy? 2? Also, have you thought about double mounting LED lights to the top AND bottom of each shelf?
@@BAMCollectibles Have you found another solution for lights longer than 16"?
Seth V. I will be uploading a part 3 soon that will cover that. Stay tuned!
@@BAMCollectibles I am in mid-build, so would appreciate any advice before I crack open these 16" options. PM me?
Seth V. 16” options from amazon is all I can find at the moment. They work amazing with the 39” PAX. As far as 29” wide ones go I have no direct options at the moment, so sorry man.
Damn dude great job!!
Thanks man! Hope it helped!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial! When will you be uploading Part II: Door Installation?
Thanks so much Matthew! Currently waiting for the shop I get the door from to get a large sheet in to cut for me. It'll still be a few weeks until I'm able to probably get it in and document it all to be able to share. Hope you subbed so you won't miss it when I get it out.
In the meantime I will probably make a video in between on how to reinforce shelving to hold heaver statues or prevent bowing on shelves. Thanks again for stopping by man!
damn looks so nice!!! what about the glass ?
Amazing.
For sticker removal, take from an ebay reseller, use a hair dryer. Get the sticker warm and it will strip clean.
Information is very insightful..Can you spray paint the shelf it self?
Can't say that I've tried before but with a few coats slowly I'm sure it's possible!
Do you still have a link to the LED lights you used?
Company went out of business. I think I’m part 2 or 3 I have an updated link in the description.
great video great channel, liked and subscribed.
Thanks so much for the support! Part 3 for the series is in production so hope to have that for everyone soon (^_^)/
Could you post the parts and links where you bought everything
This is pretty much exactly what i had in mind to display my Title belts. I gotta ask the obvious question, how much are those display cabinets?
A friend of mine doubled up on the shelves for extra support for his statues...but metal shelf pegs should do the trick...would you say for support?
That would definitely help to reinforce the shelves but it’s at the expense of losing room to display everything.
In my next case build video I will be showcasing how to reinforce shelves with steel shelf bracket bars. Things have been very busy at work so I’ve been slow to release that one but as soon as I can it’ll be out!
@@BAMCollectibles Yeah....I'll take the same route as you. 1:4 scale pieces take up abit of room.
One of the most precious resources as a collector is space, so anything I can do to gain more in a display case is so well worth it. Look forward to it as soon as I can nail down a good chunk of time. Cheers!
@@BAMCollectibles Cool what do you do for work?
JD BANNER Sales guy for an industrial gas company. But I don’t really use my income for statues. All that comes from buying and selling collectors through the many years as things gain value. I try my best not to use income if I can which keeps the costs low. Just constantly shifting what I love and what’s valuable around to meet the needs.
What are you doing now that Pax has been reduced to just white?
Great video
Hope it helped and best of luck on your build!
